[/b] covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-viewOf course mine is. We have a horrible vaccination rate. I have ZERO desire to have to enforce masks on students again this year. I'll wear one if need be, but the constant "pull you masks up" was so draining. Plus the students who would move their masks to cough or sneeze...ARGH... Oh, and my county commissioners never required them because they are idiots

My county in Northern Virginia has an excellent vaccination rate, but the majority of the people who I see in the grocery store are wearing masks. So I don't think we'll have much trouble if they're mandated again.

We're moderate. Our vaccination rate is above 70%. Multnomah County is already suggesting indoor masking again but not requiring it yet.

Our governor would not let our county do that.
He insists there will be no more mask mandates, ever, period.

I live at the intersection of 3 counties, 2 are moderate and 1 is substantial,
My daughter lives in Manhattan which is substantial and just messaged āback to mandatory masks in dance class, new CDC rec.ā She has a potential TV shoot coming up and went back to full time madking a few days ago just to avoid a breakthrough case that would keep her off set.

My county already had been back to recommending them.
Schools here are likely to follow CDC guidance.

My area is moderate, although I'm traveling to a substantial/high area for work in a few weeks.
It sounds like Cuomo is going to leave it in the hands of local leaders. I don't see our local leaders making it mandatory unless something changes. I am nervous to send my 11 year old back to school after being home for an entire year in the middle of this. Both of my children are sticklers for masks (even the 16 year old vaccinated one) so I wouldn't be surprised if they both choose to wear masks in school if it's optional.

As my governor passed a law that goes into effect tomorrow outlawing mask mandates, I doubt I will see anything go on around here. I will be talking to the boss around here and asking if we will be putting the signs back up for our sanctuary worship. He has never been a leader or proponent of masks but he did "comply" with CDC guidelines. I did see a gro store that had the signs up last week requiring them again. Happy to go shop there. We are in a major hot spot here and I know 8 people who have the virus, 5 had been in the hospital, that number is down to 2 now.
I had to run to Walmart at lunch. There are a few keto things I grab there. I have a heat index of 108 at the moment. But I wore my dang mask. I was almost shocked to see more mask than usual. Still not have the shoppers and we are only 20% vaxed in my county. Me thinks there are some tellers of untruths up in the store.

Many in CA are already requiring them.
CA k-12 schools have to have masks inside, some districts/counties it is inside AND outside.
I never stopped wearing mine inside. š¤·āāļø Much of the population can't be vaccinated yet. Whatever it takes to get numbers down and keep them low.

Without looking at the link I know my county is up there. If California still had a tier system, we would be either orange or red. No word yet on what our county will do. Many places still have mask "recommended" signs up, and people are still wearing masks indoors.

What a cluster fuck. I'm in a red county and I know damn well people aren't going to go back to masking. Hell, it's rare to even see a child wearing one even with the "recommendation". The school districts here and around us have only had one state that elementary schools will REQUIRE masks, the rest are "recommended". We all know what that means, especially when the principal's first newsletter says how she can't wait to "see all your smiling faces".
So, my kids are virtual again and staying away from that petri dish. Looks to be another year of the same until people get their heads out of their asses.

I donāt think we are heading that way yet. Maybe in the fall. Weāve come to a real slowdown with people getting vaccinated, so I have no rose colored glasses about how this fall/winter will be.

Maryland is moderate, but its creeping up from the south, so I am sure we'll be back in masks. My heart is just breaking for my kids - I really wanted them to have a better year than last year!

I posted last week that St. Louis county and city were instituting a mask requirement. That started yesterday. I do not live in STL county--I live in the next county west of STL, and my county will never ever EVER issue a mask mandate. Even in spring of 2020, my county did not have one. I seriously believe that people could be dropping dead in the street from COVID and our county executive would say, "Eh, I'm just gonna leave it up to everyone to do the right thing." (Which is what he has said all along) And our governor certainly won't. I'm starting to wear a mask again.

Not yet, but I imagine given the current non existent mask rate vs the low vaxx rate we will at some point.

Here in California, the UC (University of California) and CSU (California State University) systems have announced that all students must be vaccinated to attend on-campus classes. Some community colleges are doing the same. I don't know what private colleges are doing.

Moderate.
CT is and has been a very cooperative state - if it's mandated, people will wear them. We have a few big mouths and blowhards but for the most part, everyone's been just going along with what our governor mandates.

My county just joined several others in my area recommending that everybody wear masks indoors. I havenāt seen very many people masking recently. Maybe 20% are still masking. I believe we are headed for another mandate.

My county is moderate. Man, that delta variant has just taken over! No mandates here for now. I just flew today for the first time in 16 months and ended up wearing my mask all day. It wasn't even the slightest bit of an inconvenience. I honestly don't know what the hell is wrong with people in vilifying the most basic of public health precautions. Bunch of snowflakes.
My husband's cousin is failing rapidly on a ventilator in a hospital in FL. She couldn't be vaccinated due to an allergy to one of the ingredients. And now they aren't expecting her to live.

WTF are we doing in this situation again? Just as things were opening up and there was a certain level of "normal." This makes me feel hopeless, and from what they say about transmissibility, I feel doomed to get it even though I'm vaccinated and wear a mask. Filled with rage at the ignorance and selfishness.

My son had to send a copy of his vaccination card to his college yesterday. Community college in So California.
I keep looking at our numbers and while they are going up they arenāt anything like surrounding counties. They do note that it can take up to a month to appear in the numbers but not sure if that was overall numbers or just the variant type. Ours are still mostly alpha with a few delta thrown in. Hoping against hope that our numbers donāt surge too bad again. Numbers are gojng down in the UK snd other areas snd we are usually few weeks behind. Our hospital numbers while up are still highly manageable.
HR at my husbandās work basically said no more remote work. It was company wide with 650 managers. Managers were not happy or amused and since they are considered essential they can stay open even if the state closes again - they allowed those that could to work remote last year and just got everyone back in the offices.
