I fell off my bike last week and broke a rib so I’m out for the next 6 weeks. I’m going to try to continue walking but, honestly, it hurts to even breathe at this point.

Switching some things up this week, adding in yoga and a hike on top of the strength training 2x week. Still plan on walking most days, but don't plan on the usual mileage.

I am a newbie to the thread!
My goal this week is to walk 1.5 miles before work, at least get 3000 steps during work and then walk 1.5 miles after work. I normally have my daughter to walk with me in the morning to help motivate me to go but she will be out of town Wednesday thru Friday so I will have to self-motivate. I have an afternoon walking buddy, so my afternoons will be great. My co-worker I normally walk with at work in on vacation so I will have to self-motivate to walk during my lunch.
I am doing the Tik Tok arm work-out...I"ve been doing it every couple of days but am going to try to do it daily.

I'm a little sad that I can't make it to pilates tonight and I'll stay at work until it is time to go to my meeting.
Hoping my barre class isn't canceled.
I'll make sure and walk a minimum of 5 miles.
I'm also wanting to order some small weights (like 1-3 pounds) to do some arm work.

Dalai Mama so sorry! Ouch! Be kind to yourself. There's no cast or bandage for a broken rib, just time, right? doxiesx3 welcome! Thanks for posting and best wishes in your exercise journey. My goal is to walk 40,000 steps this week and ride my bike at least 16 miles. Or 50,000 steps if the bike ride does not happen.

Ran my "Run Like a Mother" 5k this weekend and added sprint repeats to my training this morning. Still need to find a cross training program I like. I do not want to do HIIT of any kind but I am also not into yoga much. Need to try a few different things and see what sticks

I posted this in the weight-loss thread
is raining today, so no walking and my workout partner has a haircut, so I didn't want to go to yoga by myself for the first time.
So...I went downstairs and used the treadmill. At first I was like, I'm going 5o do 3 miles. That quickly changes to, I'm only going g to do half a mile.
I ended up doing just over 1.5 miles and I changed the incline every quarter mile to do just a bit here and there.
I'm pretty proud of myself.
I'm also planning on doing Barre tomorrow without my friend along as the class doesn't get canceled

Over 12,000 steps Monday, over 13,000 steps Tuesday, so on track. Off to a bike ride as soon as it warms up a bit. I said 16 miles, the husband's goal is 26, 13 out and 13 back. We agreed to turn around if the first 13 is taking too long.

I'm up and walking--sort of. I don't need the walker for now. My leg isn't as swelled as it was, and I can walk "a little" for now. Doctor says to listen to my body and don't rush it. Hope to be back in the groove soon!

I am struggling to get back into my routine this week. I just returned from vacation on Monday, and I also have a new and very stressful role at my company. Both of these are contributing to me having zero motivation. I'm just going to force myself to get moving today.
