I do one every year but it's gotten a lot bigger, but I include everyone, famlies, kids etc. My mom helps me print. I create them in photoshop. It's become a family tradition. I didn't do it last year and they begged me to do it again. I include birthdays and anniversaries on the dates as well, so its very helpful. On the birthday months I try to include the person photos who has a birthday. This is the first year we have had every month that has a birthday. It's nice to know they do use them. It's become a big part of our Christmas. It just takes so much time because I do do it digitally and then we print. This is what I'm working on right now. It's a ton of work, but I am happy with it so far. Where do you print it? My mom has a 12x12 printer. We were doing 8 1/2x11 landscape size before. We switched a few years ago. We've also done 11x17. But the 12x12 was the best and the easiest. She has the wide format so it makes it easier to change to the bigger sizes and keep cost down. We print 7 copies for the 7 families of my siblings. This weekend I'm trying to finish my grids.

Sometimes I use a template and sometimes I do my own.

I think it could be an iffy gift for various reasons but the first one that comes to mind is what another poster stated - not everyone puts up calendars these days. The only calendars in my house are on the phones, the computer or the drive erase one with the family work schedule and it is magnetic and on the fridge. I would be tossing a calendar in recycle. Even if you don't use electronic calendars, I'm not sure something like that would be appreciated as much as one of those electronic frames that you can rotate photos through for the grandma to display in the living room or somewhere to view where she sits. I was in the house of my 90+ old neighbor just yesterday and she doesn't do anything electronic, but I don't recall seeing a hanging calendar anywhere either. I know she keeps a calendar for appointments and such, but the type you are talking about wouldn't be suitable for that anyway. Great suggestion . I don't see those frames as often as I used to in the stores but know they are available (just slipped my mind) and more pictures could be uploaded over time. Keep in mind that the person gifting the frame may need to be the one updating but that would be a double bonus, gifts and visits.

I'd expect that sort of gift from a family member and not a friend. I would also be concerned with having something that violated copyright law as well.

Yes, I would love it. Any way you want to create it and arrange the photos would be fine with me.
