Happy Friday. Thank you for your encouragement and support yesterday. One thing I love about this tribe is that we always have eachother's backs. Thank you. It was a gut punch, but it wasn't the first and it won't be the last. I'm going to choose to focus on other stuff this weekend. I am not going to engage in a fight w/my anxiety. Today I have my long infusion. Dinner is takout.
What's for dinner?
teddyw, I hope that your brother's path reports come back all clean and clear. Thank goodness that he has you. He's in my thoughts, as are you.
jeremysgirl, that was a sweet photo of Chloe and Finn. What a sweet couple.
What's on your plan for the weekend? Make the most of it, my lovely tribe.

Dinner is a sheet pan dinner--beef tips and veggies.
This weekend I have a bridal shower tomorrow and then Sunday my two brothers and I are going to help get my mom's deck furniture etc out. Pool needs cleaning. It will be a good distraction on Father's Day

Good morning scrapmaven. It is nice to see you here this morning. I'm glad you aren't going to engage in a fight with your anxiety but it's totally understandable that you have it over this. I just hope you can find some things today that bring you peace and comfort this weekend. If all else fails make Mr. Scrapmaven cuddle you a lot. I'm having a slow day at work again. So I'm doing just fine today. I plan to clean my house tonight because I am having company tomorrow. My one lone scrapbooking friend is coming over to crop with me tomorrow while our misters go golfing. I don't know what tonight's dinner is but do I get credit for knowing what tomorrow night I'm serving to my guests? I won't reveal until tomorrow's thread. You all will be interested to know that my sister who can be just a bit difficult confused in me that she's going through some kind of mid-life crisis. I recommended a book to her and I did actually tell her that I think she allows small things to work her up and that I think she needs to step back from some things that are stressing her out. She took that in stride too. And I expected some pushback. She said she wants to get together soon for some dinner and drinks so she can pick my brain a bit more. So we will see how that goes. It's moments like that when I really love my sister. So I'll update later what we end up having for dinner. Here's a dinnertime funny for you all.

christine58 , I won't lie. Sunday will be hard, but it gets much easier over time. For now, my suggestion is to do something that your dad would love to see you do. What made him happy? Was it a particular food item or drink? Was it a walk somewhere special? Knowing that you are doing something that he would love, honors his memory and I think he would be very happy knowing that. ((((HUGS)))). It does get easier, but we always miss our loved ones. jeremysgirl, perhaps situations like this can help mend the relationship. Rather than judging you, your sister needs you. That makes a huge difference. This can be quite a bonding experience for the two of you. I really hope it helps. I had a very strained relationship w/my sister for many years. I never say never, because we had basically cut off the relationship and were both quite content w/o eachother. Now she's my best friend and has been for years. You never know where life may take you. The spinach meme also applies to kale.

scrapmaven I'm so sorry, I just read yesterdays post. Every right to mope and be pissed. But just sayin me and Bulgie are going to have some "words". jeremysgirl I'm glad your sister reached out to you. I hope she finds a way to work through it. I left work around 11am yesterday because I could feel that I was getting a migraine. Went home, put on my PJS, took a Zomig and was assed out asleep till after 5pm. I haven't had one in a few months, so guess I was due. Much better today but a little groggy. Tonight meeting my friend Tiff for dinner and girl chat at Arizona's.

Good morning everyone. We had a nice hail, rain, and thunder/lightning storm last night! It is cooler today but muggy AF. Ugh and ew!
Today we will be staying in. Might do a curbside craft pickup at Michaels for ds.
It is Friday so that means you fix what you want. I will be doing a Buddha bowl for myself. Need to stop and get some yellow summer squash. Oh and chickpeas.
Has anyone done chickpeas in their air fryer? I found a few recipes and they all use different times and Temps LOL. Not exactly helpful for a newbie. Dd loves to snack on them and we can no longer find the packaged ones we got that were coconut oil free and processed in a nut free facility.
Have a happy Friday everyone.

scrapmaven - I've just caught up with yesterday's thread and I am so sorry you are facing more surgery than expected. I am not surprised you are anxious and upset. Another lovely warm day here. I got up early and went for my walk at 7:30am, as I had to go to German Convo class at 9:30. Unfortunately, my apple watch was being contrary, and my 40 minute walk only registered as 2 minutes of 'exercise'. I haven't missed a day since I got the watch, so I think I'll be out after dinner when it's a bit cooler to catch up. After German class, I walked back to the grocery store instead of catching the bus, so I did rack up a few more exercise minutes, so a 20 minute walk after dinner should do it. It was so good to catch up with people at German - we mainly talked about how we had coped during the lockdown; what were the negatives and also what positives we had found. As most of us are vaccinated, and we were sitting well spaced at a table, we even took our masks off - we decided we would have taken our masks off if we'd met in a café anyway. Dinner tonight is the leftovers of last night's Thai take out. As I predicted, I only managed to eat about half of what I bought - fish cakes for starters, then green chicken curry with rice - so there's plenty for today as well. DH will be home tomorrow sometime, so I will probably have to do the groceries instead of him. I really should message him and check when he is due in.

Hello dinner buddies! It's been a week. My uncle will be in hospital for the foreseeable future, and I do what I can. I took off yesterday afternoon for a mental health break. I watched a Heather Cox Richardson lecture and took a nap. I feel better today, and less weepy. We'll have sausage and peppers tonight. We've got grilled potato salad to finish, and a dab of coleslaw. Hugs to you scrapmaven.

This time last week our house was 64 degrees in the morning, today it was already 78. I usually don't turn on the A/C until late afternoon, today it it already on. I just bought tickets to go see A Quiet Place II at Regal this afternoon. At least it will be cool. I'm going to air fry some packaged pre-cooked ribs for dinner. A veggie and a fruit salad to go with them. I just heard that they might cut off the water to 6600 farmers in the central valley. That will be absolutely devastating.

No. I don't remember that ever happening before. Lived here all my life (40+). We've had some bad droughts and very strict water restrictions but nothing like that.

DH & I are going to a wedding this afternoon so will be eating at the reception (I'm having the fish, he's having the chicken). It was all planned before restrictions were lifted, so only 50 attending and everything will be outside. We have to be at the country club by 4 to get golf carted to the location on their property and I have my fingers crossed that it will be a shady spot.

Happy Friday fellow tribe friends! scrapmaven I'm so sorry to hear your news. You are allowed to feel the entire range of anxiety and emotions. I'm praying for better than expected results from each and every surgery that you are facing. I've been feeling restless lately, I'm not sure how to describe it. I want to go to things, but at the same time, I just want to stay home and work on projects. Today seems a little better. I guess it's a form of depression, I know this shall pass. I am driving to the ranch tomorrow for a short weekend there, I have a craft retreat scheduled for next weekend. I'm ready for a crafty weekend! I might meet my son, DIL and GS for dinner this evening. But I have a late conference call so they may have other plans with her mom and step dad. Wishing everyone a great day and weekend if I don't check in.

austnscrapaddict, I'm not the best at expressing emotions. It just wasn't something we were allowed to do growing up. I'm learning. It does sound like you are a bit depressed. During those moments sometimes you have to live as-if. Think of something you want to do and even if you don't feel like it in the moment push yourself and try to do it for 10 minutes. Then you can revisit whether or not you want to stop or continue. Sometimes in those first 10 minutes you find that you're enjoying yourself. I hope you feel better very soon. I also hope you'll be able to go out tonight. That might perk you up, as well.

Dinner is going to be pizza. I really mean it this time. It feels like weeks since I had pizza. Oh wait, it was Wednesday. Well, that doesn’t count because it was my son’s Chicago pizza and I don’t really like that kind. I need MY kind of pizza.
