It's all the same pepper... just at varying stages of ripeness. I like the orangey and red colored ones because they are more mature and thus sweeter.

I like them all. I buy multiple colors when making fajitas because I like the look. Otherwise I typically buy green because they are cheaper but I buy red the next most.

I can only eat fully ripe ones (red) or my stomach complains. Red and green taste very different.

Red are my favorite to eat whether raw, stuffed or grilled.
Green are used for a couple very specific things like fajitas and may be one of the secret ingredients in my BIL's famous Greek burgers.
I only have orange and yellow on hand if someone brings home the mixed peppers bag from Costco.

I have never liked peppers, but I do cook w/them for DH and yds. We grow yellow, green, red, purple and banana peppers. I use them all, because they make a dish look so pretty.

My favorite is red, but also enjoy yellow and orange. I find green to be overpowering.

Red is my favorite for eating either raw or cooked. I only really like green when part of certain dishes like Sausage & Peppers, fajitas, or sometimes when stuffed. I like yellow & orange, but only buy them if they are part of a set or on sale because they are more than the reds.

I do not care for bell peppers, and to me, green is the absolute worst. I can’t even eat a pizza if there are green bell peppers that have been picked off because of the flavor they leave behind. Even the smell physically bothers me, there is some about the dryness of the smell that sets me off.

I typically buy orange. Since that wasn't on the poll I went with my second option, yellow. I just pick those because I like the color they add to a dish.

I've only eaten peppers for about a decade or so and only green. I ate a couple pieces of red today in a stir fry I made

Last year I was being all spendy and bought Enjoya bell peppers. They were red and yellow striped. I just thought they were pretty.

I like them all, but the green ones don't like me. They give me this weird hiccough. Totally worth it though. A bit of trivia: in South Africa a traffic light is called a robot. (I have no idea why.) Shops sell 'robot peppers': a red pepper, yellow pepper and green pepper, packaged so they stay in order. Someone's blog with a pic (from a SA grocery chain, but in neighbouring Namibia) swimmingwithscorpions.wordpress.com/tag/robots/Also bell peppers are called capsicums in Australia.

I have one child that insists the green one's taste gross but the other colors are OK. I don't notice a difference...
Bell peppers are also a favorite of our guinea pigs... they prefer red or green though. The green ones have less vitamin C and the red and orange ones have more sugar.

Red is always my first choice, then orange or yellow (those two are interchangeable for me, as they taste the same to me). I try to avoid the green ones whenever possible. The only place it seems I can't avoid them is when ordering a green pepper & onion pizza, but we rarely have delivery/restaurant pizza these days anyway, so I can easily stick to red ones. Fajitas, sausage & peppers, etc. are always made with red peppers in my house.

I love them all and each has its own purpose. Green ones are an essential part of the 'holy trinity' of Cajun cooking that I do, as well as regular cooking. Red, yellow, orange are for snacking (always a container of cut up bell pepper strips in the fridge), and cooking when the color works for the dish (fajitas, stir fry) A bit of trivia: in South Africa a traffic light is called a robot. I’ll buy the roasted sliced red bell peppers in a jar, drain the water and add balsamic and garlic. Let that marinate for at least a day and they are so good. Totally changes the flavor. I serve this on charcuterie boards. Also really good on turkey burgers with feta.

I like green (what is WRONG with all the rest of you?) but I’ll eat any of them. Red are for little kids, though. (Kids in my family like them because they’re sweeter.)
