I signed up. I really enjoyed the class and structure last time. Anybody have one sketch that you can’t wait to use? For me it’s number 8. I love that I can use ALL the papers and not have to pick one-lol. And I can see myself reusing it again. 4, 11, and 16 appeal to me the most. 4 and 11 can very easily be turned into two page layouts and 16 looks fun. I will probably stretch it out so I can use 3x3 pictures.

I was just making numbered tabs for the sketches (I'll add the class material behind the applicable sketch in my binder each week) and realized there are two Sketch #19's. (shrug)

I don’t typically scrap the small photos but am needing a kick to my lack of mojo. I feel like I am in such a rut! Will definitely check out the video & likely sign up. I rarely scrap smaller than 3 x 4, but I am sure Allison will show them as 4 x 6 photos also. One thing I love about the PL app and my Epson printer is that the tiny photos are easy to put in a template and create in about 30 seconds.

(shrug) I completely missed that when I was going through and noting all the photo sizes! Not to worry - there are 20 sketches in total, even if one has the wrong name.

So how are you approaching this class? Using a single 6x6 pad? Multiple? A few that all coordinate? Your oldest 6x6s? Newest?
I’ve considered all those and still haven’t decided. I also have a big stack of random 6x6 papers...maybe I’ll use that. So many options!

I also have a big stack of random 6x6 papers...maybe I’ll use that. So many options! I have a stack of 6x6 pads and a heap of photos from a number of different occasions. I plan to mix it up, depending on how many photos I have to use on a page, and I’ll choose appropriate papers for each one. As I have photos of my 2YO granddaughter from birth until now, as well as 4 ‘in progress’ travel albums, there will need to be a lot of variety in the papers pads I am using.

If 12x12 or scraps will work better with the story and pictures then I’ll use those. I’ve been looking through pictures I have on hand and matching them up with sketches. Next, I’ll look through my 6x6 paper pads to add to them.

I try to always go to my scrap bag first anyway but I think this would be a great way to use some of them up.

So I guess the equivalent of your big stack of randoms! I've never taken a class by Allison Davis before, but have watched YT videos of others that have. I'm looking forward to this as I am mostly a 1 page layout scrapbooker and the price is right!

The layouts I want to work on are for an old 12x12 family vacation album. Most of the papers I’m using will not be 6x6, but I have papers in mind. For the most part, I’m playing along for the general inspiration. Who knows how close my layouts will be to the sketches.

After looking through the new sketches I'm already mentally working on some changes. I had some pictures that would work with sketch 3 and started scrapping but it's already looking very different than the sketch. My feeling this time is that a finished layout is a finished layout. It doesn't have to only have 6x6 paper or look exactly like the sketch.

Last time I did all of the above along with using 12x12s and scraps and although I've only glanced at the sketches I expect I'll do the same this time as well. I'll start by looking through my 6x6 pads as I don't have many (less than a dozen) and several of those have between 2 and 6 sheets left in them, so I'd love to use some of those up this time around.

What am I missing? How are y’all seeing the class sketches already? Doesn’t class start in May?

I’m excited for the class to begin. I took her last class and probably did 75% of the sketches, a few more than once. Just curious, do you plan to make your layout before she posts her video or after?
I’m a very literal sketch interpreter😬. So I like to wait because she always adds so much to the sketch that I would never have thought of. But I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone so I may do some prior.

I enjoyed working on the sketches all summer last year and I think I’ve done all but two. This time around I’m giving the sketches more thought before the class starts. I’m thinking about how I can use the sketches that don’t appeal to me as they are and I have some ideas. I will wait until she shows her layout and the bonus sketches before I start scrapping.

I printed out the sketches she had for the binder and the cover page had all of the squares for the sketches, but only 5 or so actually appeared. Weird.

I got my sketches printed out and bought a binder today. Need to punch some holes then I will be all set. I wish she would make the previous sketch class printouts the same way so they'd all match.

What do you all think of sketch 1? There are tons of options if you're not interested in the shapes. I was thinking you could do mixed media or a cut file behind the picture. Or bigger pieces of layered paper if you're using paper that's bigger than 6x6.

I joined this class based on this post and I am so glad I did. The value is incredible. I can’t believe how much work she puts into it - the sketch, alternatives, videos, etc. thanks so much for starting this thread. Stacy

I'm not sure I'm going to like having a class on Facebook (it's my first FB class). I tend to scroll thru a few posts here & there during the day when I'm at work, so I'm not wild about coming across a random post or two for the class.
Maybe I just need to set a reminder to look thru the posts/videos on Monday evenings. Otherwise I'm sure I'll forget about it.
I do like the sketches & the concept of using 6x6 pads so I want to make it work.

I bookmarked the fb page on my laptop and iphone to make it easier to get to. From there you can go to Guides and then the week that you want.

Is there an Instagram hashtag associated with this class?
I see a bunch of different #s associated with her name, at least five of which are for this Allison Davis. I'm following all of them now. But I didn't know if you'll be using one of these or a different one.
