Love the outside...
While I have seen worse insides than this.. I 'could' live with this a tiny bit, but would have to be changed pretty darn quick. And it is outdated for $11 million. They do have some kind of imagination though.. yikes.

I think it would show better empty. The furniture looks like 1990 wants its prints back. other than the wallpapered bedroom and the shell sink, I don't mind the rest of the colors and with the right furniture I think they could work.
But the views are amazing and the bones of the house are great. knock $11 mill off the price and Im in!

I think its lovely. A little too dark for my taste, I hate the shell sink, and I’d definitely have to strip some wallpaper. However, this home is not a gut job. It’s decorating and paint.

As with many of the comments here, LOVE the outside, the view, the gardens. The inside looks like it has good bones, just needs a $1M+ update by a good interior designer.

I'd live there. LOL I would change the interior colors and finishes (that shell sink would be gone first), but I'd live there in a heart beat. I love that area of Ca. I wish I could afford to retire there.

And what's with the bathroom (pg 14) with what looks kitchen cupboards I couldn't get past the picture of the guy kissing his parakeet or whatever was going on in that photo.

I love it. It has a Colonial / Age of Exploration / Natural History vibe to me. The illustrators who traveled with Charles Darwin, or John James Audubon and his illustrations. Or even well traveled people like Hemingway. People who travel the world, collecting things, this is what I imagine their house would look like.

I actually don't mind it. I'd be changing the paint & getting rid of the wallpaper/matching curtains asap. The ceilings are a little weird, and the shell sink would go. It's not like they leave the furniture behind anyway so that makes no difference to me. Personally I think it looks really cluttered. The chaise in the bathroom is a bit odd. But the grounds are gorgeous!

I love it. Sure, it needs a little updating, but I could happily live there. Given the Bali vibe of the decor, I kind of even like the clam shell sink.

I don’t understand why someone would install tropical gardens in a state plagued by drought. Seems pretty irresponsible to me. I guess if you’re rich, it’s ok! to me, the whole house (with the deep, shaded patio all around) and plants, interior, etc. feel like they were going for "Hawaii" or something. I like the house and the tropical feel, IF it actually *was* in Hawaii. Otherwise, it does seem JUST a bit out of place.

I can’t understand the kitchen. There is not much counter space, not many cabinets and waaay too much clutter, baskets and stuff in there! The only room I think I could spend any time in is the first bedroom pictured with the white bedding and furniture. Less color than the the other rooms and a beautiful view.

Love the sink! And the yellow kitchen , The green trim would go tho. Personally I don’t care how a house is decorated, since the owners will take the stuff with them. I am however, concerned when there is wallpaper and carpeting, since it’s takes a lot of work to replace them.

Ok I actually love that shell sink, so keep it for me please. I am a child of the nineties and so I always like yellow as a house interior colour, but I realise it looks a bit outdated and even for me, there’s a bit too much yellow. What is with the weird planting in the garden, those rows of little round grassy things? That looks odd.
I’d take it, anyway. Even with Harry and Meghan as neighbours.

I agree that while I like the tropical feel it is totally out of place. I would prefer a native drought tolerant landscape.

This has been very well done, there are lots of blue fescues and lots of native plants, everything here is very common for the Gold Coast area, zone 23/24. I'm in love with it. I think the climbing vines are Copa De Oro, gorgeous golden blooms, that along with bouganvilla thrive in this zone as well. Oh, and someone mentioned it looks like its 'buggy'. We actually aren't a buggy area really. You can sit outside in the evenings without fear of flying things in your face.

@**GypsyGirl** the small garage was my first/only complaint. Send me the crazy shell sink. I love it all, even though I'm someone who loves white light walls. It seems personal, not decorated to please trends. If it was the location for a Meryl Streep or Diane Keaton rom-com I'm sure I'd be swooning. Thank you tc , I was happy to read someone noticed the bird!

I'm so glad it's not a white tiled kitchen with greige walls. I remember once Kristie Ally had her kitchen redone and it was the most gorgous colorful chartreuse green tile I think it was. here

That's one house that I think would have been better off shown empty. I don't like any of the furniture or the toile wallpaper. But most of the rooms are painted and repainting them would be easy. I also don't love the kitchen but it looks plenty roomy so it is likely easy to redo. The outside is very attractive.

Too many competing styles going on. When I was designing our house that we live in now, it was very important that each room flowed well into the other. Too much going on in that house. Love the bones of it and love the outside.

I like the exterior and interior layouts, especially for a California house in the hills. I’m especially drawn to all the nooks (book nooks, sitting nook off kitchen).
Wouldn’t you think that the staging advice would include “Get all those picture frames and vases off the bathroom counter”?

The views are amazing and the house looks to have been designed to take full advantage of it. A complete interior redo with softer colors and cleaner lines would let that view take the starring role. The shell sink is hideous. And why the oversized upholstered fainting couch type chair in the bathroom? That’s the LAST place I want to lie around on a chaise and relax. I was wondering that myself! do people relax THERE?

I love it. It makes me miss California like crazy. Paint and wallpaper are easy to fix... I would never let paint choices scare me away from a house. That location is gorgeous. The outside is totally dreamy.

I love it. I think it’s just gorgeous. I would prefer a bit lighter on the finishes inside but if I can afford the house I can afford the updates. It looks like such a pleasant home to live in.

There a lot of things I actually love about this house. However I am not a fan of "color". I like a more relaxing pallet so it needs a whole lot of painting and wall paper removal! I actually really like the bathroom with the chaise. I can see my hubs sitting there visiting with me while I soak.
