Okay, here we go. Thread #2. This one will take me through the end of the school year.
As we start thus thread, what non-scale victories are you looking for?
I think it would be great if I didn't have to push through a bunch of fat to feel my bones.

I think it would be great if I didn't have to push through a bunch of fat to feel my bones. I can so relate to this!! I'm also looking forward to being able to easily bend over and buckle the straps of my shoes. My husband and I booked an all inclusive vacation for early August (97 days away!!), so that's really giving me some motivation. I won't be down to what I'd like, but Im hoping I can maybe be down 20 pounds by then. I went out to dinner tonight and really looked at the menu and picked the healthy options instead of ordering what I normally would..........and I didn't drink any alcohol!! That's a big step for me. I've decided to make May as alcohol free as possible.

I had my first meeting with my nutrition coach. Working on getting 4 servings of protein a day for the next two weeks and three days into it, I am finding it a lot more challenging than I imagined it would be! She thinks upping my protein will fuel me better on run days and help with my goal of body re-composition. I am not a vegetarian by any means, but I definitely do not eat a lot of meat and I also do not eat a lot at all. Apparently two eggs count as one protein but I rarely eat more than one in a sitting. So lots of research into how I can get more protein in!
Also, I lost 1.2 pounds of my vacation gain/bloat

I had a good day today. After three weeks of staying the same or going UP (!!!) and still being very good, I gave up and had a few glasses of wine last night. I was down 4 lbs. I do not know how, but I feel SO SO happy. I feel like this might be a sign from above telling me to drink a bit more!
I twisted my knee (thank you Gus the Dog) so a lot of exercise is out, but Pilates is great and I have a friend who is giving me private lessons. My goal is to do that at least 3 times a week as I feel so wonderful when the lesson is done.

Easy way to cut some calories.

I've figures out what incentive I am going to get for my next zero (I've got 3-4 pounds to go)...
Some workout clothes. I've been wearing what I have, but I've never really worked out in the summer and I could use some leggings or exercise shorts or something (not spandex, I feel too fate in spandex).
What do you think?

I just shared this on the Workout thread, but I know some of you guys over here don't post over there . I just did such a fun workout. It's the gal I follow on Youtube, EMKfit. She does HIIT/Tabata type workouts (no floor LOL). Today she posted an 80's/Jane Fonda throwback workout and it was so much fun! I burned 358 calories in 30 mins. Here's the Link if you are interested!

I did Pilates today, but I didn't track my calories and now I can't remember what all I ate.

I've know this for a long time, but tonight was a perfect confirmation of my problem with food; I'm totally triggered by stress! I had a horrible, stressful day at work and all I could do as I was driving home was think about the chips I'd eat, the bottle of wine I'd open, the Crubl Cookies I'd order. I didn't totally give in to my stress, but did eat some chips and had a diet Cranberry and Vodka...............okay, I had 2, but at least I didn't order cookies! I didn't exercise today, but will do at least 10 minutes on the rower tomorrow. Other than that, I tracked my calories up through dinner and was right on track. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Sort of weight loss related, but has anyone developed lactose or dairy allergies later in life? I've had stomach issues for years. Lately, it seems if I eat something dairy heavy like ice cream or cheesecake, my stomach is a wreck the entire night. I did have allergy testing done a few years ago, maybe even longer? It was the series of pin pricks and there wasn't an allergy to dairy. Anyway, I'm not sure what to do. I recently broke out in hives after petting a dog where before it was just congestion problems.
Not sure if this has developed in the last few years? Ugh. I hate going to the doctor.

refugeepeaNot dairy, but I was diagnosed with Celiac two summers ago. I had no idea. MissChris at least you recognized it and made it a little less. That is a great step! Walked with Dh today and I counted my calories.

I am really struggling right now. Between adding another PT job and baseball, I’m having a hard time with meal planning and prep and eating out too much. I also need to adjust my workouts to start earlier and having a hard time with that. I’m just frustrated with myself.

Well, the scale hasn't moved this week, and the challenge my Applewatch gave me for May is one of the hard one's (walk or run 110 miles this month) but I'm keeping on keeping on...
I walked 90 minutes yesterday on the treadmill (the library is 3 miles from my house, I was seeing if I could virtually walk there and back, nope only made it 4.4 miles) and today I'm a little sore.

I am up 3.1 pounds this week! I had a bad day on Saturday, then ate a lot of pretzels on Sunday, and BAM. Monday morning- up 3.1 pounds. That's almost everything I've lost since I restarted about a month ago. Dammit. I did good yesterday and had a zero point dinner tonight, then PRETZELS AGAIN. Geesh. Once I start eating I just can't seem to stop.

@ refugeepea Yes I’ve become sensitive to milk products. I take lactaid when having ice cream and I take Florastor probiotics daily which has some lactose. I’ve become allergic to nickel, lilies, perfumes and most recently the adhesive to bandaids😩. Very frustrating. All since being an adult or older adult.

I just upgraded my WW account to have coaching. I made my first appt for Monday. I would have liked to have an appt sooner but there was one coach that stuck out to me and that was her first available. It sounds like she has experience managing kids sports, work, etc so hopefully she can give me some tips and help keep me accountable.
I've also started listening to the Weight Loss Made Real podcast. I like that she uses a lot of CBT techniques to work on thoughts and barriers. She went to the same coaching school as Corinne Crabtree, but her voice and tone is way different lol. Corinne has been getting to be too much for me for awhile--she comes across as shaming and burned out with people to me. Cookie Rosenblum is almost too calm and slow when she talks, so for some episodes I change it to 1 1/2 speed and that works. But I like her message.

It’s a journey, isn’t it?
I did not log or count what I ate this week...just did my IF (18/6) and my usual hikes. Weighed today down .6 lbs. I have 29 lbs to go, so, at this rate, it’s going to take a looooong time. But, I am okay with it for now. At first 18/6 was tough, but, I am pretty used to it now, so, I can see myself doing it for the long haul.
I just love IF. I love the way it makes me feel, and it really cuts my appetite down so when I do eat, I get full much faster. 18/6 is better for me than 16/8 was, because I eat a big meal at 1 pm, and I don’t need a snack in between because dinner is at 6-6:30. Once my eating window opens, I feel like I am eating so much food!
Best of luck this week to everyone. I am going to try that workout that was linked above! Thanks for sharing.

So the last two days I didn't eat until after 1:00 p.m. because I was sleeping or I was watching my kid that missed school due to NOT sleeping., so that's two meals a day. Progress, right?
I'm concentrating on NOT snacking at night and I'm still failing in the drinking more water. I am doing less pop a day. About a can to a can and a half.
So, water, exercise, and better lunches are the next things I need to work on. Still trying to figure out what is going to work best because of not being able to have a daily routine.

Start of the 2nd week of this thread. How is everyone doing?
I was down a pound, but I did indulge yesterday for mother's day. We will see how that translates to the scale today once I get up.
This is my last week at school so I have a feeling I will be less focused on weight and more on closing out the year.

I'm right there with you though! I could barely lose 3lbs. from March 28 to May 4th and then we went on vacation and I came home yesterday and I"m up those 3 lbs.
Whatever I was doing wasn't really working because I lost those 3lbs in the first 3 weeks and then went up and down for a month. I need to figure out what works. That's my goal now, figure out how to shake this up and get the scale going down. I've been running/walking and this week I'm going to add weight lifting to that. I'll figure it out. I"ve never weighed this much before and I"m not staying here.

Friday I ate too many slices of pizza and drank a beer. Saturday morning when I weighed myself I'd lost a pound. Ate fish and broccoli for dinner yesterday and woke up this morning up 1.5 pounds. Weight is weird...

I am doing pretty well, but I think I can do a little better. I have picked up a few of the bad habits I shed last year. My weight is still going down but I think it’s time to add some exercise and accountability. Right now I walk 3-4 times a week but I think I need to just join the Y. It’s literally in my neighborhood and I can walk to it. If I can keep up with the walking and add 45 minutes at the Y maybe 3x a week, I know that will help me reach my goals faster. I have lost A LOT of weight in the last 21 months, but I would like to get reasonably close to a healthy BMI. I’m 5’9” and a “healthy” BMI is 50-55 pounds away. I am pretty sure I will also be okay with around a 35-45 pound loss. Compared to where I started, that seems like a breeze, but the last bit is always the hardest. It feels great to be where I am for now—a solid size 14/sometimes 12 and a L/XL. I started at around a 22/24 and 3x. It’s important to remember how far we’ve come.

If you weigh daily, please track that in an app like Happy Scale. One day does not equate to gain or loss. You need days of data to see if anything you are doing is working.
