Happy Spring AussieMeg grammadee joblackford schroema jjpeapea teacherlisa sleepingbooty kellyr21How are you all this lovely Easter weekend? Do you have plans? We did have plans, but they've fallen through as the province announced a 4 week lockdown starting tomorrow. I'm gutted and I am NOT "making lemonade" this morning I think this month we should try a game on this thread to keep us chatting! Pose a question - a "this or that" question. They may be scrapbook related, or not. Make them as silly as you like! EVERYONE should answer , not just one person - but the first person to answer should add a question of their own. By the end of the month, we will may have quite a list! I'm starting with 3 questions: Coffee or tea? (I'm coffee all the way)Easter chocolate, or Easter candy like jellybeans or cream eggs? (that's a hard choice kitbop!!! If I can only have one, I guess the candy side wins)Green or Yellow for a monochromatic scrapbook layout? (yikes, those aren't great choices. Who the heck would scrapbook monochromatic anyways? Yellow I suppose)
And a REMINDER TO POST SOME CHALLENGES! If you don't know what category to put them in, just list a few and I'm sure grammadee will categorize them for you Choose things that you want to push yourself to use, or things that you always use and can profit from!!! And this shouldn't cause stress, just pop out any simple idea you like.

Both, chocolate (if I really had to choose), and green, maybe?
My question is coastal or inland?
I'm a skinny island girl. (my island is skinny! me, not so much.) I can't handle the idea of being surrounded by all the land. And lakes in the middle of land masses are deeply weird to me. I miss my Pacific Ocean.
I experimented with cutting up a bunch of paper using multiple Sheetload of Cards sketches yesterday so I wouldn't end up with the random scraps at the end of each sheetload. It also lets me put off making coordinating decisions. I think I have one set of 12 cards ready to glue down this morning and I'm hoping to bust through a bunch more. I'm trying to use up a LOT of Bloom Street paper, hoping I won't end up with tons of gorgeous scraps I can't bare to throw out. Wish me luck!

Thanks, kitbop, for adding some fun. Just found out my daughter may not be able to return to the sheltered workshop this month, for similar reasons as your lockdown. Tea, all day. One caffeinated in the morning and herbal the rest of the day. Chocolate. I like candy but I love chocolate. Green supports many more of my layouts and pockets. Coastal. Haven't been to a coast for three years, but the sounds of the sea ... ahhhhhhhh Acrylic dots, these hands and waaaaaayyyyy to clumsy for any liquids. Here is a classic for you: cats or dogs. I like dogs, I'm definitely a cat person. Love the feeling of a cat in the lap on a cold day, and on the feet at night.

I need to be a better team member this month, and chat a bit more. Coffee or tea?Coffee coffee coffee, I love coffee and I am totally addicted. Like a lot of my fellow Melburnians, I am a bit of a coffee snob. It has to be freshly ground beans, with perfectly textured milk. If I could marry my coffee machine I would. Did I say I love coffee? Easter chocolate, or Easter candy like jellybeans or cream eggs?Definitely Easter chocolate. Green or Yellow for a monochromatic scrapbook layout? You're evil. Why would you pose such a question? Ugh, if I have to choose, I guess I'll choose green. Under duress. Coastal or inland? Definitely 100% without hesitation - COASTAL. I would go stir crazy being landlocked. Nuvo (or other liquid drop) OR acrylic dots?Neither because I scrap digital. But I think I'd probably prefer Nuvo / liquid. Cats or dogs?Definitely dogs. I would never get a cat, even though the rest of the family would like to. My question: What's your favourite season to scrap and your least favourite?Definitely summer, because it's my favourite season, and I love the bright happy colours of summer kits and the fun beach photos. My least favourite is autumn because I don't like using earthy tones. I save a lot of money on products in the northern hemisphere autumn, because I don't like many of the kits that get released.

I'm sorry you had to cancel your plans kitbop . I am kicking myself the I didn't book the beach house for this weekend, because we are having the best beach weather this long weekend. We are already 5 weeks into autumn, but it feels more like summer. I daresay this will be the last of the hot weather though. Tomorrow (Sunday) we will go to my dad's house for brunch and an Easter egg hunt.

I am so craving an Easter Egg Hunt. It's work to hide things...but so much fun to watch people hunt! One problem I have: my kids are TERRIBLE hunters. Just awful. I don't know what I did wrong in raising them honestly Well, DH is likewise a can't-see-the-rhinocerus-in-front-of-his-face person, so it must be genetic We've added another Easter downer here - DH has a toothache. Of course it started on Good Friday, of course. So I'm looking at the Prime Rib in my fridge and thinking I'll freeze it, because it's unlikely he's gonna be chomping on that!!! Coastal or inland? Definitely coastal. Grew up on the coast. Love the smell and the mountains. I actually prefer the Great Lakes for camping and swimming in the summer, but I'd like to live on the ocean. Nuvo (or other liquid drop) OR acrylic dots? OK, if you are providing these supplies free I'll take the enamal dots!!! Because they don't have to dry, will never smeer when I drag my hand through them accidentally, and will never change shape through pressure in my books. And because you can experiment with placement and colour before you commit. However, I love Nuvos for the cost savings!!! Cats or dogs? Dogs. I love the loyalty and love. We have 2 dogs and 4 cats, so you can see how far my preference actually extends1 What's your favourite season to scrap and your least favourite? My favourite is "outdoors". So that typically means summer, but can extend to Spring/Fall as well! I love both Summery and Autumnal colours. Winter is by far my least favourite season to scrap. People are either too bundled up to make for decent pictures, or they are indoor photos...

Coffee but I also love tea
Chocolate
Green... so many beautiful shades of green in nature.
Inland
Enamel dots
Dogs... I have an allergy to cats.. but I have a feral cat who has adopted me and is weird because she loves people.
Favorite season is spring but is so short in AZ
Favorite season to scrap is summer.
New question-what scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t - my answer is 9x12 page size...i have all the things...but haven’t done anything yet.

Coffee for sure! I just have to be careful about caffeine after about noon if I want to sleep! Jelly beans over chocolate Probably green- I keep wanting to try a monochromatic layout but other colors keep popping in. Lol Coastal hoping our beach vacay will actually happen this summer. It’s been too long! Enamel dots Fave season to scrap-probably summer because of the trips we take I’d like to try a day in the life/week in the life project. I did a day in the life for my daughter when she was 1/2 and it was super cute. Need to do it again as a teen!

kitbop- Glad to join in this month. Coffee or tea? Love tea, cold and hot Easter chocolate, or Easter candy like jellybeans or cream eggs? Chocolate Green or Yellow for a monochromatic scrapbook layout? Yellow is one of my favorite colors. My question is coastal or inland? Coastal, love going to our local beach here in CA What's your favorite season to scrap and your least favorite? Maybe Christmas Nuvo (or other liquid drop) OR acrylic dots? I haven't used either so not sure. Cats or dogs? Dogs but I do love cats, too. What scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t? Gelli Plate- I bought one a few months ago and can't wait to try. Morning person or night owl? How about afternoon gal? LOL! I used to be a real night/late night owl but I can't do it too much anymore. My question: What's the last craft supply you have bought?Slimline dies from Amazon.

Hi kellyr21 and teacherlisa! Glad to see your faces. teacherlisa - you joined us at least once on the google crops - we were talking about you last weekend! Will you join us again sometime? kellyr21 - when I think of you, I immediately think of 1) beautiful stamped art ladies and 2) Southern Cali ...and I get a little jealous Nuvo (or other liquid drop) OR acrylic dots? I haven't used either so not sure. I think we need to change this! What scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t? Gelli Plate- I bought one a few months ago and can't wait to try. This is the *perfect* answer and I'm going to steal it! I've actually been looking for a reasonably priced gelli plate! They are a covid casualty - many people have jumped on the gelli-plate bandwagon. Morning person or night owl? NIGHT! If I'm allowed to get into my "natural" rhythm, I stay up (productively) until 1, and then sleep in until 9:30 or 10. However, the world doesn't revolve well around this schedule and the older I get the more I find it's easier to stay in my 6:30am-10:30pm routine Last craft supply I bought: 5 minutes ago I bought the 6x6 sketch class from Alison Davis. Are sketches a supply? Yesterday, I splurged and bought TWO new sets of alcohol markers (Ohuhu) off Amazon to complete my colours of that brand. I do own copics, and LOVE them, but they are way way way way overpriced IMO. I can't even afford refills, and at least half of my copics are drying up so not fun to use. Ohuhus work well and at $1/pen I don't care that they aren't refillable!!!

What scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t? There's nothing really that I want to try but haven't. Although I saw a product called Nuvo Embellishment Mousse the other day, and I almost want to get back into paper scrapping just for that!
Morning person or night owl? I'm a night owl. I tend to stay up past midnight most nights, and later on the weekend (and then regret it in the morning!)
What's the last craft supply you have bought? The Digital Press had a 70% off sale the other day, and I bought a number of kits.

Nuvo (or other liquid drop) OR acrylic dots? Acrylic dots, so I can move them around all over my card and then decide that I won't use them after all. I love cats, but I'm allergic, didn't know that growing up with cats. Learned to love dogs as an adult, but I am too lazy to adopt one. I say hello to all the neighborhood pets and strays and give them names though. What's your favourite season to scrap and your least favourite? Sunshine is good, overcast is bad. Spring with sunshine, perhaps, but really any day with sunshine. what scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t Using Procreate to do digital scrapping. Or writing my own word art with the Apple Pencil. Morning person or night owl? Morning. I waste a lot of mornings doing who knows what, but I fade by mid-afternoon and don't do much at all at night. What's the last craft supply you have bought? Besides tape runner refills, I ordered a $5 altenew paper pack because of an IG ad. The tradeoff for cheap paper and free shipping was that they emailed every single day after that until I finally told them to stop. Once a week would've been plenty, every day was just ridiculous. The paper is pretty awesome though. New question: What are you reading? (or watching or listening to, whichever you want to share) I just started listening to the non fiction book group selection for this month Inheritance by Dani Shapiro (about finding out her father was not her father through Ancestry DNA). On my kindle I am reading Americanah, learning a little bit about Nigerian culture.

Here is a classic for you: cats or dogs. I like dogs, I'm definitely a cat person. Love the feeling of a cat in the lap on a cold day, and on the feet at night. I like both cats and dogs, for different reasons. Cats are easier to care for and there is nothing more soothing than a purring cat. Dogs are more fun. Love watching their antics. We have both dogs and cats but they do not live in the house. They provide rodent control from the garage. What's your favourite season to scrap and your least favourite? Summer is usually my fav season to scrap, especially if I get to see and photograph the grandkids doing all the fun things they do outdoors, camping and hiking adventures, bike rides, beach antics. I have a hard time scrapping spring. Around here, everything is pretty drab once the snow goes. Often have interesting Easter pic's, but that's about it. New question-what scrappy thing do you want to try, but just haven’t - my answer is 9x12 page size...i have all the things...but haven’t done anything yet. There are alot of mixed media tricks I would like to learn to create those translucent colours layered to give the background so much depth. Still working on clustering... Morning person or night owl? I am definitely a morning person. I used to prefer scrapping from 7:00 to 10:00AM, but recently that has moved to 9:00 to noon. . My question: What's the last craft supply you have bought? My Hero April kit and some ECD dies on sale New question: What are you reading? I am reading an historical novel by The Wolf of Wessex by Mathew Harffy. Anyone who has enjoyed reading the Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cornwell would like any of this author's books. Enjoying the TV series Manifest. Anyone who enjoyed LOST would like this one, I think. And I have just binge watched two weeks of A Million Little Things, and moving on to catch up on This is Us, both very similar in genre and I find them both really enjoyable. Next question: Sit or stand to scrap?

Favorite season to scrap: Summer. Things just look brighter. It's easier for me to achieve good results with outdoor photography. Scrappy thing to try: I'd like to do more precise digital work, perhaps with a kit and templates. Morning or Night: Morning. I'm one of those old people who falls asleep watching TV at 9 pm. Then I wake up at 5 am and I know I can't get back to sleep so I get up. This is totally opposite of college me, who was quite grumpy if I had to get up early. Crafty supply: Some Orcal permanent vinyl at Amazon. It is some kind of leftovers and you are taking a chance on the colors they send. I love the colors they sent! The red and white I needed, a nice turquoise, the ever useful black, a gold (not yellow, but metallic effect gold) and others. I cut it to make labels for my plain glass salt and pepper shakers. DH not impressed. Oh well, I had fun. Reading: Atlas of a Lost World. It's about the different artifacts that have been found that tell us about early humans in North America. I just started it. News of the day: daughter and I got our second vaccination doses today. We're doing well. We're less sleepy so far compared to the first. angel97701, you have my prayers. You are always welcome on any chat.

angel97701, so sorry you are having some rough times but I have faith that you will get through them and grow as a family. Hugs. Thanks for popping in to tell us. READING? It's been forever since I read a book. My reading time is when we go camping or sit on the beach. I can't even remember what I read last year! We haven't been watching anything of note either...just fluff like "Bob's Burgers" and "The Great British Baking Show". SIT or STAND? I always sit. I rarely stand up to get a different perspective on my page. My chair is a swivel office chair on wheels so I can grab my supplies 360 degrees around me without moving

I'm reading thru the Red River of the North/Blessing series. I'm about 10 (?) books in and losing interest though. sit. My husband made my desk for me 20+ years ago. Its designed for an old school tower style computer on the right side and a keyboard drawer and everything! lol. So not the best for scrapping, but I can't get rid of it! Even though I'm not a Diva this month, stopping by to say that the last 24 hours with FASD brain has been $&*&^$#. If you are a praying Pea, please pray for our family. Praying for your family. We had a preschooler with FASD in our class a few years ago and it was rough. And that was just 2.5 hrs a day! News of the day: daughter and I got our second vaccination doses today. We're doing well. We're less sleepy so far compared to the first. Yay! So I said I was going to scrap this weekend and we got a new computer so I've been working on setting that up instead. Tomorrow!

Hello Diva's! How are you all doing?
So far, I have put together five pages and three cards. Spent some time putting pages into dgs's album I will be giving him for his grad. Haven't added up any points. Hoping that while I have Easter dies out that I can put together another couple of pages this weekend.
Can't believe that April is already half over!

Noooooooo, how can we already be halfway through April?! I have only completed three pages so far this month. I have another four pages half done, the photos and papers are down, but I have a complete mental block when it comes to embellishments.

I'm staring at a house that has somehow fallen apart this week and a garden that needs digging since we're definitely past the cold weather, and I too and wishing time would slow down this Spring! Happy Half-way Hello the grammadee, AussieMeg, joblackford schroema jjpeapea teacherlisa sleepingbooty kellyr21Is everyone well? Anyone creating? The gallery has seemed...slow. I miss last month when it was chugging along. Is it the season - people aren't scrapping as much maybe? Are people "saving themselves" for iNSD? I know part of me has that weekend in my head for an all out scrap-fest. Except DH's birthday is the Saturday and I might need to do something with him We were expecting to be away. Humph. Question of the day: will you have fries with that? Or do you take a salad or soup or...cornbread? What is your side of choice? I like fries OK, but they don't turn the world for me. So I'll often order the salad as a healthy option (beside my 2000 calorie burger) and steal a few of DHs fries! My side of choice would be onion rings.

Anyone creating? The gallery has seemed...slow. Yes it is a bit slow. As I mentioned above, I have several half finished pages (up to five after last night) that I just can't seem to finish. I'm really stuck on the embellishments, and I also seem to take way too long thinking of a title. And I blame you for that kitbop because you do the best titles, both wording and design. I'm seriously considering sending you screenshots of my layouts and asking you to come up with the titles for me hahaha! I don't usually order sides when we go out for dinner, because I'd prefer to have a couple of starters. But when I do order a side, it is usually sweet potato chips (fries) with aioli, if it's on the menu. And if they're thick cut, I am definitely ordering them.

I missed notifications for the past few messages, sorry! I've had a couple of crazy days this week, so I'm not surprised I didn't see the chat.
Sit and stand, I would prefer to stand most of the time but currently do a bit of both. And a side of fries usually works well for me, with ranch, although I would be happy to have good coleslaw or sweet potato fries or onion rings... I like lots of sides! (and now I'm hungry)
I took my first bus trip in 13 months (to the day!) today. There was an African grey parrot wearing a harness and leash sitting on one of the "do not sit" distancing seats across from me, which was quite delightful. I have been dealing with selling part of the FIL's huge vintage lemon juicer collection this week, and dealing with a magazine editor who wanted some of them to be overnighted to her for a photo shoot. Very cool! Except she messed me around a whole bunch too. I lost at least 2 full afternoons and had a ton of stress and I think I might've earned about $25. gah. FIL seemed pretty intrigued that a couple of his juicers might end up in Country Living magazine some time, and he enjoyed the extra visit from us so there's that. And I saw the parrot - that was cool!
I'm hoping to get a good night's sleep and have a relaxing weekend. We have hot weather and sunshine, which you just don't waste in the PNW! I made some progress finishing some cards from my WIP pile the other day but I think I will be gardening and possibly sewing this weekend.

I forgot to add a question. Do you collect anything, besides crafty/scrappy supplies?
I really try not to. I'm a little bit of a gatherer, but I don't think I have anything that would really be considered a collection except maybe cameras - I have 4 but I'm not very attached to 2 of them.

huge vintage lemon juicer collection *this* just does not compute in my brain African grey parrot wearing a harness and leash sitting but *this* makes perfect sense Strangely enough, as I scrapped this evening I was watching "Rio" with my DD, so it seems fitting at this moment! We did a group watch on Disney+, so she was at the sewing machine making some crop tops out of old t-shirts, and I was at my scrapbooking desk, but we both had our individual screens. Technology. Glad I'm of the generation that got in on it! Thanks AussieMeg, I do enjoy my titling. It is an important feature for me. Tonight's layout (which is for sketchy Saturday but it's too late to photograph it so I'll do that in the morning") is titled "Solid Gold", because it's my DD dressed up for an '80's party - not sure if you had the TV show down under, but it was a part of my childhood!
