Now I want Del Taco.
Mexican Chocolate Shake? I had no idea.
plus, I didn't know they make green chile bean burritos. Those are my favorites and Taco Bell stopped offering green sauce. I never go to Del Taco because its on the other side of town from me.
I'll definitely try them out next time I'm over there.
So, you just got them some business by this post! Enjoy!

With customer service, I'm sensing that companies are more and more grateful for customers who calmly relay problems and express understanding that mistakes happen, so they not only make it right, they make it right and then some.
You've done your part by telling them you were satisfied. That they chose to do more for you is their own decision. (And I'm quite sure there's a line item in the company budget for customer retention.)

You have been honest with them, but they still want to help. That's great customer service. I would eat there just because of how wonderful they are being. I think it helps their business by sharing stories of great customer service.
Now I want a chocolate milk shake and burrito!

Giving you $25 doesn't cost them $25, and in addition your response may save them $1000's in lost income from customers who won't say anything but also won't go back.

Well, I now want to try Del Taco! There are a few locations in Michigan. Unfortunately, they're all on the other side of the state.

Okay, Okay, I was overthinking this. I grew up with a dad that taught us to always be respectful to others and be aware that we were not the only inhabitants of the planet. We were taught to leave a location as we found it or cleaner (like camping outdoors), don't take anything that doesn't belong to you, and don't demand special treatment like a diva. With all the Karens I'm seeing making stupid demands just reinforces this teaching. My dad would have had a time watching all this entitled behavior so rampant right now.
I would have been totally satisfied with just a refund, but the way they handled this, I will absolutely be ordering again.
And to those of you thinking of the Mexican chocolate shake, it was delicious! It has a very vanilla/chocolate flavor, much richer than a normal chocolate shake. And Del Tao's green sauce is so addicting. I wish they sold it separately, I would absolutely buy it. I think I will make that suggestion that they offer little cups for sale. The burritos that I put in the freezer could use a little more sauce after I warm them up. I used to be able to purchase little tubs of it for .50 at an old location that has been shut down now.

It’s a small price for them if they bought back your business.
Something shifty happened with my target order pickup today, resulting in me being overcharged for expired chicken. The manager (I didn’t ask for her, they escalated it) fell all over herself, replacing my chicken times two, and refunding me. So, an $8.99 error was refunded with a $30 “fix.” Like you, I told her it wasn’t necessary to also refund me, but she insisted. They don’t get their positions for nothing. They get them because they share their corporations’ visions for how they want these things handled. Don’t give it another thought.

I know some who work in Del Taco Corporate. They genuinely care about their customers and want them to be happy. Accept it and be happy with that yummy Del Taco food.

I took a taste of the Mexican chocolate shake today. No thank you. It was too sweet and barely tasted like chocolate. Maybe it was a bad batch.
