WooHoo! I've been waiting. I immediately went onto the gov site to schedule an appointment for my DS. No one would schedule him. I called a Mom and Pop pharmacy on the list. They told me there were a few more things that had to be done before they could actually start the vaccinations for them. They took DS's name and number and said they would call back when they could schedule him. I'll try again tomorrow morning.

I can’t wait for the next group to get approved so my DD can get it. Even though she is extremely needle phobic, she said she will suck it up to get this vaccine without complaint.

My kids are both ready for it. One hates needles but even she is willing.

My DD turns 16 in about 3 weeks. I told her if something changed, she would be going before then. I'm THRILLED - that would take care of my whole household.

My 11-year-old turns 12 at the beginning of next month, so we still have to wait, but I can schedule my 14-year-old, the 16-year-old and I get our 2nd dose next week, then just waiting for the 7-year-old... or 8-year-old depending on when it finally gets approval.

I am so relieved. My oldest (16) gets his second shot tomorrow. Looks like youngest (14) might be able to get his first on Monday now.
If so, that means all of us will be 100% vaccinated by mid-June.

She said that about 15 minutes after it was approved there were 20 parents with kids out in the parking lot trying to get the vaccine. Unfortunately they were all turned away. The CDC has to vote to recommend it, then the clinics can start using it.

So happy that 12-15 yr. olds can finally get it. Now maybe schools can require it for those ages and school can be more normal in the fall.

That mom and pop pharmacy just called me to schedule my DS. They said they are starting Monday at 11:00. I made an appointment for Monday at 11:00. I started crying after I got off the phone.

As someone who lives in an area that will NEVER reach herd immunity, I am relieved. I need to check with my son's neurologist first, but I think we'll be okay.

I can't wait to book the appointment for my 13 year old. They haven't updated their system for our county yet and they said to call back in a few days to make the appointment. I think she will be able to get it next week. Shots! Shots! Shots!
