So I'm pretty frustrated. My friend and I started about the same place in April. She is down almost 15 lbs...I'm up and down. She is about ready to break 200 and I am hovering at 210. She is doing weight watchers and I am doing it on my own, but we do about the same amount of exercise.
I've lost inches, I know that, but damn it, I want to get to Onederland before the end of August and it just seems so damn daunting.
Back to tracking every damn thing I eat and walking almost daily.
Something has to give, right?

I'm not tracking anything currently, but when I was doing WW I always tracked at the beginning of the day. That way I had to pre-plan for the day, so there was less chance of the 'I don't know what I want to eat so I guess I'll just have X' type of thing. I would assume I had the points, but when I calculated it later, I had usually estimated wrong. Tracking at the beginning of the day meant I'd also know if I was going to be over/under for the day, so I could either have a treat or know to use some of my free points, that I needed to get in some more exercise, etc. (it did help that I usually had very similar things, or even the same thing, every day, or that I rotated thru 3-4 favorite things quite often. It was easier to remember the information for fewer things, and I felt more in control.) I started WW (green plan) on April 28th and am down 17 pounds so far. I've only got 48 more to go but since I find that number so daunting, I set 10 pound goals at a time. I too, was at my all-time heaviest back in March and finally said enough was enough. I'm good about tracking first thing in the morning so I know that I can splurge a little at the end of the day if I feel the need. It's also very satisfying to see how many fitness points I can use every week and motivates me to keep moving. This is a great thread, btw. do you find we worth the $?

Their message boards are very motivating and it's nice to know that there are days when I'm not the only one struggling.

I really liked the WW online message boards when I was doing the program, too. I used to read them even when I wasn't doing WW (before they made it member-only)... The encouragement is invaluable- there is always someone else who has the same or similar issues, and the same questions, as you do. So no question is a dumb one.
I'm not sure what's going to happen with my weight loss this week- I had been doing strictly 5 shakes/bars a day, with a couple pieces of fruit in there, for a total of 800-900 calories. (it's doctor supervised) This week I'm going to do 4 + 1 meal a few times during the week and make my meal WFPB, so I can work on easing WFPB foods into my overall diet for when I transition back to a regular 'food' diet instead of shakes/bars.
Last night I made 'Mexican spaghetti' for dinner- using ground beef + taco seasoning, sauteed onions, Rotel tomatoes, and more tomato sauce to make it a 'saucier' consistency. Serve this sauce over high-fiber spaghetti, with grated pepper jack cheese and chopped cilantro. I used ground beef for my DH's meal, and I made mine using black beans plus chopped mushrooms and onions that I sauteed in vegetable stock. Instead of cheese, I put slices of avocado on mine for creaminess. It was pretty good, although I think cheese must be a lot saltier than I think, because mine tasted a bit bland. (And I know I'm going to have to get used to differences in tastes / textures, cutting out all meat and dairy.) But otherwise, it was pretty yummy!
