Telling left from right without holding up my thumbs and pointer fingers to see which one makes the letter L. I have one on par with this, I think. I don't know which one is which for greater than or less than signs....It seems like something that should be really easy to know/remember, but I have some off mental block with it

I have questions about not being able to tell your left from your right. Do you also have trouble with directions, like “turn left up here” or is it strictly related to identifying left and right on your body? It’s hard to understand because it seems like a memorization issue. But obviously, with it being so common, there has to be more to it. I used to not remember left from right up until my early 20s and I finally got tired of being embarrassed to admit it. I worked on my memorization and finally learned. After I learned I felt like an idiot for taking so long decide to try and memorize it. I'm sure others have tried to memorize and haven't been able to so no judgement. I just worked at it until I got it and man, what a great impact it made on me. The thing I struggle with is East/West type directions. I have to use landmarks to orient myself. The ocean is this way, the coastal range behind me. But please don't give me directions telling me to go "North". Thank goodness for Waze and Google maps or I'd be lost. In the area of MI where I live, we have "mile" roads - the infamous 8 mile road, 9 mile, etc. As it increases it is further north and from there I can figure out the rest. If I didn't have that, I would be in the same boat (rather, I am in the same boat when I am not in the metro Detroit area).

I can’t forget any ballet variation I was taught as a teenager. I’ll be marking out all the fairy variations from Sleeping Beauty, the pas de deux from the last act of Don Quixote, Dew Drop & Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker on my deathbed. I can’t tell you what I did 2 hours ago but if you want me to show you all the female variations from Napoli I’m your girl. I still also remember some variations from the Nutcracker and will go through them in my head. Same with cheerleading routines from high school.

And I know it conceptually, but when I am faced with it, it doesn't compute for me. I know, it isn't bright on my part. It really doesn't seem that difficult.

texting and doing anything tech related. I can't even put pictures from my camera or my phone on the computer. and no clue how to add to a hard drive. I am always worried about losing my phone because I will lose pictures. So i try to leave my phone at home so I don't lose it. Have someone help you install the Shutterfly app on your phone. You can set it to automatically upload your photos to Shutterfly, so you have backup. It's free. Thanks!

I learned them the wrong way round in class. I must have just misunderstood, or written it down incorrectly. I still have to reverse my thought process every single time I need them; I have to think "that's greater than so it must be lesser than" every time.

Also, I can no longer back up to the tailgate of a pickup and use my arms to hop /boost my ass onto it. Tried a few times in front of my boyfriend, which was quite embarrassing. I ended up having to lay my upper body across it and sort of roll my torso like a bag of taters onto the truck bed.
This just happened to me the other day! I was trying to get onto the tailgate of my dh's truck while we were talking to my son outside. I tried like 5 times to boost myself up, no go, tried to raise one butt cheek up onto to it and then boost, nope! My dh and son were looking at me like I was nuts! I COULD NOT DO IT! I had to ask my son to give me a boost. They both were like "are you serious"? It's like I've lost a couple inches or something. When I went to hop down when we were done chatting, I almost fell on my face, because I swear it was farther away than normal. The other thing I can not for the life of me do is French braid. On myself or anyone else. My poor daughter sat for hours as a child as I tried and tried. Wet hair, dry hair, dirty hair, clean hair. I can not do it. Before the internet, I had a step by step book I tried to follow. I had a friend try and teach me several times. I've watched hours worth of "how to French braid your own hair" videos on youtube, and spent hours while watching tv trying to do it on myself. It alludes me. So my hair is either down, half up-half down or in a ponytail. Messy bun? forget it. I look like a moron.

The way I learned it (and still to this day use) is that the < if turned just a smidge to the left, is an L, which stands for Less than. Thank goodness for Mr. Rosenburg my 4th grade teacher. He taught us lots of those types of things (like the left hand/right hand L with your finger/thumb) and 9's tables using your fingers. I loved his teaching skills. They were way more fun than any other teacher's in elementary school.

Cooking a pork chop so that it is moist.
I couldn’t do this either until I learned about brining pork chops for a couple of hours before cooking. It is literally a game changer.

I am wearing my new white top that arrived in the mail today - it’s been 49 minutes and I haven’t spilled a thing on it yet.
Granted, I haven’t actually had any food yet, but 49 minutes without any non food spill is making me hopeful. 😂

Get thee some OxyClean powder! I buy it at Costco ... stuff is amazing for whites! I use It (thanks to the peas) because it works, but even with a second rinse my clothing still smells like it 🤮 Why do they have to make it stink to high heaven? There is an unscented OxyClean I have purchased it on Amazon

I am incapable of raising my left eyebrow. I can raise the right one; I can raise both at once, but I simply cannot raise just my left one. Neither can I. And I can't wink with my right eye Same here.

Do you also have trouble with directions, like “turn left up here” or is it strictly related to identifying left and right on your body? It’s hard to understand because it seems like a memorization issue. But obviously, with it being so common, there has to be more to it. So I’ve been reading about this, there is actually a lot written about it and it’s quite common. It happens to more women, and there is a particular part of the brain involved. Here is one of the articles: www.today.com/health/why-some-people-have-trouble-distinguishing-left-right-woman-gets-t209748Do those of you that have right/left confusion also have spatial issues? This is so fascinating to me! They try to describe why front and back are easier to remember/quickly figure out, but that seems the same to me. And up and down, because down is where things fall. Okay, but you had to memorize that down is where things fall so I still don’t understand why that’s different. Obviously, it is, but I still can’t grasp the concept of why! Yes, all of the above. I either hold my hand up to see the which one makes the L, or if I'm trying to be discreet for some reason, I feel for or glance at my wedding rings. As far as driving, I think "right on red" being allowed at intersections, and it's a quick reminder to me which side right is. I'm lucky where I live that I can figure out NSEW directions because I can see the mountains almost all the time. As long as I can see them, I know that's west. It's helpful because when someone tells me the place I'm looking for is on the southwest corner of such & such street, I can figure it as long as I can see the mountains.

In you gal's defense, lots of trucks these days have big tires and many are 4 wheel drive, many more than in years past.

I am incapable of whistling. I’ve always wanted to do the loud ‘get your attention’ whistle. I don’t even care about whistling a tune. But in reality, all I produce is a sad little breathy wheezing sound. I can't either!!!

I laughed SO much at this! Only because I can relate! Hopefully the color matches your outfit!! I can't trim my flower beds with a weed whacker to make it look like a nice, straight edge. It looks mutilated!!! Lol I don’t even really know *how* it happened. 😂😂 I mean I know, but really how did it fall out? My husband just shook his head at me when he saw it. 😂 Now I am laughing even more because I definitely can see myself asking the same question!!! SO FUNNY!!!!!
