I saw on Scrap & Tell's instagram she is doing a 'Joy In July' mini album and documenting how she finds joy in July. Anyone else doing this? I *want* to participate but I also don't want to do a huge album...maybe something small? Ugh. What to do. It will be kinda like a gratitude book, but instead of doing it in November, doing it in July. Whats your thought? Are you participating or sitting this out? I will link the Instagram post talking about it. http://instagram.com/p/CQqqfjiAWFh

Oh fun! I did the positivity passport last July and it was a great project and a great size. Just one small picture and some minimal journaling per day. I also like the summer TN Ali is doing. Thanks for sharing this because I wanted to do it again or something similar.

There is a thread on the NSBR board about a 28 day challenge to document something you want to remember. So, I have decided that I will try to document each day with a photograph that embodies what I want to remember and include that in my project life. I think that probably qualifies as far as this goes. So, I'm semi-participating.

Do you love July? or need a little boost of gratitude-noticing this month? Do you have some kind of summer bucket list that you're doing?
If you feel the love and have good supplies, do it! Small and minimal sounds like a good plan to me (always). Something that fits into your summer life.
I did an October daily album last year because it sounded like so much fun and then discovered I don't have much October-love so it was a slog. July or spring/summer would be more my thing because I take tons of photos and do lots more scenic things when the sun is out. Actually a daily gratitude project in early spring would probably be my favorite to do - noticing all the little signs of the seasons turning and the world greening.
I'm going to be quietly playing along with Scrappy Christmas in July to finish off my holiday albums and work on Christmas cards.

I'm so glad you posted this, mom. I hadn't seen this project. I like the idea of documenting something in July. Not necessarily joy, but maybe. And I wouldn't want a huge album for it either. I've been holding on to an unused 4x4 album for years now and I'm thinking that would be perfect. Maybe a photo a day or just a summer happiness theme to focus on positive things.

No, I'm good. I'm fully vaxxed for July so I'll be picking up summer activities. I want to enjoy July to the max after 16 months of pandemic confinement. I've documented a lot during these times and I'm ready to go out and make the most of actual life even if we're still living with heavy restrictions and limited to local travel. I'm not planning on having much mental space or time to be doing scrappy projects. I actually prefer documenting during months when I'm not busy and loving life to the fullest. Summer is my favourite season. We're about to leave the 2-week waiting period after the 2nd shot. Forget mini albums and bring on the museums, day trips, hikes, restaurants, pastry shops and coming home tired.

When I read the thread title, I thought this would be a Christmas in July type thing, and I was thinking, "YES!!". Then I read what it's actually about and now I'm thinking, "Nooooo.". I've learned I don't enjoy making daily documenting projects, so no gratitude mini for me. Now if anyone has info on a Christmas in July type thing, I'd be into that!

Im finding July to start with me in a slump...Im missing my kid (its been 7 months since I've seen him and our July trip to see him was canceled). So yeah, I need a little boost. I am actually thinking of maybe just doing it on instagram and calling it a day. I figure I will at least end up with some photos that I wouldn't have otherwise taken and lets be real...my photo taking has slowed down big time otherwise.

Fully vaxxed starting today but my SO still has a few days to go. The European Night of Museums is coming up this weekend and we cannot wait to go do some nocturnal museum events. We're signed up, we have our QR codes of our vaccine shots uploaded on the vaccine pass app, we are so ready to leave the apartment! I don't care one bit about wearing masks in summer weather or having to carry around a bottle of sanitiser. I just want to be part of the world again. Me, this Saturday night, in the middle of some fancy museum:

I’m good. I don’t need a million mini books clogging up my scrap room. Designating small projects for trip albums works for me.

How was I not following her?? I like the idea, but not sure about the energy to do one. I guess you could always take the photos, write notes, and do it later.

I tend to have big ideas and not enough energy to follow through. Although, I think it would be easy enough to make a two page month in review, summer in review, or summer loves layout. Same idea but less work.

Oooooh your plans sound amazing booty or maybe its the dancing bear or maybe its because you are going OUT.....I would so love to tag along esp to nocturnal trips to the museums and pastry shops......I'm working on convincing my hubs to take a trip to NYC soonnnnnnnnnnnnn
Also mom I love your idea but my 15 year old has turned all moody so there is no joy in this house. However my scrapping output has dramatically increased (3 layouts in 1 night) due to the need to get my angst out. So I guess there is a silver lining???

I am participating in this! Well, my daughter and I are both making mini albums this month with one thing per day that makes us happy. I'm using a 3.5 x 5 inch mini album in a bound book from Get to Work Book and using a variety of crafting/art techniques to document whatever my daily entry is in the book (my daughter is more into other forms of art than scrapbooking). I'm sharing them every 4 days or so on my instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ9TQe3FL9F

Is anyone in for 2022? I am! I have an incomplete album from last year. I'm going to thumb thru it, and see what days did not get entries from 2021. 2022 is going to be simple, a picture and a journal card daily.

Maybe we should do a Christmas in July sharing thread. I would start it if anyone else is interested. Something like THIS, maybe? I guess that is for unfinished Christmas projects, but I am sure planning ahead to create for the 2022 holiday season would fit in nicely.

It’s a cute idea. It’s something I just heard about yesterday on Instagram and thought this was about that but apparently it’s from last year. 😂 While I do want to do it, I have other projects waiting in line so I think I will take jeremysgirl idea (did you end up doing it last year?) and find something with joy either daily or weekly for July and include that in my project life. I’ll make a note for next year that I may want to do this as a mini book.

Apparently, I missed this from last year. I'm not sure I could start tomorrow now just thinking about it. I'm really intrigued though, especially since I will be swapping decades.. I'm really digging lasteve1's one photo a day thing. I guess we'll see how I feel tomorrow. :X

I'm so glad this got BTT. I didn't participate last year but I would like to do something this year. Maybe photo a day and then turn that into a grid layout. Or just a general 'happy things that happened in July' layout. Tomorrow is a beach day so I'd be off to a good, easy start.

I was posting on Facebook for a while and hoping others would join me but it never got traction and I fell off. I'm considering a week of FMLA time off and I'm really considering doing my Week in Life that week. I know it may sound crazy, but I'm thinking it might actually be healing to journal each day and take some pictures.
