I'm on board for this thread! I have a question: I see some companies dies and they are all connected by a thin piece of metal yet the stamps are individual. Are you supposed to snip the dies apart or use them as one? I hope this makes sense, LOL Yes, the tool you're looking for is a wire flush cutter or something like that. My husband had one in his tool collection but it's a bit bigger than I would like. Thousands of them on amazon but I can't find the ones Jennifer McGuire recommends so I make do with the ones I have. Some dies are easy to gently bend at the joint over and over until they break apart but whichever method you use you'll end up with sharp bits sticking out that are best carefully filed down. or you can snip them closer. Two tips - hold your hand or something over the bit you're snipping and hold it over the trash can to protect from any bits flying around. They're cheaper on their own website, but I bought these snips by Your Next Stamp which are still working very well and are small enough to fit into tight spots too www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Your-Next-Die-WIRE-CUTTERS-YNSWC-YNSWC

What is everyone working on lately? I'm finally using my Lawn Fawn reveal wheel die I bought about a year ago! m I love all interactive dies! I have been taking a bunch of virtual classes which really help get my creativity going. I also end up inspired a lot by that enabler Jennifer McGuire. So I’ve taken all of jenn Shurkus’s virtual classes as I have a ton of lawn Fawn, virtual stamp joy, the Taylored expressions virtual class with one coming up this weekend, signed up for stamp joy, Brutus monroe create your own ending in august, and crop and create in the fall. I am finishing up jenn Shurkus tropical vibes class. I realized with most classes although I’m generally a speedy crafter I don’t like to do them live because if I make a mistake or miss something it’s hard to catch up live. I prefer it on replay. I just got my honeybee coneflower die which I’m anxious to use as well as the new greetery release that I’m anxious to use.

I sometimes prefer to use the “Cut first, stamp second” method, especially for stamps and matching dies that are hard to line up. Again, I will get out the removable tape to position the template on my stamp platform, since the magnets don’t always hold it perfectly. I thought I was the only one whose magnets don't really hold well. Cutting first and stamping second seems to be the easiest way to handle solid dies. It took me a while to find a good tutorial for the process but with a stamp platform it seems to work pretty well. These neodymium bar magnets are beyond strong. Just have to be careful not to let two get close to each other while holding one. Ouch. If cardstock is butted into a corner I often don’t use a magnet unless there’s warping from water, but when magnets are needed, I’ll use one bar magnet or a bar and a round one. Far apart from each other. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0181LX6JQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hope you'll report back about all the virtual classes you are taking. I missed the Brutus Monroe one and I'm very interested to see the goodie bag and the projects. Have fun!

My Hero Arts kit arrived yesterday. In fact, I received TWO boxes, each with a kit and some add-ons I had ordered. E-mailed them today about returning the doubled up order and they told me to KEEP it! My grand niece (aged 17) wants to learn how to make cards, and I was thinking of putting together a kit for her, but I think this might be a little over the top for a beginner. Thinking I will be sharing with a friend...

That sounds like a lot of fun, scrappinheather ! Where do you usually find out about the classes? That was really nice of them to let you keep the extra box, grammadee . How fun to share it with a friend. I would like that to see the different ideas a friend would come up with using the same kit.

She would need a die cutter to die cut the pieces. I think if you look it some of the Paper Pumpkins from SU, it can give you some ideas how to put together a box with easy to make cards.

I'm hoping someone might have some solutions for me. I have three of the Martha Stewart stamping blocks with foam feet (see pictures below). The foam feet have fallen out of two of them. I've tried gluing them back in with E6000 but they keep falling out. Has anyone had any success with a glue to keep them in? Also, any thoughts on how to replace a missing foot? One of them went missing and I can't find it. I might have to replace all four of them to get an even height, I just have no idea where to buy that kind of foam.

I usually find out about the virtual classes from several sources- I follow companies I like on Instagram and they announce them there, jenn Shurkus has a newsletter where she announces everything she is Patti paying in with lawn Fawn, Jennifer McGuire will often announce on Instagram or her Facebook group share handmade kindness about classes, and on facebook the stamp junkies group people post in there. Also, for Taylored expressions I usually watch her weekly lives so they announce their virtual stamp joy or classes in there. Also, once you take one (like crop and create) you get on mailing lists :-)

I don’t know if it would work, or if it is the right thickness, but JoAnn’s has some foam in their upholstery/quilting section. For glue, I recommend GOOP. It comes in a variety of types, and will glue things that nothing else will hold properly. I think you find it at Home Depot. And they might have the right foam or at least something that would work.

I would probably look at some kind of epoxy glue wendifful - that might be what GOOP is. Foam is especially tricky to glue if I remember correctly. I can't quite visualize the foam feet so I'm not sure where you could get a replacement. I don't know if you could find another one on sale super cheap somewhere and take a foot off it (like the guy who bought my old vacuum cleaner for parts).

Can anyone recommend a super fine embossing powder in white that is a nice cool/bright white?
I use neenah solar white cs and find that the white powder I have looks a bit yellowish against it. And the cs I got from Joann is even bluer so the embossing powder looks even worse with that. Can't remember which brand I have because I decanted it... doh.
Probably me being perfectionist but I have to buy some more anyway so if I can get a cooler toned one I would like to.

Does anyone have any tricks for flattening bent/warped paper? I bought a few packs of the foil paper at Michael's when they were super cheap and the factory wrapped them really tight so they were warped in the package. (They curl up at both ends of the paper.) I thought it would flatten out somewhat if I took it out of the package and put it under something really heavy for a while, but it didn't do the trick. The only other idea I can think of is to mist it lightly with water and put it under something heavy for a while, I'm just not sure I want to do that for so many sheets.

I would not mist it because it might warp even more, unless you plan to iron it right after, but I wouldn’t recommend trying that with foil paper. Plain cardstock, I’d try it, not foil.
