I looked but didn’t find a thread-I hope this isn’t a repeat.
I found a new scrappy podcast called “Paper Talk…The Paperlovers Podcast” and thought I’d share. I’m only halfway through the first episode, so I don’t have a review yet. It looks like it debuted in early May.

It’s really good! The hosts are very passionate and knowledgeable about the paper crafting industry. They aren’t industry professionals, just two friends who are actual prolific crafters and like to talk about their hobby all day. I find their show a breath of fresh air.

I listened to half of the episode recently talking to Tracey Fox about Scrappy Christmas in July. There was a little bit too much talking over each other and it seemed a bit disorganized - seemed like Tracey was running things instead of the hosts! But I’ve gotten used to professionally produced pods lately so I’m a bit less tolerant of chatty ones. I’m always happy for more people to be talking about paper and crafts though and Tracey had some good thoughts about Christmas crafting.

I've been listening to them from the beginning. I'm not much of a podcast listener, so for me it's like listening to a bunch of friends talk! I enjoy it cause the seem so personable and relatable, like real people. They are funny, I really like them! I feel like I could so scrapbook with them! And I like their guest too. They are new at it, so yes they do need to work out some stuff, but I do enjoy the topics they cover.

Normally I find this type of podcast annoying because I don't want to hear all the chit chat but for some reason this one works for me. I've been listening since the beginning as well and it's very enjoyable. I think it's because they talk just like my friends and I talk when we're all together and talk about crafty stuff. I also like how they're just fans of scrapbooking and not "industry insiders", they buy all the things and hoard their favorites and it just makes me laugh. Hopefully they won't burn out on episodes like most crafty podcasters!

Reviving this thread as I just came upon this podcast. Excited to try it out as I love a good scrappy podcast.

They just recently interviewed Ali Edwards and even though I don't use her products that much at all anymore, I really appreciate her scrapbooking style and enjoy listening to interviews with her.
Hope you enjoy the podcast!

I just listened to the first two episodes today and I loved it! One of the hosts sounds exactly like my niece (an unusual voice) and it throws me off - I literally just picture my niece now whenever the host talks lol.

They've been fun to listen to. Just sounds like two friends scrapping and enabling each other. They just had Ail on an episode recently.

Update: Listening to the first episode and trying to get past all the "like, like, like"s. They are friendly and nice to listen to, other than that. It's probably nerves, since it's their first podcast. I'll listen to the next few also and see what happens. They seem like very pleasant women, and I hope they do well.

I'm torn on this podcast. I want to really like it because there are so few out there, but I can't stand that they get off topic so much (always back to Disney or planning about future podcasts) and the sound quality is often bad. If they would let the guest speak without interrupting (can't keep straight the names of the one host that does this) it would be a plus too. I wish they would put show notes with links up to products referenced in the conversations. Sometimes they are not specific enough in their descriptions to find what they are talking about. I'm going to keep listening for awhile and see if it gets better.

I sent them a message about their intro/outro music and how it just cut off with no fade out and how it was a bit jarring they fixed that. I bet if you sent them some of your suggestions they would put them into play, especially the show notes/links. That's a huge one I bet lots of people would want. The other issues (sound quality, lots of interrupting, going off topic) are definitely part of them being new to this and learning on the fly.

I was disappointed to hear (in the first episode) that they were big Scrap Gals fans, but hey, nobody's perfect.

I am struggling with this podcast ... It just feels so all over the place, disorganized and chaotic. I wish there was a bit more structure. I've been trying to be open minded and remind myself that it's new and that will come with time. But, I've had to quit a few episodes in the middle because it was just too much. I'm not giving up yet but I hope that things get better soon.

Too many interruptions, tangents, and an inability to stay on topic. I listen to a lot of "professional" podcasts, so I may be too harsh. I'm hoping it evens out as the podcasters gain more experience.

I'm struggling with it too. I can't make it through the second episode. It seems to be all about telling each other how wonderful they are, but there's very little discussion of paper crafts. I'm going to skip to episode 3 and see how that one is.

Honestly, the last 3 episodes I've had to stop listening to because they were getting way off topic. I don't know if you all are tainting me but I'm starting to get bored and I was a fan at the beginning.

I made it all the way through the Scrappy Christmas in July episode with Tracey Fox but I couldn’t bring myself to listen to another episode. I have been spoiled by professional focused pods too. I can handle a certain amount of overtalk and tangents but this one just didn’t have enough to balance out the negatives for me.

I haven't listened yet but I wonder if they're recording without a script, an outline, or notes. I keep meaning to give it a try but it doesn't sound promising.

Oh thank goodness, I thought I was the only one who struggled with it. I actually deleted it a while ago but had to download it again after the discussion of the 5 raskog cart lady, but even then I found it tough to get through that particular episode. I want to love it, but so far I'm just not that into it.

I want to love it, but so far I'm just not that into it. I was just going to say that! I want to love it, I've listened to a bunch of episodes..but I just can't. The last episode I listened to, it was disjointed; one of the hosts just kept using the phrase "that is crazy" "crazy" and I found myself shaking my head and rolling my eyes. I'm sure I will dip back into their episodes and try again later, but right now I'm pressing pause.

I gave this podcast another try for Season 2 which just started. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten any better for me. They are so off topic and they've added Krystal Idunate and that isn't working for me either. I wish I could find a craft podcast that I liked. I'm sure there are plenty that like this, but I want to find my people.

Krystal is joining Paper Talk once a month for a series called Story Hour. The two I listened to, with Krystal, was okay. She takes charge of the episode and there is less disjointed chatting and she tries to keep it on point.
There is another new podcast out there, called A Storyteller's Podcast. It's...okay. The hostess is chatting with some of the big scrapbooking names. It seems like more of a private conversation that is recorded than me getting any scrapbooking inspiration out of it.

I struggle with Papertalk too. I think Krystal has helped a bit but I notice I have to be in the "mood" for this one or they have to have a guest I want to hear from but I do feel like it's grown on me. Maybe because there aren't very many too choose from.

I can be very critical, however, despite one of them not being too clever, I have decided to be happy about having a scrapbooking podcast. I’ll take the good with the bad.
