Happy mid-week. I started the day w/an early trip to the grocery store. When the mall opens ods and I are going to one store. Then yds is coming home this afternoon. I cannot wait to see him. It's been 6 months and that's way too many months apart. Tonight I'll make his fave, chicken mozzarella pasta and a salad. Everyone will be home safe and sound. Yippee.
What's on your menu?
Wishing everyone a happy, calm, productive, relaxing and overall good day.

I have had a lovely day. I went out early to walk, while it was still cool. Then I met my friend in the city and took her 6YO DD for a few hours, while she went for her Covid shot and to let her have some child-free shopping time. S and I went to the zoo. It was really good as there were hardly any people there, being a school day. We just wandered around, looked at animals and chatted. We had cheese pizza for lunch, then an ice cream just before we left the zoo to walk back to the train. I think both of us were wiped out by the time we met back with mum. I came home, took off my shoes and socks, changed my jeans for shorts (should have thought of shorts before I headed out, to be honest) and made myself a nice, cold G&T.
Dinner tonight will be the ravioli and sauce that DH thoughtfully bought for me, thinking I would want something simple last night. I am glad I saved it for tonight.

sueg, I wish you could have been my babysitter when I was a kid. That would be impossible since we're about the same age.

Yay! I'm so glad both your boys are going to be home scrapmaven! And sueg you are a dear for spending your day with the little one so her mama could have some me time. I haven't heard from either of my kids today despite trying to reach both of them. Ha! Not a huge surprise. I'm trying to keep busy at work today because when I'm slow the days are long. Jeremy should be home in about a half hour and then I'm sure he'll be bugging me for a bit. Otherwise I'm just doing my thing. Hanging in there. Some crochet. Tonight I will be having dinner out with my MIL and SIL at a nice seafood restaurant. Jeremy passed as he doesn't eat seafood and this restaurant has a limited non-seafood menu.

Our Queen, scrapmaven, advised eating out here in downtown Baltimore and that’s what I will do! Not sure where. Likely one of dd’s suggestions. jeremysgirl is going for seafood and dd told me to go to Nick’s. It’s on the Patapsco River and has an outside space with a view. Thanks for the thread. I bow to your encouragement to get off my a** and get away from the kitties. ❤️

Happy Hump Day!! scrapmaven bet you're glad to have a full house for the summer. Enjoy the fam time. 😉 jeremysgirl I'll be hanging out with Jeremy at the non-seafood serving restaurant. 🤣 I stayed up way too late talking to my cousin in Denver. She called around 930p and sometime after midnight I finally said I HAVE GOT TO GO TO BED! A phone call from her is never less than 2 hours. So I'm doing lots of yawning today and it will feel like a looooong day. Dinner tonight is artichoke spinach stuffed chicken and roasted brussels with balsamic glaze.

last night, we went to a live concert!! (on a lawn). and just had gjetost cheese and apple, carrots and hummus for dinner. (gjetost is also known as brunhost...brown goat/milk cheese from norway that tastes like caramel.)
today, after a swim, dh and I are making a whole bunch of pizzas with the dough I bought from trader joes. we will have some tonight, and freeze a bunch for later use. using our new pizza stone and peel.

ntsf , TJ's pizza dough is really good stuff. I suggested that dh fire up the big green egg and make pizzas this weekend. desertgirl , enjoy your kitty free seafood. Wonder if it's ok to bring them some leftovers? PolarGreen12 , I'll go out to dinner w/both you and Jeremy. I don't like seafood, but I do like tuna salad. I suppose it's more like have some tuna w/your relish and mayo.
ETA: Yes, i am aware that I wrote a strange sentence. Most sea food does not contain kitty cat.

jeremysgirl - I’ll let you in on a little secret. I love going to the zoo, but my DH is rather meh about zoos, so an excuse to go, especially with a young child who is still in the discovery stage of life, is great fun. I could have done with it being 5 degrees cooler, but at least we had an excuse for ice cream.

Happy mid week everyone!
It's super hot here again today, DH fixed the water leak yesterday afternoon and I'm finishing the laundry associated with no water and a messy repair. Work is quiet... shhhh, so far. A friend just called to meet for lunch and I have an eye apt at 3. so an in and out day.
Dinner is totally undecided at this point. I'll update when I decide for sure.
Have a great day everyone! @scrapmave enjoy the full nest!

Yesterday afternoon a friend texted me to see if I could sub for bunco at her house. I jumped at the chance and was the big winner! Today my newcomer's club has our first in-person luncheon since March 2019. Unfortunately it's outside under tents (there are 100 of us) and the temps will be over 90. I think I'll take a cooling cloth to put on my neck. Dinner is going to be country pork ribs in the air fryer. I'll let you know tomorrow how they are. Enjoy your family scrapmaven! Happy hump day!

Alright dd is settled and her med is infusing.
On the topic of IgG, insurance overturned the denial and will cover her med. Just waiting on medical group to cover the pharmacy part. Since the med is covered they can't deny the pharmacy part. That is a big legal no no.
Going to be freaking hot again today. Boo!
Since it is infusion day, we will have GF waffles, eggs, and bacon. No oven needed!

Day 2 of new fence/gates project. Today they are building the new section of wood fence, as well as moving the gate opener to the new one. Tomorrow they will take down the old fence/gate and build the rest of the wood fence. After that all that will be needed is to stain the wood fence, but there's no big rush for that. Heading to HEB right after lunch. I need some allergy eye drops for me and some Zyrtec for the dog. Poor thing is just suffering and scratching himself crazy. DH took him to the groomer's today, only to get there and find out they are closed all week to replace their pipes. He had to drive him back home then go back downtown to work. Have ordered a spray with good reviews from Amazon and paid a bit extra to get delivery today. Hopefully the Zyrtec and the spray will help. Another scorcher today, so dinner will be salad and whatever cooked meats are in the fridge (chicken and tenderloin). I am trying to avoid heating up the house as much as possible since the idiots running ERCOT can't seem to get their collective shit together. cadoodlebug - shared your meme with DD. She works in Marketing & Sales in Chemicals (methanol is her area now), and she loved it!

I've been away a couple days because we suffered a very sad loss. On Monday morning we made the heartbreaking decision to put our sweet cat Gus to sleep. Although he was only 8, he suffered congestive heart failure. He had a heart murmur since he was a kitten. At the end his heart failed very quickly. Cats are so stoic; it's difficult to know how much they hurt, but I don't think he suffered until right at the end. I was able to hold him while the vet put him to sleep. We are devastated and will be for a long time, but I can tell you he was loved and spoiled each day for the past 8 years. I know there are many pet lovers here, and you know this pain.
Fortunately, I'm busy tutoring today and tomorrow and keeping my mind busy.
Dinner tonight will be spaghetti and a salad. Then we'll be cheering on our Atlanta Hawks.
Thanks to those who asked after Gus and share my sadness. I feel so supported by this little community.

tuesdaysgone, I feel so sad for you and your dh. I'm so sorry that Gus crossed the rainbow bridge. Our sweet kitties are our furry little family members. We love them and we grieve hard when they leave us. (((((HUGS)))). I'm so sorry, my friend.

He had to drive him back home then go back downtown to work. Have ordered a spray with good reviews from Amazon and paid a bit extra to get delivery today. Hopefully the Zyrtec and the spray will help. We have a very allergic dog and have tried many things to help. I have been using these for the past 3 months and it has helped A LOT! Allergy TabletsWe also have a shampoo that I use too: Shampoo
The shampoo is one where you leave it on them for 4 minutes and bathe them every other day. We did that for the first 2 weeks and now we do a bath once or twice a week. He would lick his paws like crazy and scratch. I vouch for both of these. I do see they make chews too, I may try those instead of the tablets when I re-order. tuesdaysgone - I am so sorry about your fur baby Gus. My heart goes out to you. Dinner tonight will be homemade pizza.

**GypsyGirl** for both shih tzus we had to change their food and both are on Cytopoint allergy shots every 4-6 weeks. On Sadie, after any time outside, I have to use sensitive baby wipes and clean her paws and belly. Crazy!

tuesdaysgone - I am so sorry about Gus. Pets leave such a hole in our hearts when they leave us - and it's always too soon. Hugs to you. scrappert - Thank you for your suggestions. Bathing this crazy dog myself really isn't an option (and the groomer swears he's no problem! ) but will definitely ask the groomer about it. Need to order some of the supplements and try them out.
