One of my all time favorite tv shows was WKRP in Cincinnati. Frank Bonner, who played Herb Tarlek (our favorite crazy salesman), passed away yesterday at age 79. I just read a post by his daughter on the WKRP FB page and Gary Sandy (who played Andy Travis) confirmed it on his FB page. Such a great tv show and he was so underrated as an actor. Frank, you made Herb memorable and you will be missed.

All of those characters were hysterical. It was kind of like the Office for the 70's.

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"
Loved that show!
Loved Herb's character too. He did leisure suits well!

This makes me so sad. It is my all time favorite TV show - hands down. I have all the episodes on vhs tapes with the original soundtracks…and still watch them. It is one of the only shows I consider myself an expert in, can quote, and love to take the various trivia test out there. I love absolutely every character and all are needed…but Johnny is my favorite.

I am so surprise that most of the cast is still alive. My favorite is Tim Reid.

Aww, RIP Herb! Did anyone else sing "WKRP in Cincinnati?" instead of reading it?

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" That may very well be the best line ever written for television. 😂🤣

Aww, RIP Herb! Did anyone else sing "WKRP in Cincinnati?" instead of reading it? Of course! I loved that show, but haven’t seen it in so long. RIP Frank.

I loved that show when I was a kid. Loved the theme song, Johnny, Venue, Les, and Herb.

The thanksgiving bit is the most brilliant piece of comedic writing in the history of tv.

I loved it in the day and never thought it was under rated. It was competing with some really strong shows for awards, but definitely had a solid fan base.
Such a solid ensemble that played off each other perfectly. Johnny Fever was my favorite.

awwww that's sad! I loved that show. I wish it was on in reruns (maybe it is but i've never seen it) They have shown it some and there is a dvd set of all the seasons/episodes. But they have modified most episodes because of music licensing issues/cost, including cutting and changing some scenes and dialogue. It has/had the best humor and music. Every episode has something that just cracks me up. Mr Carlson thinking cocaine was foot powder, Johnny’s reflexes getting better the more he drank doing the reflex test, Hoyt Axton singing jealous man (and Della and the dealer). And the list goes on and on. They were also very good about including current events/issues in their writing. While the Thanksgiving episode is one of the best, I truly say that about all of them. 🥰😀

Search WKRP on YouTube and the Thanksgiving turkey clip is there. Too funny!
