Happy May!
Two more days of hockey, then our grandson and son fly home. I'll be honest - I'm worn out! We have had a lot of fun, but I am ready for my life again.
I have a lot of fun photos to print and scrap.

May is my birthday month and my lily of the valley bloomed just in time to kick off my month long celebration. I have a friend's 70th surprise party out of state so I will stay with my mom. That is the same weekend of DIL's birthday so I'll have to do something special for her before or after I get back.
I only have one crop this month which is on my actual birthday, so I will have to reschedule celebrating with my family. I may give up an hour of my crop to do it the next night.
I've been taking photos like crazy, because I take DGD to art class and gym class, and she met a little friend who also goes to both. Her mom and I have struck up a friendship and have been taking the girls to the park and to lunch. So there are many photos being taken. She is an older mom and I am a grandmom so we are closer in age than she is to my DIL. We are 13 years apart and she is 27 years apart from my DIL.
I hope I have more time this month to continue my organizing efforts. Last month I really lost steam on that!

I need to cut some of my Lily of the Valley blooms and bring them in to enjoy.

Happy May! I’m floundering a tiny bit with my memory keeping. I have done no 2021 PL at all and I’m behind on my memory planner a bit. But it IS a very busy time so I’m going to persevere and keep plugging away at it.

On INSD weekend I scrapped a few kitted up pages, and put March pandemic layouts into their album.
I still need to order April photos, but the days are getting away from me.
I can't find the 50 Layout No Spend Challenge thread, but I'm up to 34/50 layouts done on round two.

I did a LO yesterday and am really enjoying Shimelle's Half and Half class. I was iffy about spending the 15 bucks but I am glad I did. Seeing as I haven't been to a paid crop for well over a year, that wasn't bad at all. My sister also gave me a late Bday gift yesterday, a sewing machine! So now I can try sewing on my layouts. I was watching this video, it's pretty good, but I need to learn how to thread my machine first. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHYvHI2WcGkIt is called "Sewing on Scrapbook pages, part 1"

I want to check out that video. I have 2 sewing machines and I don't know how to use either of them. My scrappy news is that I get to go to a real in-person crop this Saturday! I'm going to bring all my loose photos and try to organize them by year. I'm not even going to try to get anything else done.

I have a ton of housework that needs to be done, but the heck with that. I'll work on cleaning this morning, then the rest of the day is mine to play.

I finally sat down and did this week in my memory planner. I had to do a page over again because of a mistake. I don’t love my pages this week but I tried something new and it’s done and that’s that, now I’ll move on. They aren’t horrible, just not as satisfying as usual.
Oh well.
Also I threw out a whole book of happy planner stickers because no matter what pen I tried it smudged on the semi shiny surface. Even 12 hours later. I can’t deal with that. It’s a journaling sticker that I’m supposed to write on give me a writable surface! ( I used my capital chic stickers with no problem writing on them ) ball point- smudged. pilot V5 razor pt -smudged. Copic permanent writing pens - still smudged.
What’s the deal people these are JOURNALING stickers I should have no issue writing on them

I'm going to bring all my loose photos and try to organize them by year. I'm not even going to try to get anything else done. This is such a good idea. I was looking for a photo of myself from my birthday in 1987 and rooted through 3 photo boxes and came up empty. I would love to have the photos organized. That may be something to think about doing this Friday at my crop. UPDATE: I pulled all my loose photos from photo boxes and sorted them by year this afternoon. Some years are missing tons of photos that I must have put somewhere 'safe' but now unknown. So I can search for those. I did not sort by month yet. But at least I know basically what I have left to scrap.

I woke up Saturday with vertigo and nausea, and I just couldn't shake it. DD thinks they were migraine symptoms. On the bright side, everything is packed up and ready for next month's crop.

Well, this week is a much better week creatively. I’m caught up in my planner & created a few cards.
In my planner I went back to what is second nature - the arrangement of patterned paper scraps & my photos. I just can’t seem to get into the sticker thing. ( especially with the smudging issues last week. )
And apparently I don’t like a ton of white space either. At least not right now. I love it in others work, and admire it, but when I try to accomplish that look myself I just can’t seem to do it. I guess I’m just a cluttered person. ( it’s not like I don’t have a ton of scraps to use! )
I also sat down and sorted & prepped a few more photos for PL that I have not done at all this year. But I think I’m ready to print January & February. Maybe I’ll work on getting March ready by the memorial weekend photo sales.

I haven't actually scrapped in what seems too long.
I still need to order April photos.
I've been jotting down journaling in a notebook to refer to when I do scrap again.
I like seeing the Halloween & Christmas sneek peeks, but it seems so early. They year is flying, really.

There's no rush on that. My stash isn't going anywhere.

And full confession here...the other day I was working on a summer/beach LO and I needed some more paper. I thought, "Oh no...sigh..I don't want to dig through all that summer and beach paper just to pick one sheet." I know things have gotten out of hand when I have too much paper that looking through it feels like work.

I FINALLY ordered April photos yesterday. With a week left in May.
I tried sitting down with the half hour I had free to scrap, but absolutely nothing came of it. I have a page in progress from a week or two ago (or more?), that is just background paper and two photos. Should be an easy scrap, but I couldn't for the life of me make anything work. So back on the shelf it went.

Ordered a couple of items from SU! this month to participate in a friend's on line party. The items arrived by courier on Friday, so really quickly as these things go. I ordered a tree border punch and the What's Cookin' bundle: What's Cookin' bundleThe same day, I received a catalog in the mail from the rep, sent directly from her. Wouldn't you know I would see something in the catalog I R-E-A-L-L-y want... This one: Hat's OFF stamps & diesHaven't placed an order with them in years, but if I hadn't already laid down money for SCT's fall events, I might just have ordered twice in one month!

This one: Hat's OFF stamps & diesWhoa, those are REALLY cute!! I am not sure how much the shipping would be, but I don't think 35 is too much for the bundle. I love that ballcap die. If I had not already scrapped all DS Little League pics I would grab that.

I fired up my Cricut yesterday and it updated. The update said it would better space the letters automatically. Well, it worked! I used a script font and it was perfect. I just sized it and cut it, no moving the letters closer together. Yay!

Thought the peas could relate....
I have a sheet of paper from a pad I bought ten years ago that I'm finally going to have photos for.
I'm more excited about using the paper (finally!) than the event itself.

I spent hours in my scrappy space today. I had the intention to clean up from the Mother's Day cards, and scrap!! I had one leftover sentiment, so decided to use it along with the keftovers on my desk to make a card for next year.
Then, when I went to put away the 6x6 pad, I thought "gheez, I should really organize these", so I did. Then I thought, man, I should add dividers with labels so these can STAY organized.
Then I put away some new purchases, then put away some collections that were still out from previous projects. Then I started to put stamp sets away that were out from previous projects, and yep, you guessed it, decided I should probably add dividers with labels so those categories can stay...categorized. So, that is where I ended for today. No scrapping done, and I still have quite a few stamps to categorize.
I did the easy ones, but now I have arrived at a crossroads with sets like Felicity Jane and the old My Mind's Eye, which are a mixture of icons, words, and sometimes journaling spots. I'm torn between trying to create a cross reference in my categories, or cutting sets apart so the words, images, etc can go in their respective categories.
So...maybe tomorrow I will scrap. 😆
