I have the big one (I guess it's the middle size now). I've been thinking about trying the self healing mats in it. I almost went that way, but didn’t because it seems that shims can become part of the process, though maybe not for everyone? The last thing I want is to go back to shimming with notes in die pockets. It’s been freeing to just plop down dies from any manufacturer, no matter how intricate the die. But it seems like a good way to go for some people, for whatever reason, and for those who aren’t going to embrace the religion of turn-and-flip with every pass and positioning dies all over the plate. My top plate, which has cut hundreds of times is flat, though of course incredibly marked. And if it starts to curve I don’t flip it once, rarely twice, and it’s flat.

I have a few Elizabeth Craft dies that are 8 1/4 long...will those fit in the Junior? After owning many machines over the years, I'm actually without one, after my 20 yr old Spellbinder bit the dust. I was going to get another Spellbinder but am rethinking manual vs electric.

I also have wrist issues and bought the “senior” last year. It’s fabulous. Debated between this and the Jr and am glad I went large. I make cards for charity so the larger size means I can run more then one panel along with sentiments at the same time. Also have a number of large and intricate dies - it can do anything. Very pleased with the purchase. In the beginning I did put a note in large print that said ROTATE on the machine….

What about the Big Shot Express? It cuts different sized dies. I also have wrist issues. I do have older Sizzix and thinlit dies too. Just wondering about the advantages of the Gemini? I think I read it's better at intricate dies.

Some people wouldn’t mind that but others would, and in that case the regular size would be the way to go. I wouldn’t mind if it was very occasional but if using an extra long die a lot I’d go with the regular sized one. Just my take!
