Everyone's pages look so good! Shimelle's classes look like they are totally worth it. I wonder if it's too late to join in? So far, there have only been 4 main lessons, so totally not too late to join in. And lessons come (usually) Monday, Wednesday and Friday so you’ve got in between days to catch up too! 😊

I've been having fun making the half and half pages. I've never been good about taking pictures and posting anywhere, but maybe I'll get some pictures taken this week and post on IG.

.....on this class, but I will likely sign up, if only to listen how she pronounces “half.” I love her mix of Kansas and British. 😁 I love her particular pronunciation so much! I got a chuckle out of today's video because she often goes quite British on the word (that I have heard) and today it was definitely Kansas only.

I really liked today's lesson, and would love to know where she got the Tigger photo strips. I'm wondering if there's an app or something that prints out photos like that. I haven't seen a photo booth in forever.

I haven't seen a photo booth in forever. She mentioned that the Canon Selphy Photo Layout app allows you to make photo strips. I don't have a Selphy, but I'm going to download the app and see if I can create a strip and save it elsewhere to print. I swear I also once made a photo strip using something like PicMonkey.

I haven't seen a photo booth in forever. I have the PM-400 and the app lets you create this on a 4 x 6 or a 5 x 7. You would just need to slice it down the middle.

Here’s my take on lesson #3. This was the first time I tried painting and I’m fairly happy with the result. I might add more journaling later.

Lesson #4 this one came together quickly. I was going to make it more layered and embellished, but I’m stopping here. I like the simplicity of it. Lesson #5 I wasn’t sure about the large die cut but I think this was my favorite lesson so far!

schroema the soft painting on your Amelia Island page, it' so pretty! The simplicity of the St Nick's day page is just lovely and I love how you used the snowflake on your latest page, great take on the inspiration.

I've been struggling a little with making pages because I can't decide what photos to use for any of them, and I don't want my pl album to have page after page in a row of half and half designs. I finally pulled out some photos for lesson 4 last night and hope to finish that today.

I’ve been really working the last year to get pictures printed so that they are ready for me when I want to use them.

So far, I have worked on photos from 2 albums, and I have 3 other possibilities to choose from. I am also being rather random in my choice of events/places I am choosing photos for, so for example - my granddaughter's album may end up with 4 or 5 half and half layouts, but they'll be spread throughout her first year, not one after the other.

I wish I was further behind but I have literally one page to complete from 2019 and I think one or two for 2020. I have several travel albums still in progress but so far I feel the page designs haven't worked particularly well with the photos I've got, especially since they are already printed. I've started writing a list of random stories I'd still like to tell and trying to pair them up with prompts. I finished my layout for prompt 4, shrinking the page down to 8.5 x 11 to suit the smaller format of my childhood albums.

Chinagirl828 I really like the translation to an 8.5x11 page. I'm trying to wrap up my DS's high school album in that format right now so I haven't done any of the class designs yet. Might have to try this, thanks!

schroema, you are a ROCK STAR!!! Wow! You are ACING this class! Love how you kept the painting muted to match the other colours on the Amelia Island LO and how you paired it with the facing page with all the different photos. I like the simplicity of the St Nic's Day page, and how you snuck in one extra photo. And that giant snowflake is an AWESOME way to replace the huge electronic die cut. And @chinalgirl828, you stamped your own style on that Humphrey page, too. Left love for your timeless page in the Gallery. I think I am intimidated by Shimelle's ease with slapping on so much stuff that all seems to fit in the end, but... I know that with MY mind, if I let myself go, I will have a pile of cr@p two inches deep on each page, and it wouldn't matter if I started with half & half, a whole page, or a sewn quilt for a background... Anyway, that said, I have my page for the first class laid out on my counter, letting it settle in my mind for a bit before I start gluing stuff down.

I totally understand this. I often cannot see past the initial patterns she has chosen but she pulls everything together in ways that just work, where mine would just be a terrible mix of colour and pattern. I love what you did with your first page and have left praise in the gallery.

WTG, schroema ! Wonderful pages! Again, that giant snowflake is an awesome replacement for the big electronic diecut. And I really like what you did with Lesson six better than what Shimelle did with it. That dark half really gives the eye somewhere to rest, and using ornaments for the circles has a really natural feel to it. I have to say that that video almost gave me a headache. So many patterns. So many bright colours. Thinking of using gears or something like that when I take it on.
Meanwhile, I DID get Lesson four completed.

Thanks grammadee! The green photo mat is a lot brighter in real life so I definitely needed the black to calm it down. I’ve really gotten into a groove with the class. Once I gave myself permission to use more photos, it really worked for me. Great job on your layout. The accents are perfect.

schroema I have to ask - are your snowflakes cut into characters? The first one looks a lot like Yoda, and the second one looks like reindeer heads. And I love the little felt flowers mixed into your column of embellishments on the San Nicolas page. grammadee I've left love in the gallery.

This one ended up as more of a 2/3 - 1/3 page due to the smaller size and the scale of the pre-printed design, which also meant I had to change some other things around to make them fit but I like how this one turned out.

Yes they are characters! We found these patterns. They are really fun but very challenging to cut out! www.anthonyherreradesigns.com/starwarssnowflakesYour page is very sweet! I like how you made it not quite half and half to fit in the design on the paper.

I haven't seen a photo booth in forever. If you print your own photos, Elizabeth Craft Designs has a nice photo strip metal die in their Planner Essentials collection: Joann's link
It's about 8" long and holds 6 photos.

The new class is up! I think this one might be one of my favorites. Guess I am more comfortable with the boxiness of the design. I can also visualize this extending into a two page LO, Maybe a big title in one of the big blocks...
Is anyone else in awe of how Shimmelle can just grab a pair of big scissors and cut a completely straight line for the edge of a photo mat? I have enough trouble getting my TRIMMER to cut on the line I want.
