I keep one hung over the edge of the sink and one on the handle of the stove. My new puppy loves jumping and pulling them both down and playing with them. Cute and not cute. I’ve started folding them and leaving them on the counter but then the counter looks messy. Any ideas for tidier looking organization?

I have double wall ovens so I hang them on the handle of the top door out of dog reach. They’re also less likely to get knocked on the floor by people hanging up higher.

I have a great 1960s wooden ring holder that is up high by my cabinets. I have painted it orange to make my soffits. I love it.
I also hang a decorative (not for use) funny towel on my oven door. It's says name something better than coffee, you fucking can't. My little dog can't reach it. And my big dog has never bothered it. But again, it's just because I think it's funny. I don't actually dry hands or dishes with it

For the same reason, I stuck a Command hook on the side of one of the upper cabinets that border the sink. Once the puppy stopped his shenanigans, we ended up keeping it there for an extra towel.

I only have cats who don't bother the kitchen towels that hang on the oven handle

sadly mine are in use so often that they are just folded on the counter top. I tend to only buy coordinating towels so it can look as good as possible. It's part of our "lived in" look.

My mom sews pot holders on top of the towels and attaches a button to it so it can attached to the oven handle. I had a cat that was always trying to lull them down, so this works. She has been making them all my life, everyone in our family loves them. I will try to find a link to what I am talking about because it sure sounds stupid when I describe it.

the old house it was on the oven door handle and constantly falling off. This house, the previous owners had a paper towel holder mounted near the sink - we're not big paper towel users so I hang my towel there

My dog loved to steal the kitchen towel from the oven door handle - presumably because it had food smells on it. I have a metal rail next to the stove with hooks for utensils and a small metal shelf. I fold it on there so he can’t reach it.

I have mine on the oven door handle. I have 2 and when I start cooking on is on the counter or edge of sink. If I was in your situation I'd put something inside the cupboard under the sink.

Mine is draped through refrigerator door handle. Matches kitchen. My bff, who died suddenly of a heart attack, made me a kitchen towel with the crocheted top. That hangs lovingly from oven handle. ❤️

The towel that is designated for hand drying stays on top of the espresso machine. I also keep a towel over the handle of the oven. I don't have a puppy bothering it but some hand better than others. My BIL fashioned some sort of clip that my SIL anchors her towels with. I told him he needs to market that thing. Or make me one! It really is something simple but I have not replicated it yet. I keep one on the stove out of habit for wiping hands as I cook.

As long as they're not really wet, I have mine hanging from a hanger similar to THIS, on the INSIDE of the cabinet door under the kitchen sink.

Used to hang as well but new giant puppy likes to mess with it.. it doesn't really bother me too much.

I don’t like towels out in the kitchen. My new kitchen is In the center of the house and it makes the whole first floor look messy if anything is out.
So we have our towels hanging on hooks inside the doors to the cabinet under the sink. The left door holds a towel for dishes, the right door holds a towel for hands.
When the dishes are done after dinner, the towels go into the laundry basket (hanging f over the side of the basket until they’re dry) and clean towels go on the hooks.

We have a hinged pull out drawer at our sink that really is only big enough to hold sponges that haven't been used yet. I put part of a towel inside and have it hang out, so I can flip it over onto the ledge of the sink to keep myself from getting wet when doing dishes. We also have hooks on the sides of the cabinet by the sink where we have a scale hung up and some small cutting boards, I usually throw another hand towel up there.

We have 40-50 dish towels and keep them in a giant pile under the sink. We go through a lot since we do not use paper towels.

Before use they are in a drawer by the sink. I hang them on the oven door handle to dry. My cats don't seem to bother with them.

I hang them on the oven handle or drawer pulls, but they prefer the floor, therefore they are only decorative.

On the oven door (double oven). Short pup will pull it down when dinner is not served on time.

One each at each side of the sink - one handing over oven door handle. Usually another on the island - more as a "landing spot" than a towel

I do not like the sight of dish towels but necessary evil but keep them out of sight as much as possible. I sew a loop on all my dish towels in the middle of the towel on top horizontally. I buy woven material on a roll like ribbon but it is material. Hang it on a draw knob next to the sink.

We normally have two in use at any given time - one that was given to us by a friend that has a crochet loop with a button closure at the top so it can hang from the oven handle (generally used to wipe hands during cooking) and then one regular one that's draped over the handle next to it for other things around the kitchen (we don't have anywhere next to the sink where we could keep one, but our kitchen isn't huge, so it's literally two steps away). The clean ones are folded in a drawer next to the stove.

I hang one on the oven door, one on my freezer door (bottom freezer fridge for me) and one on a cabinet right by my sink. I love kitchen towels and change out seasonally or for holidays. I admit it - I’m a kitchen towel hoarder!!!
