I hope everything goes well for you at the appointment with the surgeon next week. Fingers and toes crossed that it's nothing bad.

Giving you a big cyber hug of support. I was diagnosed in Jan. 2020 and had my lumpectomy shortly afterwards. Followed by 20 rounds of radiation. The surgery was pretty easy to heal from (better than my knee scopes, for sure). Hang in there, we are here for you!

Update to my pea friends Had my seed implant yesterday. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. Lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy. I’ve been a bit weepy. Bought some scrap paper to fussy cut while I am off. Will be having a nerve block with sedation. I’ve always talked to my patients about them, but now I will have first hand knowledge. Any personal experience you can share?? Thanks for the support.

Yes, scrapmaven. How was your nerve block experience? I re-read your thread and edited my response. I'm a bit slow on the uptake today. I'll delete the above thread and post it here:
I've had nerve blocks w/sedation for other procedures. In fact, I'm having abdominal/spinal surgery w/a nerve block and sedation in 3 weeks. It makes the procedure virtually painless. If they use lidocaine then those shots will burn a bit, but you won't feel the surgical pain. You might feel some pressure, but you'll be very peaceful and very comfortable. You might doze a bit. It'll make the procedure very comfortable and the best part is that you won't have that propofol grogginess and weirdness.
I wish you the best possible outcome and very clean nodes. ETA: The meds used are Fentnyl and Versed or Dilauded and Versed.

They actually gave me nerve blocks for my mastectomy and the first of my reconstruction surgeries, along with general anesthesia. They have found that using a nerve block helps with pain post-surgery, even with general anesthesia. I had a bilateral mastectomy and sentinel lymph nodes removed on my left side, so my experience is different from what your will be. That said, you have my total support. I hope that they get clean margins and that your lymph nodes are clear! (((Hugs)))

I didn't have nerve blocks or seed implant, only titanium clips to mark the area as nothing showed up on the mammogram.
Sending you gentle side hugs and prayers for Monday. Keep us updated?

Update Had my surgery on Monday, lumpectomy and removed 4 lymph nodes. Everything went well and heard from the surgeon on Thursday. No cancer in the surrounding tissue and the lymph nodes were clean! Best case scenario! Will need radiation treatments after I heal. Such a relief. I am blessed. Thank you for the sweet pea support.
I also can’t figure out how to edit my title to say “update” lol
