Bought a Brita pitcher last year and stopped buying bottled water.

I will buy a case to have on hand, but it usually lasts me at least 6 months. I buy a case from Costco and it lasts FOREVER! I have a SodaStream that gets a lot of use ... love that thing!

Yes. Many reasons why... 1. Our city tap water is nasty. People have gotten sick from it. 2. Filter systems don't remove the nastiness. 3. Ds is medical formula only and has 16-18 7 oz cups a day. We have Arrowhead delivery for him. 3 gallon jugs. 4. Dd and I have Dysautonomia and POTS and have to drink 88-96 oz of water a day. That is 6 arrowhead bottles each a day. We recycle a lot. For us, it is a need not a luxury. Hi! I would love to message you to talk about POTS! I also have POTS. I was first diagnosed with IST. I also buy water, and we recycle. I drink at least 7 bottles a day for my medical condition, more when I work. Our water is also nasty, and no amount of filtering takes away that horrible tinny taste! ICK! Our ice is filtered, and I can't even tolerate our ice. I wish I could drink our tap water...that would be so very nice (and save us $$$$). Sure! Been at it for 5 years for her, about 1 year for me.

Nope. I drink right out of the tap. Our water is just fine. I drink almost a gallon a day.
I was in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago and bought bottled water (Aquafina) and my gut hated it! It’s always like that for me anytime I drink bottled water. My body just doesn’t like it.
We do have about 10 gallons of emergency bottled water stored just in case, but if I know a storm is coming that could disrupt service, I’ll fill every jug I have with tap before I’ll drink the bottled. If it’s not needed, it takes me only a few days to drink what’s in the jugs I filled.

We have a water filter upstairs attached to the fridge and the water is amazing. Downstairs I have my ice maker and it works just fine with tap water because I do not come upstairs just for a glass of water.

Almost never. I drink tap water and have a variety of water bottles in different sizes and I always take water with me. There have been occasions when I've forgotten to the bottle on my way out the door, then I might buy a drink while I'm out, I'll usually buy a diet coke because I figure that's in an aluminum can and will be recycled. I am always horrified when I go to Costco and far too many people have slabs of bottled water on their carts. No-one in Melbourne needs to be buying bottled water. Then I get sad because it feels like such a lost cause that so many people just don't care about the waste and the pollution. Just because you put it into a recycling bin doesn't mean it gets recycled. Only about 10% of all plastic get recycled. There is no way I'd generate that much waste, I'd find an alternative.

Only if I'm out and about and need some. I prefer not to buy water. I do love me some Evian though.

I drink 2 cans of seltzer water a day and drink filtered water from our fridge as do the cats. Our water is insanely hard here and tastes weird. We do keep a case of bottled water for emergencies but I won’t drink bottled water, it is so wasteful. Even if it is recycled it is still terrible for the environment.

She said she gets her water in 3 gallon jugs. I would imagine that for bottles that size, the company she gets them from is similar to what we get delivered every four weeks for our water cooler, which is big heavyweight plastic jugs that the company picks up, washes, sanitizes and refills. We go through about 3-4 five gallon jugs of water for our water cooler every month.

We keep bottled water on hand, but we get water delivered and primarily use that. We have absolutely horrible tasting water and since water is my drink of choice I would rather pay for good tasting water.

I only drink tap water and I use refillable bottles. I haven’t bought bottled water for at least 3 years. Fortunately I live in an area that has good tap water.

Very very very rarely. I can't remember the last time I bought some. The whole of the UK has tap water that is safe to drink so there is no need to buy any. DD2 only drinks water so even when we eat out at a restaurant we will ask for tap water for her - bonus that it's also free!

I have Poland Springs water delivered b/c our tap water is terrible and not safe to drink. Since I'm renovating, I had a whole house water system put in so once my kitchen is back together, I'll be discontinuing water delivery because the tap water will be safe to drink. My sister had the same system put in and her water tastes better than Poland Springs. I'll probably keep a couple gallons on hand in case of bad weather/emergency but other than that I don't like using single use plastic. I have plenty of reusable bottles I will fill and keep them in the fridge.

We have a water dispenser in the door of our fridge so we don't have bottled water in the house, however, we keep a case or so in the extra fridge in the garage. When we are dirty and grubby from working in the yard, it's nice to be able to just grab a bottle from the garage rather than track through the house. Pretty much word for word that.

no. we have safe, tasty free water coming straight from the tap.
my mother buys skids of it. we have "discussed" it several times. we are now at the "agree to disagree" stage.
my kids and i have metal reusable water bottles. i can put ice in them, stays cold for hours. i hate room temp water.
that also pisses me off about bottled water, always seeing half drank bottles laying around whenever people provide it for a party or whatever.

Yes we do. We don't drink it in the house (we have a filtered line at our sink) but we do have them for going to the gym and when we are working outside. I also really like the Propel fitness waters. I was buying a lot of them (I prefer flavored water) but switched to the powder packets. I HATE the taste of water in the plastic water bottles that are refillable and the metal ones are vile. I finally switched to a glass water bottle and am happy with it. My county has a very aggressive recycling program and anything that doesn't get recycled is burned for fuel for government buildings.
Our tap water has a nasty taste to it and we would have to waste about half a gallon when we turn it on to allow the taste to disappear.

I have always kept jugs of distilled water on hand for my Keurig. I have heard they don't recommend it for the newer machines, but I have had mine since 2010 (maybe 2009, not exactly sure), and distilled has worked great. I have never had any build-up in my machine, and it is still going strong. I buy distilled water for my emergency stash (same price as spring water), and using it in the Keurig means we keep it pretty well rotated. I like to keep at least 20 gallon on the shelf, and when we use a couple, I will add water to my grocery list.
We always have a few of cases of bottled water in the garage. Like someone else said, it is handy to grab one if you are working outside and don't want to come in. Last summer, we put my DD's old dorm fridge on the covered deck, and it stayed pretty well stocked with cold water all summer. We will do that again. We also rotate these and consider them part of our emergency supplies.
I do have a Brita pitcher in the kitchen that I keep for everyday drinking water and ice. I have a countertop ice machine because our fridge ice-maker doesn't come close to keeping up with our ice needs, and I fill it with the Brita water. Plus, the fridge is a Kenmore, and since Sears went out of business, it is difficult to find reasonably priced filters. There are lots of knock-offs on Amazon, but we tried those once and they were TERRIBLE! So right now, I have the "plug" in the filter spot so we don't get a leak, and all the water coming through the fridge is unfiltered. No one really drinks it but DH, and he doesn't seem to mind the taste of our water.

We buy it rarely. We were just on vacation at the beach and bought a case of it then and we'll keep a few bottles at home for times when we're doing outdoor activities and need to put some water in the cooler. I hate using bottle water and adding to the plastic waste and pollution (yes, I do recycle at home and wherever it's an option).

I keep it on hand for outings and DD. I drink filtered water from the fridge with ice--I like my water really cold and it is never cold enough in a bottle. And I hate the plastic waste.
DD will pretty much only drink from a bottle--I've tried everything I can think of to get her off the bottles but then she just doesn't drink water. She's prone to kidney stones and needs to drink lots of water. I finally gave up fighting with her and just keep the bottles around. She is diligent about recycling, but the more I read about recycling the less faith I have that it does much good.

DH uses a feeding tube and can only tolerate Vitamin water.
Our tap water is gross. It tastes very chlorinated. I used a Brita filter pitcher for cooking and for DD's dog. I drink plain bottled water.

The only time we buy bottled water is when we're having a party/when company is coming over. Or maybe when we're out and about and really, really need a drink. At home, we drink tap water. It seems so wasteful to me to buy bottled water, especially those really small, short bottles.

Nope. I use a keep a brita filter in my fridge. Bottled water is a scam, and the only time I buy it is when I'm having a gathering or on the road.

We are "water sensitive " -- not medically, but philosophically. Of course, we live in New Mexico which has water issues at the best of times but is currently in severe drought. We have a large "Zero" pitcher that is refilled from the tap very often - that is used for most water purposes. I have purchased a gallon of "spring water" for the times making pasta or something with a high water need and I have less time to wait for the filtration. I re-use a "Life Water" plastic bottle at my desk (I like the designs!) that a refill from the filtered water. We have "to go" water bottles with filters that we fill from the tap. They seal well enough to go in luggage when we were able to travel. While waiting for the hot water to appear in the upstairs showers, we capture the cold tap water and use it in the flower beds and pots. Yes - I keep a case of bottled water on hand - it is good for guests, service people, emergencies and "quick grabs".

No.
Our tap water is terrible so we have a brita pitcher we keep in the fridge and we each have an insulated water bottle we keep full all the time.
I do have a few cases in our emergency kit but we don’t buy it otherwise. It’s so wasteful.

No, I filter my tap water and if I need it in a bottle I have reusable bottles. I have long been horrified by the culture of just buying bottled water throwing away thousands of bottles each year per family.
