Key figure in Gaetz saga to cooperate with feds: reports BY JULIEGRACE BRUFKE - 04/08/21 01:46 PM EDTJoel Greenberg, a Seminole County tax collector and friend of embattled GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz (Fla.), is expected to strike a plea deal, his attorneys said in court Thursday, according to multiple reports.
Greenberg faces charges including sex trafficking of a child. His association with Gaetz has led to a federal probe into the Florida congressman, who has not been charged.
Gaetz has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and alleged that he and his family have been victims in an extortion scheme led by for former Justice Department official.
No plea deal has been finalized, but assistant U.S. Attorney Roger Handberg told a judge on Thursday that “we believe this case will be a plea,” according to CNN.
The Washington Post reported that Fritz Scheller, an attorney for Greenberg, requested the court set a May 15 deadline for the two sides to either reach a deal or plan for a trial this summer.
The potential plea deal comes amid growing pressure on Gaetz, the subject of a federal probe into whether he had an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paid for sexual favors.

As a sidenote, I'm STILL not buying the idea of Gaetz being into women or girls, sorry. The whole Nestor thing doesn't sit well with me and it was never explained. I HOPE it's been (or being) investigated fully. There's something very wrong with this picture. WHY did this child spend years in Gaetz's home with just Gaetz??? Gaetz never adopted him. How is it legal to just take in a minor child that you're not related to when they come from another Country?? It's all strange and I'm thinking that Nestor played a much bigger part in all of this. I really think that Gaetz and Gym Jordan have more in common than anyone else.......

I do think it's very strange that the Nestor story dropped off the radar. Everything about it is odd and creepy, if not downright illegal.
It's not like Gaetz has ever had a kind, thoughtful, giving, nurturing reputation. There haven't been years of articles praising his selflessness, and he's never tried to cultivate anything along those lines himself; certainly not by talking up his sexual prowess and showing pics of naked girls & women to his coworkers.
