I’m back from our 700 mile road trip. We saw a little bit more of the state and had a break from around here and normal life, got some fresh air. I even rode a horse for the first time in my life!! We did a 60-90 minute trail ride around the lodge area. We were in the Methow Valley, staying at Sun Mountain Lodge in the North Cascades/Eastern Washington state. I’ll share more (photos, etc) at some point. We traveled through so many different landscapes.
I didn’t even think about cardmaking, didn’t take any crochet, didn’t take a whole lot of pictures (not as many as usual, anyway). My neck and right shoulder, wrist and thumb had been giving me trouble last week so it was good to rest completely and spend some time with my head up.
Did I miss any fun drama on the scrappy board?

kellyr21, I am glad you are back to crafting/art journaling. Looking forward to seeing your pages and videos. joblackford that sounds like a wonderful getaway, especially after the year we have had. Good on you to try new things like horseback riding! You can claim points for NOT scrapbooking while "making memories". Check out the "Other" category!

Yes, and we were allowed to not wear masks for 90% of the trip since we are vaccinated, so it was a good reward for being patient and getting our shots. Our state is "reopening" at the end of the month (probably) so no more limits on how many people can be indoors at restaurants, restrictions which did cause us a few headaches here and there, but we got a good deal going away before summer really kicked off. And thanks for the reminder about the "making memories" points. Happy to see I could still contribute to the team while lallygagging around the place!

we were allowed to not wear masks for 90% of the trip since we are vaccinated I can only dream. We were camping the last 3 days, and all the "vault" (outhouse) toilets were closed, so for our sub-campground of ~100 sites/400 campers, we had 2 "comfort stations" (which are 4 toilet stalls, 3 sinks, 4 showers) - but the signage was for only 2 people at a time. Now...nobody was policing this... there were plenty of times there were 4 of us in there in our own stalls happily peeing or washing our faces. Except a few uptight ladies I met more than once, lined up outside asking me to walk back to my site to get a mask (500m, 1/4mile). Ooookay...I'm double vaccinated and I NEED TO PEE. because despite wearing masks so often, I still don't think of them in the middle of a forest Today, we are playing real-life "Blokus" to get a new deep freezer delivered. Bear in mind - our house is tiny and we have 5 people, 6 animals. Every wall, every space, is packed. I'm very good at tetris! The new upright freezer is 4" wider than the old. Meaning it won't fit where we had it before. Meaning 2 heavy duty storage shelves and a huge table had to be rearranged. AND...our stairs to the basement - there's a landing where we have 2 big shelves and a stocked "pantry" of canned goods etc. But to get a freezer down, that all needs to be taken off the stairs. My house - you would LAUGH. There isn't a room without bins of food, boxes of whatever, empty shelves, camping gear - it's SUCH a mess. kellyr21, Linda - I'm thinking of YOU in your past weeks' adventures!

What State were you in? We were a very locked down State during the throngs of COVID, but our camping has opened up just fine (State Parks), there were some places were the vault toilets were closed early in spring, but our last two trips were wide open. My sis-in-law, who has literally not been even in her own front yard during the entire time did still wear her mask at the campground, at least at first, but then when she saw her brother and I unmasked (and we had been very very good about wearing them before we were vaccinated), she took hers off, but you could tell she was still uneasy. Hope you were able to enjoy yourselves despite the inconveniences. Welcome back!

because despite wearing masks so often, I still don't think of them in the middle of a forest er, no, of course not... !! I wrote a long reply to you yesterday that the internet ate but in short, good luck with the freezer tetris, and yes, I won't be signing up for riding lessons, but I was very pleased I wasn't afraid of horses (I'm afraid of cars and most things that go fast, as well as many other things) and I would definitely do a fairly short trail ride or beach ride again.

Checking in on the divas! kellyr21, joblackford, MARIBETHR, nylene, natscraps, azcrafty, teacherlisa, Chinagirl828, grammadee, @zingermack, scrappyrabbitI've noticed some of us have amazing work posted in the recent pages of the sharing thread ( grammadee, scrappyrabbit, azcrafty, kellyr21, joblackford) and my appologies for not commenting more - life has taken one of those turns this month where you are enjoying a quiet wade in a puddle one minute and the next you're swimming in a hurricane, but I am enjoying the work very much. Is everyone else staying afloat?

Hoping everyone is doing okay. Hang in there, kitbop! I am heading off to see family for the first time in a year. Will be gone until Monday. Doubt if there will be much crafting for me the rest of this month, but I will be earning points NOT crafting, thanks to whoever posted that challenge! Have a great weekend, DIVA's! If you feel like crafting, great. If you end up doing something else, don't feel guilty, just enjoy the moment. And speaking of moments--if you have one, please pop over to the July sign up thread to sign up!

Hi kitbop. Have been traveling for the past week - so, no commenting, sharing, scrapping, etc. But taking lots of pix to scrap later! It will hurt my points (sorry team) but it's good to be away and w/family.

I'm finally getting my groove back a little bit, finished a set of punny cards that I had started months ago. They weren't that hard - I had already put together most of the combinations of papers and cut aparts, I just needed to commit and stick them down. And yesterday I got a new office chair, actually a swivel chair without armrests or back so it fits into my little space and I finally have the ergonomic height I need for my short upper body (I sometimes feel like I need a booster seat in restaurant booths!) and it's easier to get up and access the things that don't fit on my desk. And it was FREE through my local Buy Nothing group We're headed into a crazy heatwave. Seattle has hit 100 degrees (~38C) three times in a century according to a weather blog I saw, but this weekend we might hit 100 three times! With nighttime lows that are more like June highs. Hardly anyone has AC and our houses are not built for hot weather. It's going to be bad. Worried what this might mean for our actual summer in July and August too.

Is everyone else staying afloat? I am, slowed down a bit as I had the dreaded housework to do on Saturday, expecting husbands children for Father's Day on Sunday, but then then never showed, so I had to comfort him with pizza delivery and a few cocktails. I have been working on ordering photos for not only the pages I have done this month, but many that I have put together previously but never order the photos. I wonder if that is considered organizing? ? It sure takes a lot of time. I have a couple doll art pages in the works and they should be completed tomorrow morning. But look out - the weekend is coming and I hope to have a very productive scrafting time. Thank you for checking in on us all.

kitbop , sometimes you just have to "go with the flow" and sometimes the flow is a raging river. Don't worry about commenting on the work done this month. Take care of the things that only you can do. I feel like I'm a week behind after being in Calif, but the dust can wait while I take care of other things. I wouldn't have traded my visit with family and gramma for anything. I hope you find some down time to recharge your batteries. Hugs. It sounds like each of us has challenges this month. The weather is very dangerous all over. Those who need rain are getting sweltering heat and those who are drowning continue to get rain. I hope you each take a few minutes every day to do something satisfying, even if it isn't crafting. Have a safe trip, grammadee .

:Nice to have you all check in! grammadee - have a WONDERFUL trip. Ontario is just starting to open up - but my region is staying locked down. We are getting ornery about it too. And I'm a careful and compliant person! kellyr21 - so glad you are feeling your creative juice moving through you because that is just so satisfying - like nylene said, doing something satisfying for yourself! Plus, if you are creative you can show me pretty things MARIBETHR children! Your poor DH. joblackford, @zingermack: hang in there, your rain will return We don't have central air, and we will be hitting 102 next week. We have 2 portable AC units which can almost keep 2 of our rooms comfortable! The AC in our car also gave up 2 years ago. I still prefer it to the cold of winter! Also, @zingermack, please don't worry about points. You will all be beating me this month

This month has been busier than I had expected, work is just crazy at the moment, and I haven't had as much time or energy as I had expected this month. This last week DH and I have both been going to bed ridiculously early and I'm still struggling to wake up. I'm incredibly grateful I'm still working from home as no one knows if I roll out of bed 10 mins before my first meeting for the day I hope you have a wonderful trip grammadee! And I hope those of you with less than ideal weather conditions get some relief soon. kellyr21 super cute new avatar!

The AC in our car also gave up 2 years ago. I still prefer it to the cold of winter! Ugh, I'm sure that's as unseasonable for you as our weather is for us. Glad you have some AC relief, but not in the car?! ugh. Little known PNW fact (we like to hide it to keep the Californians from moving north) - the greater Seattle area gets almost no rain in July and August. Like, a quarter of an inch per month, maybe a half inch in "wet" summers. We have drought conditions this year, if I'm not mistaken, so wildfire season is going to be wicked. Hope people take care. I'm trying to cook all the things this morning.

We made it through the worst of the heat! The house was 94F at bedtime, but we had a little AC in the bedroom and the cooler air moved in for a little while this morning. I couldn't craft properly at my desk but I got some crochet and photo organizing done while hiding from the heat. I got kind of bored and restless stuck in my tiny bedroom. I took a lot of photos of the thermometer - 110F (43C) midafternoon yesterday.
I signed up for some Christmas in July card classes (the details are on the cardmaking board) but I didn't want to watch yet because I would get inspired and then frustrated that I couldn't stand to be in my craft space for more than 10 minutes. But I have lots of crafty inspiration to look forward to watching now. And Scrappy Christmas in July coming up.
How is it month end already? I swear I completely lost last week.

kitbop has your hot weather started? I saw BC was getting pummeled by the same weather we had, just brutal - 47C in Abbotsford?! Or something just as inconceivable. We love to watch CBC on Mondays so we caught all the BC news last night. Pavements buckling in Victoria. I think you're in the east though, aren't you?? Or am I making that up? It looked like New England was also very hot yesterday. Somehow New Mexico/Arizona was in the 60s and cloudy, like we switched weather with them. ETA: I guess it was Lytton - 47.7C / 118F insanity.

DH and I grew up in BC joblackford, and we have tons of family/friends still there...all hot to one degree or another! Over 40 degrees for all, but brief fortunately because none have AC on the coast. I'm way East and we often have the same weather as New England. We've been around 40 degrees (considering humidex) here too. Thunderstorms this afternoon really helped! The heat in N.A. has been crazy - it's only June! I'm another who cannot believe how fast June flew by. Guess I'll have to start adding up points. Although I think I only have 5 projects to add up, so

Quick check in. I was visiting my ds’s family, and came home yesterday, arriving shortly after my dd’s family arrived. They are staying in their RV on the yard here, heading to the lake tomorrow.
Hot here too. The highest was 38C, but thankfully dry. And the nights have gone down to at least 20C, so some relief then. Fortunately we have lots of fans. Not a one to be found in Alberta by yesterday. And thankfully we have a good well, so dh has been able to water the whole garden twice since Thursday. And dgs could cool off in the sprinkler today.
I came home with printed pictures, but not thinking I will do anything with them this month. I DO need to create 2 bd cards, and hope to finish them tomorrow after the kids leave.

I really feel for those of you struggling through the heat. We regularly get that hot during summer, and I've lived in rental properties with no air conditioning, so I can appreciate how horrible it feels. I remember hanging out in the laundry in one heatwave because it had no windows and tile floors which made it the coolest room in the house. When I moved into my own house I made it through one summer before I put air con in. I'm done for the month kitbop my total is 171 points.

((((Hugs)))) and prayers for those suffering with the heat wave and droughts. Wishing I could send some of our rain your way -we've had almost 12" this month and the next two weeks show daily rain as well.
I've surprisingly had some scrappy time despite DS being home on leave - he's done some outings with just DH and the kids have played some games without me (and some with me) so I've been taking advantage of those down times.
I'll get a total tonight - I'm hoping to get another page or two done today.

I can't believe June is over! Wow! I am moving out of my parents house after being here "temporarily" for 5 months. It was only supposed to b 2 months.. lol. I think my husband is happier to move out than me, I am actually a little sad about it. But onto new adventures! We purchased our first home, a 2 bedroom condo in Southern CA. Should be interesting to adjust to living in a house full of people the past 5 months, to being all alone (because husband will start going into the office again and I am still WFH).
I need to add up all my layouts but that is the part of the process I dread... I just do easy peasy but then I have to add in any other challenges along the way.
