Hey everyone, I'm taking dd#2 to look at a prom dress this afternoon that I found second hand online ... it's really pretty ... long and emerald green ... I hope it fits! I'm also doing some lesson planning ... we have moved to online learning for at least the next two weeks in Alberta ... so stressful for non-techie people like me ... I'll still go into the school on Monday so that I can get some support from the techie guy who helps me I posted this on Facebook today ... we all know how much I love garlic ... I triple the amount called for in any recipe! I think dinner tonight will be a skillet meal of pasta, chicken and veggies in a lemon and garlic sauce I hope you are recovering well brandy327! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everyone!

leannec I also use crazy amounts of both garlic and vanilla! More is better for both of these IMO 😂 it’s going to be 80 here today and I am giddy about it! I have list of projects and things I want to accomplish but honesty I probably won’t do any of it but will spend most of the day on my patio or going for a walk. Dinner is going to be chicken fajitas.

Dinner here tonight is lamb chops . There will also be asparagus, potatoes and baby spinach. Not much else to say. Life is pretty boring here at the moment. Football this afternoon was more exciting than I prefer our games to be, but we did win in the end.

Busy day (aren’t they always?). And since I’m a sucker for punishment, I made pancakes for dinner. Norwegian pancakes are different from American ones, and considered «dinner» by most. The rest of the family loves them, so once in a while I sigh, grit my teeth and get on with the job. It.takes.forever!

Long walk and it's heating up. Our Raley's O.N.E opened up this morning so I'll probably go down and check it out. I hate when they move everything around so I have to learn the layout of where everything is again. I think men decide because some of the choices make absolutely no sense! Dinner might be salmon.

We had chicken tikka masala, with rice, Bombay potatoes, naan bread and onion bhajis. I didn’t make a thing it all came prepared in a box from Marks & Spencer - just popped it in the oven to heat through ☺️ Hope you’re recovering well brandy327Have a super Saturday everyone

Hi Everyone, leannec That meme cracks me up. I am very guilty of to much garlic. This morning, my DH told me that he could smell the garlic from the chicken soup, when he went to the bathroom. cadoodlebug Let us know how you like Raley’s One. brandy327 Sending healing prayers and positive thoughts your way. Please check in when you feel up to it. Today I am going to ride our stationary bike, do some exercises, laundry for me and pick up around my house. My YDS wants to go on a car ride so he can practice his driving. Tonight is rechauffe.

With hubby and I having both of our vaccines I am finally going to go see my mom and sons. I haven't seen them since Sept. 2019. With covid a couple of our trips were cancelled. Our flights are booked for June. I am so excited !!!!
For dinner we are having hotdogs and baked beans.

Hi ladies! I just went back and read the posts from yesterday. Thank you all so much for the good thoughts and prayers. Love you all!! Things went SO well. As I mentioned yesterday, the anesthesiologist really made all the difference!! She listened to my experience 2 weeks ago and changed up the meds they administered plus used the sticky thing behind my ear. My first surgery I was in recovery for an hour and a half before I woke up enough for my dh to come back. This time? 3 minutes. LOLOL And I didn't feel nearly as woozy... no nausea at all. Omg, it was the best. I'm feeling fantastic. Not a lot of pain but more than last time. The graft site on my head is causing a headache a bit. The donor site on my chest doesn't hurt but it's SO tight. Lot more restrictions this time around. Absolutely no lifting of anything even remotely heavy. No motions like picking up a laundry basket. Absolutely no getting the wounds wet in any capacity... which makes showering a challenge. I can't go without a shower, especially right now when my monthly visitor is here. 🙄 cadoodlebug I'll see if I can figure out the picture thing on my phone. Can you resize pics on there? My phone pics are huge! LOLOL Today is nothing but rest. My MIL showed up with flowers and some brownies. God love her, her heart's in the right place but I did not feel up to entertaining her. She's still here, despite me going back to my corner of the couch. Ugh. Dinner tonight is take out. Our local summer spot opened this week so I'm getting fish and shrimp!! Yum!!

Well, in 3 words ~ I hate it. I am so sad, I was almost in tears in the store. The butcher who I adore knew I was sad so he gave me a coupon for $5 off my order. The Norwegian salmon that I always buy? Gone. The sugar snap peas and bagged romaine lettuce that I eat daily? Gone. So many things that we eat are gone. The store is beautiful ~ hardwood floors, lots of beautiful gift type items, etc. but I think they've shot themselves in the foot. I will now go to the Raley's in the town a few miles away or to Safeway which I don't like. I know I sound like an old bitty but I'm just so sad. I'll see if I can figure out the picture thing on my phone. Can you resize pics on there? My phone pics are huge! LOLOL Yes, when you first open the site there are choices ~ I always 320x240 unless the pictures need to be bigger then I pick 640x480. Hope it works for you! I've never tried it on my phone, just my PC.

Hi! We went for a nice walk at a local park today. We are participating in a 1k for a local organization my kids are a part of so we got our time.
Tonight is spaetzle, chicken, and salad. I bought a spaetzel maker so hope it turns out better.

Another day or a little of this, a little of that around here.
DH was hoping to get last minute Padres tickets but they are playing the Dodgers so I don't think that will happen.
Unless we somehow end up at the ballpark, I plan to grill a whack of Greek seasoned chicken thighs and drumsticks to freeze most for when I don't feel like making a protein. A Greek salad, tzatziki and pita will be on the side.

cadoodlebug I am so sorry. I would be so upset. I hope that they don’t plan to turn the other one into this new one. Could the butcher order your Norwegian salmon? And could you ask the vegetable /fruit manager if they could order the snap peas and romaine lettuce?

Are you able to sit in a tub with water to your stomach? I did that when I had my breast biopsy and couldn't get that area wet. I took a sponge bath for the upper part. I woukdncover the area with Guage, tape, then plastic wrap with more tape. Hated it but it worked.

We don't have Raley's here but I have to wonder who they are competing with, with this makeover? I mean, isn't romaine lettuce pretty standard produce in any grocery store? I buy ours at Costco because we go through so much, but can't think of any store around here that wouldn't have both sugar snap peas and romaine. I shop at a local grocery that has a couple locations and was surprised to discover one sells sole and the other sells catfish. I was looking for sole and told I could find it at the other store.

They have bags of romaine but I like the bags with washed romaine and purple cabbage. Convenience. Yeah, no sugar snaps at all. I don't think they are going to convert all their stores like this. We are the first one. They also have a brand new store in Truckee that is a ONE. Oh, and no American Cheese. I get that they want us to eat healthier but isn't that a choice WE should make, not them?

Continuing rechauffe around here. Fine by me. More time for crafting. I forgot to report back the other day on the 12yo and his day program at the middle school. Please remember that he had a near-total meltdown when introduced to the idea and said he absolutely refused to go, it would only be weirdos there, etc., etc., etc. Two days later when it was time to go, he was unhappy but resigned (his dad threatened to take away his laptop otherwise). When we picked him up afterwards ... you guessed it ... he loved it. He wants to go every day. I believe we will stick to our twice-a-week plan, and that should keep him interested and happy, I hope. It’s only for two months, anyway. cadoodlebug, I don’t know what Raley’s ONE is, but my regular Raley’s does a remodel and complete reset of everything about once every ten years, and it drives me insane. It literally takes me years to really learn my way around again.

brandy327 I am so happy that you are doing so well! My MIL is great for trying. I was wondering if they said anything about your head getting wet from sweating? Nope, nothing about sweating. But it's New England and it was 35° and snowing yesterday. LOLOL no sweating going on here for a while. I think our high for the next week is 65. And thankfully I'm not a head sweater...I have to be doing some serious work to break a sweat on my head.

We did exactly that - we put a good amount of Aquaphor on and then used saran wrap up and over my shoulder and then down over my breast and taped it all down. It worked out pretty well. Thankfully we have a removable shower head with tons of different settings. It helps a lot.

I can't figure out how to get it to pay anything other than the link... so here is the link... it's a gnarly scar so be advised... Aw, I was expecting worse. Blessings to you! i.postimg.cc/hGjMhyh4/20210417-094737.jpgMy dh took a lot of care this morning and cleaned out all the dried blood and grossness so it looks a lot better here. My surgeon cares a great deal about his work so I have high hopes that this will look great after 6 months to a year.

brandy327 Awe, You look great! I actually love your hair short. You have a beautiful face! Awww, thank you. I actually really like it too. I'm going to keep it this short for a while... until the graft is completely healed that is. After the biopsy of bought some really wide headbands and I'm thinking I may be able to use them to cover the graft spot when I have to go out. And as soon as it's healed enough I'll be heading to the wig store to be fitted for one.

And as soon as it's healed enough I'll be heading to the wig store to be fitted for one. The scar will heal, and you’ll still be with us, which is the important thing. When I was in chemo over 20 years ago, I never got a wig. Instead I wore these wonderful, soft, comfortable hats that were made specifically for chemo patients. They kind of have some extra fabric built in so it’s not tight against your scalp and you don’t look so much like you’re bald underneath. I just looked them up and I can’t believe she’s still at it (it was a one-woman operation back in the old days, maybe still is for all I know) ... but here is the link, anyway, in case you’re interested. www.softhats.com
