I was browsing online at Simon Says Stamp and was super confused to see new items from My Mind's Eye for a Wild Asparagus collection because I remember they had a WA collection back in the day. I googled to make sure I wasn't imagining it, and yup, Wild Asparagus was the first collection MME ever released, debuting in 1999. From googling, it seems to be similar to the old line in color palette and imagery but it's not an exact copy (but I could be wrong, there's not many pictures since the original collection came out before the internet was ubiquitous). I think it's a very interesting idea to take a popular/iconic line from the brand's past, update it and release it again, especially since trends are cyclical. Other retailers have the line too (in single sheets at other places) but I follow MME on Instagram and get their emails and haven't heard a peep about this line. You'd think if they were doing something like this that celebrates their history as a company that they'd publicize it a lot. I'm interested to see what the Peas think about this idea! (And to reminisce about the glory days of papercrafting...)

What a coincidence. Just last week I was cleaning out a closet in my old office and found a stack of WA page kits. I have 8 of them. I prefer the embellishments they are offering with the new kits.

Not a whole line, but Simple Stories rereleased a line from maybe last summer (?) with new embellishments. I think that’s cool too, IOC the line was a great seller. I do find it weird that MME didn’t say anything about the rerelease.

View AttachmentI prefer the embellishments they are offering with the new kits. Oh wow! All that grunginess takes me back! Remember how MME had those spinners they'd sell their line in? Each space on the spinner had slots for two sheets of paper but in order to see the second sheet, MME made the branding strip bigger so it would stick up above the piece in front of it. I'd always get frustrated when I'd be trying to organize my scrapbook paper and that one piece was so much longer! I'd end up cutting it down, but it's kinda funny, because these days, I think the solution would be to create some sort of doodad for the display, not fundamentally change the size of the product, if that makes sense. Like if you bought DVDs and some cases were bigger than others, it would be weird! Ah, memories.

I thought that was a really good idea too since that line was specifically about remembering the life of a loved one who passed away. I honestly can't think of another scrapbook collection (ever!) that had that theme. IIRC, the first release was so popular, Simple Stories released it again and expanded it, which is a great example of listening to your customers.

Oh wow...there was some WA that I really loved. The funny thing is, now I am WAYYY more into bold patterns and bright colors and not so much pastels, so WA doesn't appeal to me as much as it used to. But cool still!

Very pretty! I remember the peas pining over that collection and sad when it went away. I'm actually wanting to do that type of color scheme in my laundry room if it is ever finished! It has a bohemian feel.
Apparently, it was a color trend from two years ago.

I recall seeing it in my lss and just loving how it all looked together and how the paper felt. I miss those days!

I used it for several memorial books and it's just lovely.

I don't especially love those patterns but I'm interested to know if MME have kept the heavy weight and texture from the original lines. I loved those papers back in the day!

We do have both the collections at scrapbookgeneration.com. And like you, I’ve been surprised at the lack of mention of the release by MME on social media. I was looking for some extra promotional images and couldn’t find a thing.
I love them both, but Gingham Foundry has been the most popular so far, I think because of the navy and gold color combo.
Based on their move in this direction, I’m debating begging them to just reprint all my old favorites. I loved those old collections. Nothing has compared to them for years, at least to me. Not just WA , but Lost and Found, So Sophie, Stella and Rose, to name a few.

When I did a big purge I came across paper and embellishments from old school MME and couldn’t bring myself to get rid of them. Do they still have the same textured, heavyweight paper? Just talking about this makes me want to pull out my stuff and scrapbook with it!

SS is releasing packs of embellishments for several of their lines from a year or two ago. I think they are called Page Pieces? Sort of like a page kit without the paper, cuz they have diecut titles as well as images.
As for MME, do you think that SSS has purchased the rights to re-do the WA line? I haven't seen anything new from MME lately, and they used to have several different new lines every season.
ETA Never mind. I see that MME is marketing to SG as well as SSS. But no public media announcements about their new lines.
