I’m old so I’m thinking way back.
I used to love a lot of scrapbook “celebrities”. I remember Shimelle and Vicki Boutin from way back in the day.
What celebrities do you miss? There was an African American woman that lived in New York (Nina?) that I loved.
There was also another person in Paper Kuts magazine who had a daughter named Daisy. I loved her pages. i can probably think of a dozen people (even though I can’t remember their names) that I miss.
I feel like there was a larger diversity of styles back in the scrapbook magazine days.
What people do you miss?

I loved the styles of Emily Falconbridge, Elsie (Flannigan at that point), Tara Whitney, Liz Eaton. I still follow them on IG, but they don't scrap anymore.

You are thinking of Nia Reddy.
I recall being so hyped about taking a class with Lisa Berenson that I had her autograph my CKC tee shirt. I also met Renee Lindgren and someone who designed scrapbook PJs. Oh I just can't catch her name.
Now quite honestly, aside from losing my mind over Lisa and her class, I have never liked the idea of scrap celebrities. I remember lots of them and am not going to name them. Helena Jolee is still on NSBR, she was an early CK HOF, very talented. At some point I became convinced, actually right when Nia won HOF that it was all a big preselection scam. I knew Nia was going to win because CK was looking for popular scrappers on the boards and Nia was heavily touted on Pub Board. I had lots of reasons for thinking that, but it was cinched when one unnamed scrapbooker, well loved on the Pub board on 2Ps won, which I saw coming a mile away, and the next year her bestie won, which I predicted before she had even submitted her stuff. Her friend coached her through the entire process. They both shopped to an LSS where I worked and I overheard a whole lot. I mean what are the chances 2 close friends in the same town win back to back? Out of all the hopefuls.
So I have no real love for the whole idea of scrap celebs. But like many, I love good insights and gossip.

ETA: Another one that is still around, but I always forget her last name! Jennifer or Jen is the first name. She had a son that died from brain cancer. I've always liked her journaling. Heart felt but not sappy or contrived.

I think that was Jen Gallacher and her son Joey who had colon cancer. So heartbreaking.

I always loved Karen Russell - and while I dont know why she left scrapbooking, a scrappy friend lives in her (new) town and they've moved from Oregon for Josh's military job.

Scrappy Jedi (I don't remember her real name but she was a garden girl and Peppermint are two I miss. I'm not sure that they were "celebrities" or not. I wasn't around in the heyday scrappy times, but those are two of my favorites who've left the industry.

I've always liked Cathy Zielske. I have both her Simple scrapbooking books These days, she has switched to mostly cards. I follow her instagram.
I liked Shannon Tidwell when she was a garden girl. But, her atrocious behavior and hateful commentary when the the secret Garden Girls board was exposed, turned me off completely. Never judge a book by it's cover. Her scrapbook pages were awesome, but her commentary spoke volumes about her character and who she is as a person. Cute on the outside and not nice on the inside. I haven't followed her since the Garden Girls debacle.
I liked Karen Russell. I loved her writing and journaling style. But, she no longer has a social media(blog) presence that I know of. If someone knows otherwise, please post the link to it.
In general, I am not a "scrapbook celebrity" follower. If I follow ssomeone or am a fan of someone, it is because I admire the work the produce, not because I am an obsessed groupie of the person.
Personally, I loved the early days/years of Creating Keepsakes magazine. The layouts featured in there were more my style of scrapbooking. Cute, bright bold colors, mixed patterns, more than one photo on a page.

I loved her too and took an in person class with her once and her online photography class they were both amazing. Her photography skills are incredible and she has a gift for teaching. She is probably the only person I followed for her personal story as much as her work. Living in Oregon and traveling to some of the same spots she did (-not because I am a stalker, but because it was the same area my grandparents had lived and we had family reunions near Shasta-) kept me interested, she always had such great recommendations on where to go! I hope she and her family are well. I miss her blog. I never really followed the “celebrities” but I miss Davine’s work from Studio Calico. And the lady that had the column for CK where she would tell you how to cut several pieces of paper and make 3 different layouts from them. There was another lady who did classes on 2 Peas who utilized lots of photos and scrapped similar to Shimelle I liked a lot too, I can’t recall her name but I can picture her face as clear as day.

My favorite was probably Rebecca Sower. Everything about her style and story-telling just struck a chord with me. I think she does art projects now. There are so many talented scrapbookers over the years that I admired: Angie Randall (who started PaperKuts magazine), of course Lisa Bearnson and her crew, Susan Stringfellow (she did lots of Disney layouts), always Shimelle, Erin Tenney (she wrote a book for Pine Cone Press "Small Collections" that I still use), Faye Morrow Bell who published in Creating Keepsakes, and Brenda Torgerson who had a wonderful rustic style.
So many more... What a great question OP!

One more to mention: Debbie Tehrani who started the CSI challenges. I haven't checked that site for quite awhile. Hope she's still involved.

I am another fan of Faye Morrow Bell. I wish she was still scrapping. I loved her style. Elsie Flanagan, too, and her product line Love, Elsie. Such cute stuff.

There was also another person in Paper Kuts magazine who had a daughter named Daisy. I think her name was Erin Terrell. Her husband left her and she remarried. I loved her pages and used to follow her blog. I recall she got into jewelry making with Daisy at one point. Karen Russell - I loved her photography, too. She quit her blog very suddenly when there was some sort of tragedy with her children. I respect her privacy but have always wondered what happened. Her last post was very sad. I loved the scrapbooker who's daughter's name was Chandler. I think her name was Shelley. Sullivan maybe?

I too really like Melissa Stinson and she was making cards and layouts for awhile, but hasn't posted anything for over a year or more.
I loved Karen Russell's photography and her storytelling style and was so bummed when she stopped blogging and doing her photography classes. I hope her and her family are doing well.
I still follow Tara Whitney for her photography, and someday I'm hoping she'll start doing family photography again so we can have her do our family photos.
I stopped following Emily Falconbridge because she's full in on the MLM Doterra and I can't deal with MLM'ers (with the exception of CTMH & Stampin' Up - I've never had one of the salespeople from these two try and make me start shilling their products).
I still follow A Beautiful Mess (Elsie & Emma) but not as much as when Elsie was a scrapbooker. I'm not really into the "lifestyle" influencers.

I think Lisa Russo had the son Aiden...I think later she may have had a daughter? I LOVED her style!

She’s not really a celebrity but I miss when Tracyxo used to do project life. She may very well still do it but I haven’t seen her share much in the past few years.

I was going to be a Scrapbook Celebrity, but I figured Lindsay Weirich was kinda like me except she has a lot of talent. So I just let her be one, besides I didn't want to clean up my studio. And now I don't remember how to post videos. I am also a fan of Gina Kirschenheiter.

Hmmm, a Stephanie from My Mind's Eye had beautiful projects, and I always enjoyed Laura Whitaker and Wilna Furstenburg's work.
I also really miss listening to The Paperclipping Roundtable. I can remember when my son was a baby, listening to those episodes while pushing him in a stroller while he napped (it was the only way he napped...I listened to all of their episodes, multiple times, lol).

This is so interesting. I used to get CK magazine but I never looked at who created the layouts. I know there were scrapping celebrities, but I never followed them and probably couldn't name but a few of the ones mentioned here. Shrug. Just preferred my own style. I sold all of my CK magazines on Ebay many moons ago.

They had been deleted, though, and I was never able to see any more than what we saw when it all went down. And I never saw any behavior behind-the-scenes like that while I was there, so they hopefully had learned their lessons. It was definitely eye opening, wasn’t it?

I agree with artbabe the garden girls gave you a pretty diverse gallery of scrapbooking styles, something that we don't see too much of now. I miss the days of going through the gallery and being inspired by all the projects, I'd really like to find another website like that. I think sb.com is trying but it's just not the same.
