Apparently I missed starting this last week...sorry about that.
After gaining and losing the same 2 pounds for about a month, the scale has started to go slowly down again. I've also lost an inch or two in my waist and hips.
Both these things have given me renewed energy in my weight loss journey.
I track my weigh, waist, hips, and neck in mfp but I'd like to do my upper arms, hips, calves, and chest as well. I'm thinking maybe paper and pencil...do you guys use anything?
Hope you all are doing well.

After three static weeks, I am down 2 as well, but man, it was tough. I track the same as you, plus my arms and calves. Even when I was very slender, I had serious calves on me. I see the difference in the inches and that is helpful. My boobs have gone down one inch only. I wish they'd go down a lot.
I have 5.5 more weeks until I go to Switzerland. I'd really like to be down 7 more lbs.

Just over 6 pounds to go in 6 weeks. I'd really like to make it, but if I don't, I'll keep plugging along.
I'm not too worried about food once I go back to work, but since I have been doing daytime exercise classes, I will need to find something else.

I have had too many social gatherings the last couple of weeks. I am coasting right now. Still exercising and trying to eat more protein, but I just keep gaining and losing the same 2-3 pounds. Once school starts, I will be more disciplined.

Checking in on our weight loss peas WLPs.
I'm getting ready to go back to school and I've lost some, not a lot, but some weight. I didn't but much new last year. I keep thinking I shouldn't by new right now because I'm working on losing more, but there are some cute new styles out there. Ugh
Also went to Dr today. He told me if I lost 20lbs it would help my acid reflux. I'm sure it would, just another reason to keep working at it.

This is week 5 for me. I woke up one morning and said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! I have been intrigued with the Keto diet for ever as I think I fit that life style spot on. Crave carbs, drink sugary drinks like they are water and have way to much belly fat. I just think following the Keto rules would work for me…….Im just trying to eat better all the way around.
Long term goal( that I would walk on a cloud and buy some skin tight jeans)….lose 101 pounds Realistic Goal ( that I will reach and maintain)….lose 75 pounds Current weight loss…..18.5
I fly to Florida in 16 days…….I want to be -25 by then!
HAPPY AND HEALTHY THOUGHTS EVERYONE!!!

Hey all, just checking in. I've been exercising but not doing a good job of tracking my food, especially if I know I am going to be over on calories. I really need to get on that.
I'm starting to panic about going back to work and not being able to go to all the exercise classes. I'm worries it will set me back.
The good news is that at school, I have more of a schedule to eat and it makes tracking food easier, the bad news is if I don't get to the gym or walk.
So how are you all doing?

last week I had a 4 lb fat loss!! after eating mainly whole foods, plant based for two weeks, along with my protein shakes / bars. But then we went away for a long weekend... we went to St. Louis, and I ate toasted ravioli, fried walleye, and went back to eating 'regular' restaurant food. But after today, I'm back to it with a vengeance. I'm also 4 lbs away from Onederland, and I'm getting annoyed by not getting there, lol. freecharlie , in my opinion, getting your food and diet in order is more important than exercise. (yes, exercise is good, but you can't 'out-exercise' a bad diet... I tried to do that personally, and it did NOT work.) So if you keep the tracking and good food choices going once you get back to work, you'll eventually figure out how to fit exercise back in.

What are you doing to lose weight? I've really tried everything, but to no avail. Lately, I can't even get on the wagon. I appreciate any suggestions.

I was tracking in my fitness pal Ive started walking and going to fitness classes. That will end soon. Mainly watching my food intake. I refuse to make things off limit, so I adjust.

I guess I have missed this thread for several weeks, oops! I am here, and still in the game. We have been super busy with end of summer activities, and I got really sick (thought it was COVID-19, but, it wasn’t) and had to give up all exercise except stretching for about 3 weeks. It sucked! I am just barely easing back into walking and hiking, and, it will probably take me awhile to get back up to speed.
I weighed in this week and was up about .4 lbs. not worried about it, and am ready to get back to my IF (which I mostly maintained) and hiking.
I did have 2 more people ask me if I have lost weight, which is super interesting, because, really, I have only lost about 5lbs on the scale. :-D. But, I think IF changes your shape and body composition. I feel it in my waist/mid section, which is where I need it most these days!

What are you doing to lose weight? I've really tried everything, but to no avail. Lately, I can't even get on the wagon. I appreciate any suggestions. hi! I'm losing weight with the help of a doctor-supervised medical weight loss program... You can do the program however you want (all meals, protein shakes / bars + meals, or all meal-replacements), with Rx medications added if you and the doctor decide you want to use one. I lost over 50 lbs a few years ago with total meal replacement, but I couldn't figure out how to switch back to 'real' food and keep it going, so over the course of the last couple years I put it all back on, and more. I started again at the beginning of April 2021 (at my heaviest weight ever); so far I've lost 28 lbs and would like to lose about 50 more. I'm also taking a Rx medication that combines an appetite suppressant with a medication that controls cravings. I've recently done a lot of research into food and nutrition (YouTube videos and a lot of Google research), and this time once I lose the weight, I'm switching to a whole foods, plant based diet, to keep the weight off for good. No meat, no dairy, no processed food, little-to-no oil, sugar, and very little salt. I think this time I'll be able to keep it off.

I've been becoming exhausted by 2 and just have no motivation for hours. Not sure what that is all about, but I'm scares it is my thyroid. It is controllable with medication, but each of the other times it has gone out of whack I've gained 30 pounds in 3 months.
This time, I'm weighing daily so I should catch it earlier than I have in the past.
But I worked so hard to have this set me back.

I also have Hashimoto’s, and it is so disheartening when I have a quick jump In weight and loss of energy. I hope you can correct it quickly.

So for a month, mid June to mid July, I gained and lost the same 3 lbs. I tracked calories and worked out. Very discouraging! So I go see my friend for a long weekend, eat "okay", drink way more beer than normal, come home and the scale was down! What the heck?! I really don't understand my body. I also had last week off from work so I was able to be well rested. I ate well but did not exercise because I usually go to the gym at work so I just took the week off from that too. The scale went down every day. Again, what the heck?!?!
I have no explanation, but I'm down about 5 lbs total now. Who knows if my body will lose any more or not. I'll continue tracking calories as usual, but I'm not going to work out this week either. Kind of an experiment to see what happens, and kinda because my sister is here and my normal schedule will be way off.

Hi everyone! You all are doing so well!
I am still struggling. This summer has been so busy and stressful. I haven't been exercising or really caring much about what I eat, and have gained a few lbs. I feel gross.
Yesterday I tracked my WW points for the first time in awhile, and am starting the HCOF calendar for exercise. The room that my elliptical is in doesn't have AC, so I have been avoiding that. But I can do other workouts in the living room. This morning I woke up with a horrible headache so haven't exercised yet. I need to get ready for work now but can do it later.
Is anyone familiar with the app Simple? Yesterday DH told me that he has been using it and lost 9lbs since July 20. It sounds like he tracks water and exercise, and there is a fasting component. But he isn't tracking calories or food.

I've never heard of simple. Fasting won't work for me because I hate coffee but need caffeine in the morning. What is HCOF?

I am going to look at the app. I pay for WW but I get so sick and then mad about tracking food.

Dh and I went on vacation last week to Colorado. We basically did a pub tour, so lots of beer drinking. I ate whatever I wanted. We did get one long hike in. We got back Thursday. On Saturday, we went tubing with some friends. More drinking and snacky food. Finished the day by eating a tower ice cream cone. I can't believe I ate the whole thing.
I dared weigh in today. Not happy. +5 pounds. I am back on track today. Tracking food. Went to exercise class this morning. That sucked. I will walk later tonight.
I start back to school on Wednesday. I do better when I am on a schedule!

I start back to school on Wednesday. I do better when I am on a schedule! So do I, at least with food. Exercise may be an issue as I get back in the swing. I don't go back until the 30th.

I am too, so much that I am embarrassed to participate on these threads. struggling means you're still working on it! don't ever worry about that. I remember going back to the weight-loss clinic after a year away, at my highest weight ever... I felt so embarrassed. But that was just in my head- they didn't say anything about that at all, just 'we're glad you're back; it's good to see you.' As long as you're still trying and not giving up, you're not failing. (what's that Edison quote? I think it was Edison, anyway... 'I didn't have 99 failures, I found 99 ways that didn't work, which will help me in the future.' Something like that.) eta: huskergal, I'm betting that a good part of that +5 lbs was from water retention... restaurant food has a lot of extra salt. (5 lbs = 17,500 extra calories- I doubt you ate that many EXTRA calories to gain 5 lbs of fat in a week.)
