If you can do a single crochet stitch and a double crochet stitch you got this. It's just a matter of counting. Mosaic crochet is relatively easy. You just need to focus on the counts I actually CAN do those stitches. The pattern I'm working on right now for a baby blanket is alternating those and calling it a lemon peel stitch or pattern, I think. I'd have to read the pattern to see exactly how it's worded.

my3freaks I want to show you my Christmas blanket by Rosina and see if I can explain. The colors alternate back and forth in rows. Where you do the double crochet stitches you stitch into the row below it. I hope that makes sense. Do you see how you create the image by covering up the row of the stitches that don't match the pattern?

I had planned this big do nothing weekend. The idea was to rejuvenate myself after all the stress I've been under. Part of my plan was to work on my Dragonbelly shawl. It is very easy and mindless. But I've got a total case of the blahs with it. It's too easy. It's too boring. Maybe I can't get on board with the idea of living slow. Ha! The more I work on it the more I just want the damn thing done so I can move onto something a helluva lot more interesting.

I am taking a break from minis and sewing to make butterflies for placing on a casket.
My Misters Mum died last week and the funeral will have a non wooden casket and only paper flowers and butterflies on top before the cremation.
I dragged out my parchment craft stuff and so far have made half a dozen 3D Pergamano butterflies, many more to make yet.
Sad to think it will be the last things I make for her.

I haven't been doing much crafting lately except for a baby blanket for my new great niece. I will share a pic when it is finished. I like it, but I have to say it is very different from any other baby blanket I have made. My nephew's wife picked the colors, and they are NOT typical baby blanket colors at all--off white, mauve-y pink, dark sage green and mustard yellow. Apparently, those are the baby girl trendy colors right now. LOL I would never in a million years have chosen those colors, but the blanket has turned out really quite pretty. I just need to finish one side of the border and sew in a few ends, and it will be ready to send off.

They are seeing the same kinds of colors trending in baby paper lines. I can't wait to see it because I'm having trouble putting those colors together in my mind.

LOL After my sister (the little girl's grandmother) told me the colors her DIL chose for the blanket, she showed me pics of a bunch of clothing she had already purchased, and it is all in those colors. I am not typically into the usual baby pastels, but these colors seem so weird to me. LOL

UGH, I thought I knew how to post images but something changed?? Click Share in PostImages, then choose the Direct Link. Then back on this thread, click on the Insert Image icon that looks like a little picture, and paste the code. That ought to work.

The pics aren't a perfect representation. I tried to edit them. The green is a bit less dark, more of a sage. This is beautiful. I always make baby blankets non-traditional colors. But if I make them for church, they have to be white. We give them to families when a baby is baptized.

Ha! My girls always say "Well, we weren't in the news." Not that they wanted to be but . . . My girls were spontaneous, shared a placenta, and were in their own sacs BUT shared part of each sac with each other. The sac is made up of two membranes (amnion and chorion). They shared a layer. Having identical triplets is truly fun and a privilege. And here is the short article gillyp: "NORMAN, Okla. — An Oklahoma mother gave birth to rare identical triplets on Wednesday in Norman. Stephanie Norman told KOCO 5 that the babies were born at Norman Regional Healthplex. She and her husband, TJ, are originally from Hobart and live in Blanchard now. Norman said the baby girls, Aspen Kay Norman, Kensli Mae Norman and Lakyn Rae Norman, were spontaneous Monochorionic triamniotic triplets. She said that means all three babies shared one placenta, but each had their own amniotic sac, which is extremely rare. Congratulations to the Norman family!"

Thanks @patter. I always smile when I read your "Mom to adult identical triplet girls". I always think what an experience it must be to have started and share in their lives!

Thanks @patter . I always smile when I read your "Mom to adult identical triplet girls". I always think what an experience it must be to have started and share in their lives! Oh yes, an experience and a blessing. They ALL came home yesterday to take me to lunch for my upcoming birthday. We had the best time. I hated when they had to leave last night. Jobs and their lives call them back to their homes.

@patter thank you for sharing it. I gotta ask... do you forever have the pea title of identicaltriplets? I like, just noticed that!
