Oh no, melanieg ! BOOO to expenses that limit funds for fun stuff! Ya.....I was expecting about $500 but they found a few other things that needed to be fixed to continue to drive. Its ok...Lily White is 10.5 years old. That is all I have had to put into her other than oil changes and a set of tires. When I look at it averaged over the 10 years, its doesnt seem as bad lol She will be good for a long while now.

This sounds like one of the better online events out there. Hopefully they'll still keep doing online after everything goes semi-back to normal. I'll be posting a review after these classes since it's my first time spending this type of money on a scrappy event...I'm definitely a "save the budget for supplies" type gal. But I do think Scrapbook and Cards Today has generally been a positive force in the scrapbook community of late. Seems to have good value in their mini kits. Lots of inspiration out there, lots of giveaways. I too hope some things stay online. Saving the expense of travelling/hotel to "attend" makes it much more "affordable"...I couldn't put out this money AND pay for a weekend in the city. Plus, they only come close to me once/year, whereas this way we can attend more than one event a year if we want.

I just had a $1000 car repair on Thursday that I wasn't expecting to be that high... No bueno! That stinks. After reading through the thread I'm signing up for the next one for sure. This sounds like one of the better online events out there. Hopefully they'll still keep doing online after everything goes semi-back to normal. I totally agree! A little FOMO… But looking forward to joining in next time.

SCT has already committed to doing online events through 2022, so there will be more opportunities to sign up for sure!

I received an email on Friday that I was off the waitlist for the June Create & Inspire event.

I figured they were long into the waitlist so there wouldn’t be a way to make it ... I’ll send an email!

I did both of the last two and they were pulling folks off the waitlist the week before the events. They create ~ 20 extra supply boxes in case some are lost or damaged. Once they confirm how many of those are not needed, they offer the extras to the waitlist.
That and sometimes people just drop. I got into the April event a month before from the waitlist.

I got my invoice today too. Wowzers! I hope it's worth it! I am looking forward to some scrappy time, even though it's months away. I need to put in for time off work!
The $52 for shipping was a little bit of a shock.

The $52 for shipping was a little bit of a shock.Well if you think about it, that's $2/lb. shipped. It would cost more than that if it was shipped out a 1lb. box x13 (and then x2 for two events). So there is savings there, it's just feels like a lot because you are getting a lot. ETA: The boxes weigh ~13lbs. each.

I did two, the card ($28) and the holiday one ($24). They did say that shipping could not be combined for those two. I'm okay with it. If it's not worth it they'll hear about it LOL

MDscrapaholic, is that Canadian or US dollars? If it is Canadian, it might be cheaper than you think...
I have not yet received my invoice, but I guess they are busy getting them all out this week. They may be doing international first, and then Canadian? I have confirmation that I am registered for two events.

You and me, both, melanieg! These days, I get way more surprises than I used to. I tell myself that it's because I KNOW so much that the new stuff just slips off the top of the pile and blows away LOL... Invoice received and paid this morning. Just one shipping bill for both November events. Don't know if that means they will be shipped together?

This weekend was a lot of fun.
It’s my first foray into the SCT events, so I have nothing to compare it to. There was a LOT of product in our boxes. Enough to complete the classes and have a ton left over.
Classes. Some were prerecorded and some were live. After each there was a live Q&A session.
I created projects I would never have done before. Namely a homemade book and a tag album. That’s not my normal thing, but I loved the homemade book from Heidi and I already have a plan for Vicki’s tag album’s use.
I already have Shimelle’s class finished. With photos and in the finished pile stack to be put away at the end of the month. I didn’t even start Amy’s. It’s a TN based class, and I have a personal struggle with figuring out what to put in one of those so I’m not over that. I haven’t done Paige’s yet, but that’s because I was busy cleaning up the utter disaster that was my room.

I really enjoyed the SCT Create & Inspire event. Tons of product, and a lot left over even after the classes are completed. I love making handmade mini books (and have made a lot) and I learned something new from Heidi's class. Vicki's tag book was easy enough to put together even though there are a lot of parts. She included a small foray into mixed media which was nice. I need to finish embellishing both, but the bases are complete.
I always enjoy Shimelle's classes. She included a couple extra lessons (taking selfies/photography and hand lettering) during her class which I thought were great. I haven't done Paige's class yet as I didn't do the homework beforehand, but I will. The only class I don't plan on doing as intended is Amy Tan's. I want to try TN for a specific project, but I'm not ready to start it and didn't want to have a random TN that's part way completed with no purpose. I'm not Amy's target audience with her messaging, so I had a hard time watching her class and at times didn't give my full attention and/or turned the volume way down or skipped ahead.
This was the second SCT online event I've done and I'm signed up for two of the November events. I'm surprised by how much I enjoy these online events. I will happily attend for as long as they continue doing them.

Question for those who participated: What products did you receive? Is there a list or an unboxing video anywhere? Or is that supposed to be hush-hush?

Just got an email to register! I'd emailed to be on the waitlist when I first saw this thread and I guess they've opened up some spots today. The invoice is supposed to come in a week and I hope it'll be worth it. First ever crop of any kind, so I am excited
