Happy April!
I'm excited to have our son and grandchildren here next week. I need to clean up the DR table. It's covered in my scrap stuff.

April! Already!
Hoping to carve out a little time to do my April ‘before’ planner month pages before getting to far into April. Not sure I’ll get the chance but I’m going to try.🤞🏻

I'm excited about this Sunday being 70 degrees in my neck of the woods! Because it can so easily snow, sleet, hail, tornado on Easter, we were nervous about our small outside gathering. Looks like it is going to be possible! So happy!!!
April scrapbooking dilemma. I decided to use a CM book for my trip. However there are fewer pics than I thought. Is it bad to put 2 trips in one book? Never done that before, but both trips will fill the coverset. It goes against my scrappy grain, but I don't want an album with just 14 pages in it!

I think it would be more bothersome in the long run to have a half empty album than to have an album with 2 trips in it.

This is Easter weekend so I am counting on DIL to do egg dying with DGD. I am serving a nice Easter dinner at their house and have filled baskets for everyone. I also brought gorgeous Easter flowers home from Pennsylvania and they look and smell beautiful.
I have a Fri and then a Fri and Sat of scrapping this month. I will finish up last year's birthdays because DS1 turns 30 on Tuesday. I may also scrap St Pat's Day just to knock out something current.

I have to be honest and say the rational part of me would say put two trips in one one album because it's silly to have a half filled album, but another part of me likes the idea of the trips being in separate albums (unless the destinations or trips were taken near each other or have some other link). Could you stick some kind of tab on the first page of the second trip to clearly identify it's two separate events?

@kendramage I'd have no hesitation putting two trips in one album.
Work has been mandatory overtime for the past two weeks, and will probably remain so for another two weeks, so I haven't had time or energy to scrap.
But I have been trying to get photos spring taken so they're there when I finally do have time.
Last night the kids dyed Easter eggs, and that's always a fun page to scrap.
And I got a few at the park with the flowering trees the other day.
I still need to order March photos.

Oh my goodness! I took over 200 photos today of Easter at Ds1's house, 95% of which are DGD. I have edited about 150 of them to print and scrap. I see a car in the background, or food on the table, and I want to save it for memories 50 years from now, the kind of stuff I like to see in photos.
The expressions my DGD has are each unique and I want to capture all of them, so it seems impossible to pass over a photo of her various takes on whatever is going on.
What about you? Do you ever go crazy and scrap way more photos of an event than you think you should? When it comes to DGD I just can't let one of her sweet photos go.

When it comes to DGD I just can't let one of her sweet photos go. yes I have (and probably still do to some extent) but I'm trying really hard to distill down to the absolutely best photos and/or the ones that best tell the story. Otherwise I'm going to end up buried in albums and untold stories.

myboysnme Yes, I absolutely sometimes take a deluge of photos, trying to capture every detail, all the special moments, everything. I took probably less than twenty photos on Easter. A few of the kids hunting the eggs, a couple selfies, some of the filled baskets before they were given. I'm the only person in my family who wants the photos taken, or who finds them fun or important. So I don't fight to have great photos anymore. I don't bother asking the kids to wear a nicer outfit than what they rolled out of bed with. Don't ask twice for the teen or the older family who doesn't want their photos taken. Don't try to get staged group shots. And I just snap my own selfie because if I burden a family member to take a pic of me, they will aim the camera vaguely in my direction, snap one pic without composing it first, and I'm nearly guaranteed to have a pic that cuts off my head at my forehead, has my face mid expression and not ready, and leaves out whatever nice stuff is in the background.

myboysnme I did the same with our first grandchild. I have an entire album devoted to her 1st birthday. I quickly learned I have to be more selective. LavenderLayoutLady Good for you with the selfies! I have done that this year of COVID. I started telling more of my own story.

Last night I finally ordered March photos. There weren't many, and I paid more for shipping then prints.
I actually scrapped yesterday. All three were virtual school related, and had screen shots but no people pictures.
And I took a few more pics of my kids when we went for a walk. All with spring flowers/tree blooms in the background.

We don't always go to the same place when we add a mini vacay onto family visits. It just made sense to get the big picture.

If both trips were taken solo or with the same people, in the same year (regardless if with different people), to the same destination (different years, regardless if with different people), or other similarity, I'd combine them into one album with a "title page" (a page protector containing a sheet of solid cardstock with SAN FRANCISCO 6/1/2019 - 6/15/2019 typed on the front & blank on the reverse) at the beginning of the album for the first trip & another mid-album for the second trip (e.g. ATLANTA 9/1/2019 - 9/15/2019) & label the spine accordingly (e.g. TRAVEL 2019, SF & ATL). HTH.

I think that is why it's hard lol...2 different trips, different people, ect...It violates everything I cherish about scrapbooking paranoid perfectionist photo sorting organizational strategies... ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ui47LhQw2NqWVWNNqtfM.jpg) But I might have to do it. I cannot let the album exist with 14 pages. I should have done a small book.

To the same region (e.g. NORTHEAST USA)? For the same purpose (e.g. BIRD WATCHING EXCURSIONS 2018-2020)? Even if the only similarities between trips is that you took them, IMHO the labeled spine & clear division of trips within the album is key (e.g. SF 2017, ATL 2019). After all, you can always move one of the trips to its own album or another one shared with a future trip to the same destination later by simply changing the album label & (re)moving the title page. HTH.

With different people lol. Oh well, who cares at this point right? The whole point is to get them actually into an album, any album!

I generally only use 3 ring albums, but in this case you could put each in a post-bound album. It would be thinner and not feel so empty.

Yesterday I tried to squeeze in an hour of scrapping. Started three layouts, but couldn't get far in that time, with several interruptions and not enough quiet.
I'm expecting delivery of my March photos on the 15th and really hoping they do come on time this month.

My grandchildren were here over the last week, so I'll have some fun photos to scrap. Our grandson is here for the whole month (you are probably sick of hearing that), so we have some adventures planned. I'd don't know how much scrapbooking I'll manage until May.

Find some cheap skinny albums like mikklynn suggested I'm only half kidding. Seeing one album for both years sitting on the shelf would make me nuts!

Glad you got to have the kids for a week, mikklynn. My 8 yr old dgs called yesterday to tell me that if the indoor gathering restrictions aren't lifted soon, he is going to "rent a trailer for $2 a day" and camp in our yard. (Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people are allowed.) @kendramage, the best album is a FINISHED one. Put that book on the shelf with PRIDE!
