Yeah, I'm kind of bummed the lockdown was extended as it's our wedding anniversary this coming weekend and we were looking forward to going out to dinner since we spent last year's anniversary in lockdown. I've ordered a meal on Providoor to be delivered Saturday morning, although I'm disappointed I'll have to do my own dishes Maribeth - I hope the organising project helps get you back into the right creative headspace.

lockdown was extended as it's our wedding anniversary this coming weekend and we were looking forward to going out to dinner since we spent last year's anniversary in lockdown That is so disappointing! We spent our 25th anniversary in lockdown - we ordered food in, like you. It didn't feel particularly special! This year, I have a 12 hour work day scheduled for our anniversary. Frankly, at this point, DH and I don't care WHEN we get some time together, we just want to do something special! Linda - glad you are a Diva this month. You are so inspiring for me in continuing to capture the stories. I was planning on working on a layout tonight, but was on driving duty to pick up DD at dance. She was supposed to be done at 7:45. Texted an update that it would be 8:00 because they were re-running some numbers. I was still in the parking lot at 8:45, and she hadn't communicated with me at all, so I figured I was mad enough about the wasted time that she could walk home! It's not that far - about 3km - but that's still a punishment after 7 hours of dance. She ended up getting a ride with a fellow dancer. Apparently all the other parents had left in a huff as well...but one of the dancers had driven herself so she gave everyone a lift. My DD wasn't too apologetic either - felt stuck between making the dance teacher mad if she interupted to text us, and making us mad. So now I'm mad at the dance teacher because it really is disrespectful to parents who are waiting for their kids, right? But DD won't let me talk to the teacher because then the teacher takes it out on her... ARGH!

We found out today that our lockdown has been extended for another seven days, so Chinagirl828 and I will have lots of time to scrap this coming weekend. I am going to get my first COVID vaccination on Saturday. Debbie downer here...our lockdown started April 1st and was supposed to be 2 weeks. Turned into 3 months while we were given targets for vaccine percentages. That Delta variant started to ramp up quickly around here! Fortunately, my province is now at 80% 1 shot vaccinated and 50% double vaccinated, so fingers CROSSED we never lock down again? I'm so over this. OK - I think I'm done venting this evening

Which is why our state government is so quick to do these snap lockdowns / circuit breakers as soon as we get more than a couple of cases, so we don't have to do another extended lockdown.

kitbop - that is frustrating but I am sympathetic to your DD also - sounds like the teacher is the real issue. I'm sorry you weren't able to work on your layout - hopefully tomorrow? I appreciate your kind words - my layouts are so much simpler and less creative than the others posted here and I sometimes feel like they aren't really good enough to share.

Definitely not the case!! I love seeing so many different styles in the share threads and gallery and I always think it's much more difficult to do a clean and classic layout style well.

I appreciate your kind words - my layouts are so much simpler and less creative than the others posted here and I sometimes feel like they aren't really good enough to share. My layouts tend to be more simple too. I have a ton of embellishments and I look at embellished pages for inspiration, but I still end up with simple pages. I am another one who likes to see the variety of everyone’s styles and I bet it feels good to get all of those pictures and pages into books where people can actually look at them. My ds likes looking at the few scrapbooks I have completed which inspires me to get more done—even if they are every day pictures and not big vacations or events. I have been in a scrapping rut over the past few months, but this week, I got TWO pages done and I hope to work on more this weekend. I plan to look at some of the recent Sketchy Saturdays to get some ideas. I used a couple of my recent kits for these two layouts—Vicki Boutin’s Storyteller and Not Just for Boys Oasis July kit. I’m actually gonna earn a few points this month! Woohooooo!! ETA— kitbop I’m sure you recognize the font in the titles (Pinkfresh Lea’s Ornate upper and lower). Your recent layouts using it MADE me purchase it and I really like it! Family by DanaBrunch at Ladera by Dana

ComplicatedLady I thought that looked like the pinkfresh alpha. I'm still on my shopping freeze, and I know I'm not great at using alpha stamps or dies, but the toss-it-in-the-cart-wonder-what-I-was-thinking-when-it-gets-here part of me wants these. I love these pages, off to leave some praise in the gallery!

Linda and ComplicatedLady - years ago I did a class with Cathy Zielske that led me to create some "simple" layouts that remain some of my favourite! And they were 8.5x11 too. I don't think anyone should be comparing their styles to each other. That's what makes the gallery so much fun! Isn't that font wonderful ComplicatedLady!!! *love* what you did with the colours in "Family". We're not quite at the end of the month...a reminder - share a layout in this thread this month - it doesn't have to be a new layout!

I love these Linda, that pink in the life at home page is just gorgeous but I'm all in for a cute kitty page, especially with a black cat. I love that little meow card, so cute!

I love the title split and the use of that pp on "life at home" Linda. How many kitties are on that page? At least 4 different ones I see? I love pages that collect photos and display them together like this.

Thank you - the Meow is a wooden stamp from Hobby Lobby - I scrap so many cat photos and I've been struggling with kitty embellishments...there aren't many out there and the colours often don't work for me when I do have them.

Thank you and yes, four kitties - black is Midnight who is 16 or so (we're not entirely sure as he was a stray), black on white on the left page is Mini who is 11, the brown tabby is Tabby who is also 11 (he and Mini are littermates), and the petite black and white on the right page is Little Friend who is 11.5 and mama to Mini and Tabby.

That is a seriously cute stamp Linda! I agree about cat embellishments, I struggle to find something themed that really fits the personality of my cat and the colours of my pages but that stamp is really versatile.

That is a seriously cute stamp Linda! Heart punch or enamel piece, + pen whiskers, + lettering (stickers vs hand lettering?) = great idea for me Linda!

I don't think I'll get any more layouts completed tonight. kitbop my total for the month is 1253 points (I actually remembered to look at the challenge list this month for no shopping, and it turns out I watched a lot of scrappy videos...).

Hey Diva's quick question. What time does today end. Does it end at midnight my time or a specific time zone. I want to be sure I have my projects shared and points posted on time.
Thank you.

The month is over and I have barely stopped in on this thread. I am sorry. I forget to do that. I will try to be better next month. I have just totaled up my points from this month. The total is 1124 pts. Thanks for hosting us, kitbop . MARIBETHR, I don't know when today ends, but I would guess it's at midnight your own time zone. That would be close enough, I'm sure.

I'm seeing some pretty impressing/intimidating totals ladies! Thanks for jumping in so quickly! I completed 6 layouts this month - not very good - but not awful given the summer season and my pokey scrapometer. MARIBETHR - Oh how GORGEOUS your dog ATCs are!!! You missed out on my schnauzer, and my corgi-mutt, but I am an all round cynophilist (yup, I googled that) so they speak to me 100%. I'm a little loose about my tallying at the end of the month. The 1st is flexible: for example, if I have a layout on my desk that is 90% done and I've spend a few nights working on it, but get it finally finished on the 1st...I count it towards the previous month. I have actually taken half points for each month for a couple of big projects that bridges months. I cannot believe July is over. I think it's my favourite month of the year! Guess I'd better go start an August thread
