Happy July! Planning to do an Elizabeth Crafts on line class with justjac. Received the supplies yesterday. Do you think creating a mini book with snowflakes and pine trees and penguins will help us stay cool on the tenth of July?

grammadee - that sounds fun and hopefully will keep you guys cooler! Quiet house here today with DD14 still sleeping and everyone else on a road trip to the city so I've already managed one layout. I need to order some photos that got missed in my April 2021 photo order and then back to the scrap table.

Do you think creating a mini book with snowflakes and pine trees and penguins will help us stay cool on the tenth of July? Definitely.
I just ended a temp job, so I bought a few scrappy things. My daughter and husband are going to Disney World in Florida with my husband's cousin. Quite proud of my Autistic daughter for paying for most of the trip! I got some metal dies, a stamp set, and paper. I only owned one mickey mouse hand wooden stamp that I've known and had longer than my husband.
For any of you long time scrappers, do you find it hard to make purchases? I have to LOVE LOVE LOVE new products or know I can use them multiple times. I was actually low on summer items. I was wanting something bright. Then I realized I have plenty of paper. I decided to get an ephemera pack instead. Since I mainly do pocket pages, this made more sense. My pages lately have been photo heavy, so these will go a long way.
Anyway, I feel like I'm being smarter with my purchases. I have some Coca-Cola Christmas items and how could I not purchase this paper?! It's rare I buy new releases.

For any of you long time scrappers, do you find it hard to make purchases? oh definitely - I have so much on hand already as far as paper/cardstock goes and I really need to USE my dies/embossing folders/stamps that I've bought and not used before I even think about buying more. And paying attention to my pages - I don't use a ton of product either - more cardstock and paper scraps. My last several 'purchases' were actually things DH bought FOR me (he does have good taste in paper - I'm lucky) because I really haven't done much shopping myself

I cannot imagine my husband picking out good things. He doesn't always pick out things I would choose but they almost always end up being things I can/do USE. His most recent purchase was some Graphic 45 paper at Tuesday Morning - I've never bought that brand before but I already have some photos in mind to use it with.

Happy July everyone! For any of you long time scrappers, do you find it hard to make purchases? Yes and no. When I look at the size of my stash compared to the size of the stashes discussed here/shared on fb I feel like I must do a pretty good job at keeping my purchasing under control. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with not having the stores/sales you guys have in the US, I'm fairly certain if we had TM my stash would be way larger. I also really think through my purchases, possibly overthink them. If I'm paying for shipping from the US, I want to make sure that the things I buy are things I really love and will get used. I probably only do a couple of bigger orders every year, so I have plenty of time to think over my cart. I'm also trying to buy things that are not already in my stash. And honestly, the biggest deterrent to shopping is watching Janet from RTS sort through her paper stash. That much stuff just overwhelms me and reminds me why I don't really want to bring more into my space.

refugeepea Yes, it is hard to buy sometimes! I've been scrapping for decades. I know how.long it takes to use up a whole paper stack or collection. And i have many, many tools, and know that boredom of even my favorite image is a possibility. Nowadays, I'm much more likely to pick up stickers from Dollar Tree to jazz up what I already have in my stash. They're affordable, no guilt if I don't finish a sheet, and DT has really upped their sticker game.

Heeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy Everybody!!!!
Anyone scrapping?
It's July 4th, did a quick grocery run, plus a quick walk with the kids before it gets hot today.
Sitting down, listening to tunes, scrapping? Sort of?
I'm working on a memorial layout about two cats that passed away last year, just a couple months apart. It was a real gut punch. I found pretty, textured, masculine/ neutral stickers at the Dollar Tree the other day, and I'm using chocolate brown cs, a dark blue pp, cream cs stamped journaling spots, and the stickers. Gonna place some enamel dots on it too, I think.
It feels good to do the page, but I can't do the memory of those cats justice with the page. They were the best of boys, both of them.
Gonna also see if I can work on a few more in progress layouts today.

For any of you long time scrappers, do you find it hard to make purchases? Nope. I love buying new collections. I don't even want to know how much money I've spent over 20 years but I love my stash. I'm a bit pickier than I used to be but I still look at Scrapbook.com every day to see if they have something new that appeals to me. There hasn't been anything in quite a while, though. I'm sure all of it is sitting in a cargo container somewhere. There just seems to be a lot of European style stuff lately and that isn't my jam. I feel no need to use up a collection or pad. I use as much as I want and don't worry about the rest. I'm glad I didn't use up all of my Basic Grey, because I still drag it out quite a bit. I'll be depressed when I use it all up.

I recently did one for Silver who died in April but I still need to do one for Oreo who died in January. Sounds like you've got a good plan for yours. I finished up one layout this morning - hoping to get the rest of DD's Confirmation layouts done today which'll finish up April 2021

My son was almost seizure free for a month and had one yesterday. He's still sleeping. Not how I'd prefer to get quiet time. 😞

I guess for me, I think don't I already have something like that? 😀 I'm a very slow scrapper too. I'm this way with EVERYTHING! I know, it's not a good thing. I also love my stash and only did one big purge once in 26 years thinking I could maybe make some money. It was not worth the hassle. I just try to have a space for everything in my living room. The good news is that it has vaulted ceilings. 😏

Aw, darn. I bet that was a gut punch. I hope he goes at least another month (or better yet, forever). LavenderLayoutLady I'm so sorry you lost your 2 furry friends. I didn't get to scrap yesterday, but it's going to be in the mid-90s again today, so I am planning to spend the afternoon playing with paper.

I'm stealing a little time to scrap today. Lots of family time yesterday & the day before. Errands run this morning. Laundry in the process.
And sitting, putting together layouts.
None are show stoppers. But heck, it's just for me anyway.

I bought paper today. I'd been waiting for the official summer sales period to start over here and one of the French scrapbook stores finally reduced their previous collections down to 50-60% off. I got some papers and a few select embellishments from Spoooky by Pebbles (RIP super cute Halloween collections), Magical Forest by Crate Paper, Old School by Heidi Swapp, Monaco & 5th by Pink Paislee (ugh, why did AC have to kill Pink Paislee?), Go the Scenic Route by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee, Late Afternoon by Amy Tangerine and The Avenue by Jen Hadfield for Pebbles. Feels nice to have some "new" stash coming in soon...

Late to the thread. I was on vacation and took a red eye cross country. I'm still recovering haha!
I am going to CKC the end of the month and looking forward to buying whatever I can use.
I took lots of photos on my vacation and am currently editing all of them to get them printed. It might be fun to scrap them while it is fresh in my mind.

I am gonna work on sorting through my pp and creating some kits I can share with friends and family. Maybe we will have some virtual parties and everyone can have a kit to make their project. Just an idea and hope it works out.

I had a small order for photos from Shutterfly. It was cheaper to ship than pick up at my local CVS! So weird.

I got an order from Gina Marie designs today and I love love it all. I’m particularly pleased with the tiny crystal rhinestones. A whole page (300 ) of the tiny ones that are my favorite!
New pretty things just make me smile. And after a really good day at work I have both this delivered and my farm box. ( I live getting my farm box too ) It’s like Christmas!
If the crystals sit here til I die and my children chuck them, I don’t care they were $2.25 and I’m getting that much worth of enjoyment just looking at them. I guess it’s the magpie in me.
I’m weird, I know,

We are going on our first weekend trip! I'll have lots of photos to scrap.
It feels really weird to be packing after staying home the last year plus. I'll have to do a page about that, I think.
