sueg wonderful layouts! I especially notice your enamel dot placement- that’s something I want to work on! I started by almost exactly copying Shimelle's placement in a couple of layouts. Once you've done that a few times, you get a bit more confidence about where to place them yourself.

LOVE what she did with the PAINT in Lesson 3! Such a cool look, whether you go with the half & half design or not!

I know! I never paint on my LO (might paint chipboard letters) so it will be a challenge for me.

Lesson #2 this one was a struggle for me to decide on placement of layers and photos.

I had a lot of fun with the painting today. When I first saw the prompt, I thought ‘ oh, dear, I don’t think I can do this’, and I had already chosen some photos that totally wouldn’t have worked with it, so quick change of plans, another set of photos, and off I went. I still need to think about my title and journaling, as well as how much more embellishment I need.

Okay, here are my two class projects... Class one: Class 2: Make sure you zoom in so that you can see the evolution of the drool. LOLOL I wasn't sure I'd get much out of this class, but I'm really liking it so far! I was trying a little too hard to make my first LO look liker hers (which is very much unlike me.), but I relaxed a bit in the second. I love them both!

Great work, Ladies! schroema, I love how you decided to offset the photo with the different activity. Creative way to solve the "problem". KikiPea, your pages are always so bright and colourful and fun to look at! Love the repeated doggie pic's: awesome way to use a multi photo design!

grammadee thanks! I always want to add ALL THE PHOTOS lol, but I’m learning to leave more space for embellishments, etc. Ex- the photos I’ve planned for lesson #3- I might be turning it into a 12 photo two page LO. 🤦♀️🤔

I finished my layout for prompt 3 this morning. I had so much fun playing with the paint and also finding papers and accents. I had nothing suitable in stash, so the paper is a pattern file from Silhouette that I printed out and the ‘stamps’ are print and cut files that I printed onto clear sticker paper to give a similar effect. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

WOW sueg! LOVE your page! Awesome colourful photos, perfect for the challenge. How cool that you found a way to use your Silhouette to create pp and stamps to work so well with them! I am amazed by people who can do this!

sueg , love the color and the detail! @schroeoma, love the clean lines and the green against the black and white (discovered I have no b&w paper in my stash, so need to fix that asap, lol!) KikiPea , those clusters are amazing...and your dog is so cute! Here is my LO from the 3rd class, I am currently pressing my 3rd page out to try and flatten it. I saw that someone in the class did not want to paint on their LO and painted watercolor paper and punched out bubbles. I thought that was very creative!

Wow your layouts are all so awesome! I've only watched the first video and tried to pick paper. This class sounded like it would be so easy, but it's not at all. It's way outside my comfort zone. I'm determined to finish it though lol. I'm hoping once I get the first layout done it will be easier. And I would like to have the rest of the video's watched and pages planned so I can scrap them this weekend. C'mon Mojo *rubs hands and blows dice* lol

joyfulnana - I found the first lesson the hardest. I have a problem choosing papers and second guessing myself as to what is the best choice. Once I started cutting, it all went more smoothly. I also remembered something Shimelle said (probably more than once) - once you have found a paper that works, use it, and stop looking. It saves a lot of procrastination!

C'mon Mojo *rubs hands and blows dice* lol I am hoping that after the first one I will feel more comfortable just being my Nike self (Just DO it!), but have yet to get one even started. Seem to be second guessing EVERYTHING. Have papers and photo chosen for the first, but waiting for one more element before I even start. Love the idea of flipping the halves, and like to work with lots of photos, but no clue what I will do for the second class. My fingers are itching to grab my paints for lesson #3, but I don't really have an artsy or even colourful photo to use. So many excuses, so little mojo...

I'm loving everyone's layouts! I've only finished my first lesson layout. I do 2 page layouts almost exclusively so I'm adapting Shimelle's one page layout to two pages. I'm also trying to use the photos I already had lined up in my scrapping queue. I'm trying to finish my younger daughter's high school scrapbook and I'm up to her graduation - only a few layouts left! So I'm using those photos and making them work with Shimelle's layouts/examples. They're quite different from my usual style but they'll still "work" in the scrapbook because I don't stick to one certain style - more like several styles. Right now I'm working on Lesson 2 pages. I only have about an hour a day where I can scrapbook so it's slow going for me. I have 20+ years of paper to go through to find what I want to use on my layouts so I typically spend at least an hour doing that. My cardstock is sorted by color and I'm quickly finding that I should have sorted my patterned paper by color as well, not by manufacturer/designer/collection. Re-organizing my patterned paper and embellishments by color is a big project I have on my list of things to do!
Lesson 3 is going to be a big challenge for me - I haven't used paint on a layout in a loooong time!

scraphappy0501 , could you share some of your two pagers? This is my MO as well, and any ideas for how to adapt the class pages for double page spreads are more than welcome!
@kendramage, is that you? Your page turned out beautifully. I love how both halves are so cohesive looking without the sharp contrast between left and right.

scraphappy0501 , could you share some of your two pagers? This is my MO as well, and any ideas for how to adapt the class pages for double page spreads are more than welcome! I'll be happy to try! I'm not good at posting photos. I did post my first layout on Shimelle's class board, on the thread for lesson 1. My user name is the same there as here. I just checked - my post is not quite halfway down page 9 of that thread and the title of the first page is Senior Cotillion. A little pre-warning - I'm not overly creative so my second page is a similar version of the first page. Also, I don't follow Shimelle's color prompts exactly so this first page of mine is more monochromatic than I think Shimelle intended. I fit the colors to my photos and I scrap the photos that are next in my queue to be scrapped. So I'm doing Shimelle's layouts using photos I already have lined up to scrap - I'm not printing new photos just for these pages. I have a bit of scrapper's OCD and have to scrapbook my projects in order. I don't like throwing in a random layout here or there. When I used to do that those layouts tended to not ever make it into albums. Oh and one other thing - I "shop" my stash for the most part so some of the papers and things I use on my pages are quite old. The good thing is that I'm finally using them instead of hoarding them for waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them!

Found your photo over there, scraphappy0501. Thanks! I love how you balanced the two pages. Great colours! I agree, we have to choose our own or we will never be happy with the results. Glad you are using the class to scrap photos you had already planned to scrap. That feels right, too.

I have had a frustrating day today trying to do the Lesson 4 layout. I didn't have the photos I needed, so thought I would just print them here at home. For some reason, my printer decided it doesn't like 4x6" photo paper. It kept jamming and at one point I thought I had broken something as the paper tray wouldn't go back into position. I finally was able to print four 3.5x5" photos on one A4 page, so I can go ahead tomorrow with the page, but it is very wasteful printing this way when I only want one or two photos.

I'm really enjoying the class. I've finished the first two layouts, hoping to work on the third tomorrow. I'm looking forward to painting.
I've posted my layouts to Instagram - I have trouble posting photos here, so I'll just give my Insta handle in case anyone wants to check them out (don't feel obligated): stuffthatstephmakes

I was finally able to print my photos for Lesson 4, and have spent today working on this. I’m really happy with it - I can’t believe I had paper in my stash that was so like Sophia’s Dirndl!

Such a sweet page, sueg ! Awesome that you found the perfect papers and other supplies to go with the photos, and the class. That PL card (or cut apart piece) is the perfect way to tie in your title with everything else on the page.
I took a quick glance at your first two pages, marg (I am not on IG). Love your use of colour and pattern to give each page its own distinct vibe.
I started out THINKING I was going to take on one of the classes here, but ended up doing almost totally my own thing. Shimelle WAS in my ear, though, so the colours come from the photo (even re-coloured a metallic silver word with alcohol ink to make it match), there is a "shelf" for the title, and there is a diagonal flow...

I'm so glad people are sharing their pages here as well. schroema I love those plaids on your mini golf page - perfect paper choices for these photos! KikiPea you do such amazing things with Vicki's collections. I love how you switched out the woodgrain for the b&w paper in the second lesson page, the colour and texture is gorgeous with your pup. sueg I adore the La Catrina page, your watercolours are so beautiful against the black skull paper and the photos. And I was thinking I might use that Shimelle purple ledger on the same lesson! grammadee the little hills are such a great take on the half and half, and I love the fringed edges.

This class sounded like it would be so easy, but it's not at all. It's way outside my comfort zone. I found the first lesson the hardest. Interestingly I found the first lesson to be the easiest, that page just fell together, but I'm struggling with all the ones since then as I can't quite decide on photos or anything else. And this much pattern is definitely outside my comfort zone!
