Just T I love the yarn! The variegated yarn is very close to the yarn I got in Gulf Shores. I think it's going to be great with that pattern.

I've finished the back panel of my cardigan and started on the first front panel, I wish Aldi would do yarn a bit more often, it's really nice stuff to work with.

Oh, I do love that, jeremysgirl! It does look like the same yarn coloring. It's so pretty! I am not sure what I am going to do with the solid yarn. I am thinking of doing each of the solid stripe part in alternating colors. I also thought about doing one row with a blend of the two bluish colors (like maybe two rows of each) and then the next solid row in the yellow. I'll have to play around with it and see.

Saw this on a sign today at a fabric store:
In my sewing room Thou shalt not... Ask when it will be finished Cut anything with my fabric scissors Request that I hem your pants Speak to me when I have a seam ripper in hand Tell me I have too much fabric Push buttons on my sewing machine Bring me your clothes to iron Pull on any loose threads Wonder aloud why I'm still in my pyjamas Come looking for food - this is not the kitchen

sueg those socks are awesome! Love the color\pattern. I take no credit for the colours/pattern - that is down to the very clever design people at Opal or Regia. I just buy the ones that look pretty to me. Just T - I've been knitting socks for ages now, so it has become second nature. One thing that really helped me was learning to knit them on circular needles (magic loop method), rather than using double pointed needles. Turning them inside out happens, but can usually be fixed, by turning them back the right way! RedSquirrelUK - With the grey and pink socks, I got the patterns to line up by beginning my cast on at the same point in the repeat. I think I had to wind off about 5g of yarn to get to that point, but as I use 100g balls, and mostly only use about 70-75g for socks for me, it isn't a big problem. Sometimes - like the new socks I started last night - I don't bother with trying to get them to match up. There is lots of small stripes and patterning, and the colours aren't repeating regularly (yet), so I don't think it will matter if they are an exact match or not.

Happy birthday jeremysgirl I hope your day is filled with wonderful things
King Cole have a new sock yarn out, sueg would you make socks with a mostly acrylic yarn? I'm tempted to try it because of the colours but not sure how it would wear. This is it knitted up, I love how it looks.

lainey - personally, I wouldn’t use a mostly acrylic yarn for socks, not because of wear but because I don’t find that acrylic breathes as well as wool and I would worry about having sweaty feet as a result. I do love the colours though. What % acrylic is it?

I do love the colours though. What % acrylic is it? That would be my worry too. It's 93% acrylic and 3% other so it is a high percentage, it's such a shame because the colours are fabulous.

What a great cake jeremysgirl . Oh wow! I bet it is yummy. And you are SO cute! She is adorable, with envious skin. My skin is finally getting back to good. Now that I'm vaccinated I can go for my monthly facial again. Pure bliss! Thank you for the compliment. Having a chubby face helps too. Here is the cake I made. And I can vouch for the fact that it did taste good. I posted this recipe on my Facebook last night. Becki's banana cake: 4 mashed bananas 1 stick butter softened 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup sour cream 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups flour Bake in a Bundt pan for 55 minutes at 350 Cream cheese frosting 1 brick of cream cheese softened 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 tablespoons milk 3 cups powdered sugar Garnish with pecans! Let's hope this cake tastes good because for the life of me I could not remember how I made my last one! 🤣 Note: cake was good. Recipe is a keeper.

Overripe bananas work best. I bought mine last week and they were perfect last night for baking.
