Hello Linda , natscraps , azcrafty , ComplicatedLady , gramma , Neisey, boymom5 , angel97701 and catseatcheese and welcome to April!! How is it already the 4th though? It feels like this month is flying right by already lol. Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! Happy Spring around here in the midwest! It's gorgeous weather and I'm going to take a look at the photo challenge prompts and see if I can't get some signs of Spring photos today! What projects are calling to you this month? For me, I'm really feeling drawn to pocket pages for some reason, and I want to to get started on documenting 2020 and the pandemic. I was thinking I would be documenting every little thing when this all started, but looking at all I've gathered, that is going to be waayyy too overwhelming so I'll scale back. I don't want to be reliving this for the two years while I document it lol. Otherwise, I've got some photos I want to get scrapped and will see what I can get done. I will definitely be joining in on some of the virtual crops, I hope you will too! If you never participated, and want to, don't be shy it's so fun to connect with other people that enjoy this hobby!

Happy Easter!
I’m hoping to work on a crafty project with my silhouette. Spice jar organization, hoping to create new print and cut clear sticker labels.
Also, looking forward to my first subscription box from Scrapbook and Cards Today and playing with a few new samples.

I need to finish sewing DD14's Confirmation dress. Then I'm hoping to work on more 2021 pages

Happy Easter!
This month I hoping to continue on the 4 albums I'm working on. I'm currently almost up to date with our 2021 album. Doing it PL style has really helped me keep up with it. Then I'm also filling in gaps in our 2020 album. And I'm attempting to get all the pics gathered for our school albums form last year and this year. Right now it's a matter of finding the time. So far this weekend I've gotten 4 PL pages done for 2021!

Happy Easter to everyone! I made pumpkin scones for breakfast, then we watched online church (it's what DS15 will do right now . . . ), and now a few simple chores and prepping my contributions for Easter dinner at the In-Laws. I got the easy part I think this year. I am doing Watergate Salad (pistachio pudding, pineapple, cool whip, and marshmellows) which is more of a desert really, and then apple crisp. I can do both GF/DF so I can indulge as well. They make a Cocowhip, that is basically cool whip made with coconut milk that was new within the last year that I can substitute in. Yeah!
I got one page done yesterday, and might work on more today depending on how DS & DH want me around. Dinner is at 5 so I have an afternoon to play maybe?
My wave petunias are sprouting in my greenhouse! Yipee, I collected seeds from my flowers last year and so this is an experiment. This is my first spring with my greenhouse. I also have baby broccoli, cucumbers, lettuce, African Daisy, chives, basil, and a few nasturtiums sprouts. So FUN!
Blessings to everyone, for He IS Risen!

Sounds like a lot of crafting going on already! I'm going to try to fit some in during the week rather than waiting for the weekend. I haven't scrapped in a couple weeks now and I'm getting the itch to get started again!

Man, my mojo is gone gone gone. And I'm hosting tomorrow's crop which is a good thing I think. 4 hours at the craft table will hopefully bring it out hiding.

angel97701 - I hope things are on the upswing for you guys. Praying. joyfulnana - oh no! I hope the crop helps! I'm finishing up DD14's confirmation dress this weekend but my girls are on spring break this week so hopefully I'll get some scrappy time in. Tuesday I get my second jab! And we have a vet appt for the stray cat under the shed. We'll have him scanned for a microchip and hopefully he'll get a clean bill of health. Dh and DD14 overruled me and NOT-our-cat is now known as Silver.

And we have a vet appt for the stray cat under the shed. We'll have him scanned for a microchip and hopefully he'll get a clean bill of health. Hard to beat a decision if both DD14 and DH like him. Hopefully you are not allergic!
Well my mojo has been on hold this week. I am in slow recovery from the events of last Thursday/Friday. Also caring for an elderly German Shepherd who has bladder infection, then her pain meds turned out to really make her "high", and now she can't walk well because she has vertigo. We've been to the vet twice in a week, and she's had subcutaneous fluids twice now. The vet sent me home with extra so I can do it each day over the weekend. All we can do is wait. The Vet doesn't think that she's had a neurological event, as every thing else checked out really good a week ago for her age, and her eyes are equal and responsive. DS is much better, but we had one of the hardest 48 hours ever as a family. DH and DS are going on another trip! DS really wants to go, and he is a valuable part of the team. He assists in helping launch aircraft (RC 5th Scale) and retrieving. Last time he was with 5 geeeky engineers that love flying, RC anything, and appreciate Legos. He will also have his bike along. Yeah, what about school? We figure his mental health and being part of something huge in the Research & Development Aviation industry will give him greater benefit. Will he miss some academics and have to catch up later, sure . . . but if he were at home alone with me, the chances are that things could easily spiral out of control. It's not that my attitude or discipline is different from DH, but he doesn't always respect me in the same way . . . long story, adoption related and so on.

She is incredibly friendly. When DD would sit down outside, she would climb into her lap for pets. Actually Silver has transitioned very well to being an indoor cat and there really haven't been any problems with the other 4 cats which is a relief. We found out at the vet visit that he was a girl, a senior kitty (10+ - she'll fit right in the others are 11-16-ish), and is mostly blind in one eye from an old injury but otherwise healthy. angel97701 - I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately. I hope the trip will give you a chance to catch your breath. You are in my prayers

Awww Linda you have a new NOT your cat! angel97701 I'm sorry to hear your dog is having issues. But yay for another father/son trip! It sounds like your son really enjoys them and I'm with you about the missed school. Sometimes other things can be more important. Work has been beyond crazy and the past week I've been so drained I didn't even feel like chatting here. I had a pretty full scrappy day today with my mom and niece on google and then popped into the crop for a bit tonight. I hope (fingers crossed) that I can find some real mojo before the month ends. I hope everyone is having a good month so far! I can't believe how fast it's going!

It was touch and go for about 2 hours, but DS finally decided he would go on the trip with his Dad as they test fly the new system. NASA will even be there to document the project. With his current mental health and his challenging attitude towards me it was a hard call to not let him go or to MAKE him go. In the end he did pack his clothing and they are on their way. I am relieved! As of yesterday he wasn't going so this afternoon we installed three locking doorknobs on rooms in our home to prevent his access. Still glad that we did that as he does not respect boundaries.

So thankful to get so much accomplished today. Hired help and have my outdoor garden close to ready to plant when it is warm enough. Compost made over the last year dug into the raised beds, straw moved to help with weed mitigation, and pond liner left-overs re-established for weed mitigation. Hoses are hooked up, just need to lay out drip lines as I actually plant. Irrigation is up and running with no glitches! (Pro-active on this one had a repair done back in February!) Cleaned up front yard ready to plant new marigold seeds, lawns mowed and the first irrigation water of the year on the fields. Just have the backyard, we didn't get to that today, but it's probably the easiest one to get cleaned up compared to out front. I am exhausted!
If I get all these chores done now then I have the weekend to play without guilt!
DS seems to be doing well, although the other grown-ups of the group don't have all their jobs done so they aren't ready to fly yet. Makes DH very frustrated. DS's case manager at school is totally understanding, and believes in experiential learning.
I have another hired hand coming tomorrow to help clean the lego room (playroom, TV room . . . you get the idea). I want to get all the Legos cleaned and the built ones dusted, and get it organized while DS is away. Then it is done and easier to keep up? I can always hope!

angel97701 - sounds like you've accomplished a ton today and have good plans for tomorrow. Sorry that the adults on the trip aren't up to speed - hopefully that changes soon. Glad your DS is doing well. I'm working on a low-creativity project - not a ton of points - just 21/page (1 for making, 20 for 8.5x11) but I've done 28 pages in the past two days. I've gathered all the 8x10s (and a few 5x7s) - the school pictures and other professional pictures - and I'm putting them in an album, chronologically (1991 - now) - just matted with a little bit of journalling (name, date, occasion, place). And I sorted out the duplicates - gave copies to the kids, was going to toss the extras but DH took them - well, at least they aren't in my space.

Good Morning! Sorry I've been MIA lately. My job is just so demanding right now and leaving little energy for anything else. Especially scrapping I signed up for Shimelle's new class and the new Allison Davis class and I'm wondering what I was thinking! At least they are self paced in the end, so I don't have to keep up lol. I got my second vaccine dose Wednesday and so far so good, no real symptoms except for being extra tired and low energy and a little achy. But that could be the job as well lol. angel97701 I'm so sorry DS is so challenging right now. I'm not sure how long the legos will stay tidy though lol. Linda how are you liking your new craft room? I'm struggling with finding a place to scrap where I can leave things out and a nosy cat will them alone lol.

joyfulnana - glad you've gotten your second dose - sorry work is still so busy and exhausting. The classes sound good. I'm loving my new craft space - I still need DH to build the rest of my cubes so I can finish organising it but it's great to have space for all my stuff. The cats mostly stay off the scrap table but there's always one or more cats in here. Mini likes to sit on the treadle sewing machine cabinet and Silver likes to be on my lap.

Consider installing cat beds in your craft space, I have one and it is Coconut kittie's favorite spot. Unless she is sitting in my craft chair, LOL!
Off to get some more chores done before my hired help to do the Lego room comes. Then maybe some crafting? I have a card to do for Imagine, it is due on the 25th and I usually try to be early but not this month!
I'm a little sore from the work, and I walked over 23,000 steps yesterday. But the hired help was excellent and worked very hard at doing the back-breaking lifting and turning chores, I did the "light duty" but was outside the whole time. He appreciated that as then he didn't have to come find me to know what he was supposed to do next. I hope this afternoon goes as well.

Sad news to share about Silver - she started having seizures very early Sunday morning and while we took her to the nearest emergency vet (abt an hour away), she passed shortly after we got there. Vet thought probably a stroke or brain tumour. We only had her a short time but she was loved - especially by DD14 I just toted up my points since I finished my portrait album - and realised I never added up my points for anything else either. So that's done now. Next up is organising recent photo downloads and ordering photos. angel97701 - how did the Lego room organisation go?

Wow, what a week! The LEGO room is about 1/2 done with two of us working 4 hours each, then I put in another 3 hours so far. Irrigation pipe came apart again so I had to go repair it. Both the little tractor and lawn mower needed to be moved and the flat tire blown up with the air compressor. I'm moving the long line, it's a work-out of about 15 minutes each day. This morning the little tractor blew something and won't start so I had to use the mower . . . and we had a bunch of ice as it froze overnight. I'm glad I had the system running so it didn't freeze anything. The mower got stuck so I waited till all the ice melted and the line was empty before I tried to move it again. Did my usual walk through the yards to clean up after four German Shepherds. Replanted my cucumbers that will mature in the green house and will need to start some more shortly to plant outside. In general our last freeze date is around June 1st, so I have a few more weeks! Having my green house is pretty special, it was a new addition late last summer.
So had my hair appointment, love my hair as the grey is growing in nicely. It's the new COVID thing now, and mine is blending nicely, and is a pretty steel grey color. Just a few more months and the last of my color will grow out and get trimmed off. I waited about 9 months to get my hair done after the Covid shut downs. Then a few errands.
Headed to the dentist. It was supposed to be DS's appointment to have his tooth filled from the root canal he had 2 weeks ago. But they are still in So Cal doing flight testing. So I changed it to me, as I"ve had a tooth bothering me for a few weeks. I was in about 4 months ago and it was fine, but the dentist thought it most likely had a crack that we couldn't see in the Xray. He recommended extraction as the likely hood of re-doing the root canal wasn't going to work based on his physical exam of the tooth. So I said yes, and then he said he could do it right then! Wow, I was his last patient of the day and he stayed an extra 20 minutes along with his staff to get it done right. As it turns out, he was right there was bone missing that can't be seen in the Xray in an area that is very hard to heal. There was also a small infection that he cleaned out. So here I sit with a slightly puffy check and throbbing jaw. But it is on the mend, numb and done as I said a few hours ago.
Dentist orders, quiet activities for at least the next 24 hours . . . crafting is a quiet activity right? That means finishing the LEGO room will have to wait as will the vacuuming and such too!
Big bonus? My Gemini arrived today! Set it up in a spot but am too tired to actually give it a go, think it's bedtime now. One more night on my mattress and the new one will be here tomorrow. Oh I guess that is another story! I ordered one last Wednesday as I was sick and tired of waking up with a low back ache. Chiro said it was the mattress. So I went mattress shopping, figured better to beg forgiveness than ask permission. But as I laid on the very expensive mattress I did call DH and tell him, he kindly said get what is best for your back, it doesn't matter if I lay on it first, I trust you! How sweet!
And really good news is that Sable is back on her own four feet, so glad, as I'm not supposed to lift anything, or put me head below my heart for a few days to let my mouth heal.
Boys will be home either Thursday night or Friday as things stand now . . . we'll see. It's a long drive!

OH Linda I'm so sorry about Silver!! Even though DD is sad, Silver was so lucky to have found her and have a loving home in the end. I'm glad you've been able to scrap and get things done with the 8x10's I have a feeling our team will need the points lol. angel97701 sounds like you have a busy, very productive week with lots going on! I stopped coloring my hair at 50 because I didn't want the hassle or upkeep. I've got a pretty cool gray streak at the nape of my neck. I'm ready for it to all be gray though lol. How exciting about the gemini! I got a spellbinder manual cutter and one set of dies a couple weeks ago but haven't played with it really. I'm sorry I haven't been around much. And I know the new buzzword right now is "languishing" but man that is exactly what's happening. I'm tired. Tired of things being so busy at work leaving me no mental energy for anything once I'm done for the day/week. It's completely stolen my mojo and desire to scrap, or socialize or be chatty. I'm ready for this pandemic to be over. It all feels like too much for too long. Sorry about the whine lol. I'm hoping INSD will jump start me again. I'm hosting the crop Saturday night so I'm going to have to be doing SOMETHING lol. And I'm doing the new Shimelle class. I've watched the first video (number 4 goes up today ) and have tried to pick papers for it. That class is way outside my comfort zone, so it's slow going, but I'm determined to finish it. And I'm also going to be popping into some of the other crops this weekend. It's been a couple weeks and I miss the peas I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

angel97701 - wow do you ever slow down? I hope the mouth heals easily and quickly. Congratulations on the Gemini and mattress! joyfulnana - sorry about the languishing...I think it's pretty common at this point. Looking forward to iNSD I got photos ordered and picked up yesterday. I still have one more batch to order but there are a TON of photos and I'll need to figure out which ones I want to actually scrap (we had three cameras going - mine, dh's and dd's) Did some organising in the craft room and found a few more pics for the portrait album now that I've scanned it, lol. So hopefully can get those done today as well as sort the photos I just had printed.

I got the portrait album done plus a couple of random layouts - one from 2018 (DD's cap and gown pic) and one from Fall 2006 (DD20's soccer team photos - her soccer album has been done for ages as Spring 2006 was her last season - but apparently these got misplaced).
Now I'm working on DS's Hawaii album - got 5 pages done today.
total for the month = 2145
