Let's get a thread going!
Who's joining in? Ali's is set to start Monday, May 10. Will you play along with her or will you choose your own week? What supplies will you use? Is this your first or fifth time?

Oh, God I don't know!! If I do, it'll be my 7th year. 5 completed, beautiful albums. 2 complete, documented years, with photos and notes, languishing in boxes. I wasn't going to, I really wasn't. Now I'm not so sure. Its not the release of the products, though, cause the only thing I really, really like is the one stamp with the small-ish phrases. This has always been my favorite project of the entire year. I think I'd be stupid to try again, hope to get my mojo back to work on it, then...crickets...

Im debating doing a 3x8 album. I dont know that I will be busy enough for a 6x8 (and I think Ali's album prices are nuts and I already own a 3x8). Probably not mini kit either. I do like the PP mini kit, but if I do a 3x8 then I have no uses for 4x6 cards.

Yay, dawnnikol, thank you for leading us down the WITL path! I'm considering doing a horizontal 4x6-ish mini. One entry spread with recap of the day, one main anecdote of the day spread, one "sandwich" spread with whatever else needs documenting for the day (current events, pandemic update, playlist of the moment, ephemera, etc.). I have some of the Crate Paper Sweet Story papers I bought 80% off that would make a nice colour scheme for spring with the soft pink, muted yellow and pastel mint green. With some DIY chipboard covers and golden rings, I think it could look nice without being too large to store. And of course, vellum inserts... Sweet Story colour scheme:

I’m definitely doing it but I may not buy any of Ali’s products. I like the yellow album and the houses but I figure those will go fast. As far as cards, I bought several $1.00 digital kits from studio calico when they were on sale a while back. I will probably just pull from those and make my own kit. I don’t like Ali’s colour scheme this year.

Is this your first or fifth time? Hello! Thanks for starting this! I’m not 100% sure but I will probably start Sunday May 9 ( here our weeks start on Sunday) I was less than thrilled with the majority of the release so I’m going to buy some of the AE stamps and then shop my stash. I have some digitals in from The Shiny Bits I may use. I’m not sure how many times I have done WITL but it’s more than 5. theshinybits.com/search?q=Weekly+prompts

Yes. It would be my 4th year. Likely use a 6x8 album that I already have, the new AE mini kit and any other supplies I already have on hand. I prefer to do it after Ali. I’m expecting baby number 2 on or around June 27th so I can’t decide if I want to do it before or after or both. 🤔 I’m looking forward to the prep party as I really enjoyed it last year and still refer to the videos.

Now that I’m back to work I will do WITL for the second time to compare/contrast with last year when I was hone 24/7 I will probably do it the same week and I’ll probably keep a similar format to what I did last year to better compare
WITL probably isn’t a regular thing for me because I do the memory planner & PL and there just isn’t a whole lot if other stuff to cover that isn’t in those
I almost did WITL this past week with the dogs surgery but I’m just going to put it in my PL as an insert there’s way more stuff than I can fit in my planner
Is she doing a kick off class online with downloads again?

I've done WITL every year since 2011, except last year. I had grand plans to do it, but just couldn't get into it. I might not join her on the 10th, simply because that's the day after Mother's Day (in the US). I'll have to nail down a week, but definitely want to participate.
I'll stick with 6x8, because I'm comfortable with it and enjoy it. I don't have to think about the photos when I take them, whereas if I swapped to 3x8, I think about the photos differently for printing purposes.
I'd really like to pull from my stash for the product, simply because I have so much...

I'm in! I've done WITL every year since 2011 too and I've finished my albums every year though there were a couple that I had to really push to complete. I will be purchasing some stuff from AE cause I like the colors this year, last year I shopped my stash for the most part. I'm looking forward to this year because I've changed jobs and it will be interesting to see the difference from previous ones.

I love WITL, I’ll be playing along. Should be an interesting week, we will be in the middle of selling my home, finding a new one and living in temporary housing, and without kids.
My excuse for buying the kit is, all my stuff is packed!
Last year’s prep day class was awesome. I got some great ideas.

I'm going to give it a skip - I did it last year and enjoyed it but don't feel the need to do it every year. DD20, however, had an assignment from one of her professors to do a week-long tech fast (school/work exceptions) and she took photos every day so I will be scrapping those as a week-project instead.

I think I am in. I did WITL last year and it would be nice to have a less weird year to compare to last year. Plus I have plans to see my girlfriends for the first time since COVID began.
I have a few old kits, but I think I need an album...

I plan to do WITL this year, likely wait until June, though, because of my work schedule. I think I've been doing them off and on since 2015 or so.
Will likely buy something from Ali's collection, but only digitals this time. I still have tons of product from previous years.
I do WITL in 6x8, but don't need a new album. I have plenty of 6x8s already.
I always like this project, but I already suspect that I'll struggle with photos this year if we're still working from home. I struggled with PL and DD last year, and got burnt out on taking photos around the house.

I’ll be participating in WITL this year. It’s my favorite of Ali’s projects.
Same week as her, I seem to be more engaged when lots of other people are using the same week.
Planning on buying the yellow album, Paislee Press mini kit, pleather tags, canvas patches and half circles. I started going through my stash of previous WITL products this weekend. I’m excited.

I love all the extras this year- felt houses, pleather, 3x8 cards, but not keen on either kit. I’m thinking Ali’s digital journal cards only, plus the “extras” and that sweet, bright yellow album.
I was going to pass this year, but I’m interested in contrasting this year with last year. My album last year was so much shock and awe. Hopefully this year will involve more hope.

I have unfinished WITL from previous years so in theory, I shoudl not be going ANY where near this project this year....... ......................but the week included my 50th birthday...... so........................... Liz Tamanaha's kit is the one speaking to me - and I'm a sucker for yellow albums, so those are my choices this year. I do have some other things.... the work related set - I think they would be good in other projects like DD as well.... and I do like the colours - nice and bright for me. I like hte specific WITL chipboard, but likely won't get those simply because it's million dollar chippy and i only love the one sheet. The word stickers are calling my name, and I think the B&W patches. Enough to get me the flat rate shipping.....

Me too. I do my weeks Sunday-Sat, so I'll be starting on May 9th. I just do mine in my normal PL yearly album, hybrid style. My plan is to fill each side of a 9x12 pocket page with each day. I'll end up with 7 pages total and I don't do my typical PL spread for that week. I do have a travelers notebook album with the clear covers and rings from Color Cast Designs I bought a couple of years ago that might be fun for this project but keeping it in my PL album means it's more likely to get finished, so I imagine I'll stick to that. I’m not sure how many times I have done WITL but it’s more than 5. theshinybits.com/search?q=Weekly+promptsThanks for the reminder. I have those in my digi stash too. I don't think I've ever used them. This would be a great project to bring them out.

I love the colors of the acetate half circles...but am having a hard time thinking of how Id use them. Anyone got any ideas? Since they're such a distinctive shape + colour scheme, I'd use them as a consistent element through the album. 1 a day for the main story (journaling around the semi-circle - the yellow one would look awesome positioned horizontally at the bottom about an early morning story) or as part of the divider/daily opening page. They could look cute mounted on transparent acetate with some embellishment play to note the day of the week, letting a large photo peek out from behind the bright colour. Heck, it'd look really neat with a B&W photo, too, especially the hot pink shade.

Great ideas! I was thinking you could also possibly make a little mini book and tuck it in a 4x6 pocket.

I love the colors of the acetate half circles...but am having a hard time thinking of how Id use them. Anyone got any ideas? I kinda want to make my own - but I think you could attach some clear tape to the flat side and make it a flip element. Could also be a semi circle on one side and one on the other to flip open like a gate almost? Or top and bottom, same thing. If you made some of your own that were solid, you could mix it up by having some that are transparent and some that are opaque for hidden journaling or a repetitive element throughout. Could also use them as a tab on the page protector / edge of the paper. You know she's gonna staple a star or heart in the middle of them! What about a photo that fits in it on one side and journaling on the other? You'd have that gorgeous edge, but then the photo and journaling addition. If you're doing 9x12 or 6x8 you could go nuts and use them all up on one page protector as a title page, too. Combine them with Thickers or other alpha stickers and elements you plan to use throughout the album?

I’m planning to join in, but I’m not sure which week. I didn’t do last year, so I’m considering bumping it up to capture things before everything opens back up. But, my birthday is in May, so I might pick that week. At this point I’m not planning to buy anything, but I may browse through IACB to see if she has anything I’d like (or if I already have something from her that will work). I’m finding that for these intense focus projects (like DD), I don’t do a lot of embellishing beyond some small bits like enamel dots and sequins and maybe a few stickers or chipboard pieces, and I certainly have tons of those!

I’m thinking about a blurb trade book and using some of the digital kits I already have. I think I will try to set up a formula for each day prior to the may start so I just have to pop in pictures and words. I don’t scrapbook digitally so this terrifies me but I really love those little books.
