In my efforts to be a healthier, I bought frozen fruit to make smoothies. So far, I've added orange sherbert and vanilla ice cream....but that's not really healthy. So my question is >> Homemade smoothies. What's in yours?

Mine are pretty simple,
greek yogurt, frozen berries (i get a mix from costco, i think it's strawberry, blueberry, raspberry?) maybe a banana if it's around, and a little ice.
sometimes i put some honey in there for more sweetness, but otherwise that's it.

I am allergic to most fruit, so my smoothies are greek yogurt, skim milk, kale, powdered chocolate peanut butter and a small spoon of cocoa nibs. My husband thinks they are disgusting, but I love them.

I've been using this recipe for years: Almond milk frozen berries (cherries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries) 1/2 banana 1 T protein powder 1 T flax seeds 1 T psyllium fibre 1 T greens plus 1 T Udo's oil 1/2 T molasses
I love it for breakfast and it really helps keep my energy even throughout the day, without the 2pm sugar drop I always used to suffer from.

I freeze my yogurt, then put it in the blender with frozen fruit and some protein powder. That's all. No measuring, I just eyeball it. Soon it will be time for me to start it up again as it warms up.

I make my own yogurt, add 1 scoop of protein powder, cold water and ice and a small amount of berries for flavor. (I’m a diabetic, so puréed fruit or fruit juice is a big no-no). I’m trying to lose weight, so I haven’t made a smoothie is quite awhile. I need to make a small one soon, because it does sound good,

The same as Above. I also throw in (based on what's in the fridge) a carrot, celery, apple, spinach, lettuce, beets, chia seeds, hemp hearts, mtc oil. I have a vitamix so it's all blended smooth.

My base is always:
unsweetened vanilla almond milk 2-3 handfuls of fresh baby spinach 1/2 frozen banana (sliced into coins before freezing) 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 1 TB flaxseed powder
and then I add in other combinations:
PB2 peanut butter powder frozen mango + frozen blueberries (my current favorite) frozen mango + frozen strawberries + frozen pineapple frozen mixed berries frozen peaches + frozen blueberries
I just got some frozen dragonfruit to try. I've never had it before!

Vanilla Pure Protein drink (Can buy at Costco in a case or a 4 pack at the grocery store) 1/3 of a frozen banana (I freeze my bananas and break them into thirds) The juice from half a lemon I spoonful of salted almond butter (the salt adds a little something extra but doesn’t make it “salty”) As much frozen spinach as will fit in the Ninja tumbler (I freeze my spinach ahead of time)
**If I have any in the freezer, a pinch or two of TJ’s micro greens (I freeze them so they don’t go bad before I use them up)

Greek yogurt...sometimes plain, sometimes flavored if I know I’ll have “coordinating” fruit. Fruit, a little milk and a little ice. If I’m splurging, I pour some in my jug, add layer of whipped cream in the can and add more smoothie on top.

We package up about a months worth at a time- assembly line style. I buy frozen fruit at Costco. We use either fresh or frozen kale and spinach. 1/2 banana @ 1 cup strawberry @1 cup mixed berries or blueberries @ 1/2 cup pineapple 1 cup kale 1 cup spinach We put this in ziplock bags and freeze To make smoothie- Throw in blender with 1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate, @1 cup kombucha and ice if needed. Much easier to have assembled and can quickly mix together in the morning. This makes 2 generous sized smoothies. Pour into contigo drink thermos, insert silicone straw so you don’t forget one and good to go! We have this every week day- sometimes it’s my breakfast or snack depending on the day.

My most commonly made on is vanilla protein powder, unsweetened vanilla almondmilk, spinach, avocado, chia seeds, and a little fruit like berries or mango. Less than 1/3 c of fruit. I don’t want to spike my blood sugar. If I want a bowl, I add frozen cauliflower rice. It doesn’t add flavor but thickens is and adds some extra nutrition.
In general, I follow Kelly Leveque’s Fab 4 smoothie formula - greens, protein, fat, fiber to create a nutritious, satiating smoothie that’s not loaded with sugar.
