Imagine being an LGBTQ American and having your rights questioned and threatened DAY IN and DAY OUT by your fellow "Christian" Americans.
Your rights to live and love w/other consenting adults. Your right to housing, employment, SAFETY.
Your right to live in peace because of someone else's interpretation of stories in their holy book.
Imagine.
Or perhaps you have an LGTBQ loved one and you don't have to imagine. Or perhaps you don't need to know/love an LGTBQ person personally to see the wrong in repressing the rights of other consenting adults.
Then get LOUD and fight and speak against this now.

Since this is in my neck of the woods, I guess we better mark our calendars for a little counter-protest. I've been trying to get DD to make me a shirt that says "I love the gays so much I started making them," and I'm gonna need it for this.

i will be interested to hear the actual turnout... there was a march like this in toronto the fall before covid. there were several hundred people carrying signs. interestingly, there seemed to be close to as many counter protesters. the marchers had pre-printed signs that said "Civil Rights are for Christians Too" and a couple of other slogans but those were really the only signs and they were being handed out by the organizers.
the counter protesters had WAY better signs, just sayin'.

Of course, they have to tell other consenting adults how to live cuz their book says to go out and preach their rules and convert people to their rules. It's not enough to: "I'll do me. You do you." It's "I'll do me. You do ME (and MY RULES)" - and to be on the safe side, let's LEGISLATE their rules into law too! |

That's what is so amazingly hypocritical about these people... the bible has more than a few things to say about adultery, and about divorce -- even spoken by Jesus himself (who had nothing to say about "homosexuality"... which I put in quotes because that word wasn't even in the original texts) -- yet they ignore those things because it might be inconvenient to them to look too closely at themselves.  |

First, I’ll be very surprised if he gets 80K to show up.
But imagine if 80K Christian men rallied to feed the hungry and house the homeless - things Jesus actually told them to do. And not necessarily by sending their teens on “mission trips” to build churches in other countries, but by voting to do those things right here in our own country.
Imagine if they rallied to end rape culture, gun violence, and child abuse.
But no - it’s always gotta be about the gays.

They aren't Christians. At least not how I define it. They are doing and acting completely in the opposite way Jesus asked us to behave. Love thy brother as thyself. Judge not.
What are they? They are a hate filled extremist group using the excuse of religion to do and get what they want.

So, they see it as "charity" when, in fact, it is busybodydom at best and repression at worst. Remember how many were killed to "save the souls" of the community during the holy wars. As the saying goes, if you don't believe in homosexuality, don't be homosexual (good luck). But stop trying to make OTHER PEOPLE not live in peace and happiness as homosexuals just because YOUR beliefs tell you they shouldn't. |

He knows that if they create a lot of noise and doubt by making people irrationally and unnecessarily fearful of LBGTQ persons, they have a better chance of willing spots in elections. Then they can further push their agenda of putting black people down and out, controlling women’s bodies, and eradicating immigrants. He gets a lot of money to do this. |
