Thank you for protecting yourself and others! I have severe anxiety around anything medical, and had a virtual hypnosis/NLP session before going. (Hypnosis and learning to give myself visual suggestions had worked extremely well years before for a dental issue and surgery.)
Since side effects are the immune system ramping up and doing its job, I’d decided to say, “Thank you immune system!” if I got any, even if I felt cruddy, to try to put it in perspective. (Just sore arm and a couple days after the second shot didn’t feel so good and was very tired.)

Thank you!
Honestly, I’m impressed with those who are recently choosing to get vaccinated. Whether it’s overcoming anxiety, doing their own research, talking to docs, or just putting aside their pride to get it done. It’s a hard thing to disagree with something and then admit that you have changed your mind.
Well done!

Being brave doesn't mean never being afraid. It means doing the right thing even though you're afraid.
Wishing you health & peace.

So happy you got vaccinated! I too was so worried! Our state, PA, was slow to be eligible to all, so I had time to research. I got my vaccine at the end of April and am now very happy I got it. My husband, myself, and our three daughters ages 18, 21 and 23 got it and none of us had any side effects at all!

My husband, my daughter and I have had both of our vaccines and none of us had any side affects at all. None of us even felt either of the two injections.

Thank you guys for cheering me on. Anxiety tells me the worst thing will happen and keeps me from doing a lot of things. I hate it about myself.
Anyway it’s been over 24 hours now. I feel totally fine just a slight bruised feeling in my arm when I use it a certain way. I literally barely felt the shot at all, it didn’t even feel like a pinch. I guess these chubby arms did me good. Lol Not that I was afraid of the actual shot, that wasn’t what was holding me back.

I’m in your same boat but trying to work the courage to go get it. I’m afraid of how it will affect my cornucopia of health problems and the fragile nature of my stability, but also afraid obviously of COVID. I think I’ve decided to get the vaccine, but have to work out a time when I can be knocked down. So anyway I’m rambling... good for you. I hope you have peace about it.

Being brave doesn't mean never being afraid. It means doing the right thing even though you're afraid. Wishing you health & peace. I love this. It reminds me of one of my favorite books (not the stupid movie) The Tale of Desperaux. I hated that the movie turned him brave. The entire point of the book was that he was scared to death and THEN did a brave thing. Exactly like our OP.

@missjen, If it helps your planning I think most people’s flu-like reactions happened after the 2nd shot.

And some of us, even with our wacky healthy issues, had no reaction even after the second so it’s possible you’ll feel fine!! 🤞🏼 (I was one of the lucky absolutely no reactions at all people) OP thank you so much for being scared and doing it anyway. True act of bravery and selflessness. Yes you get protected but you also help protect those that don’t have a choice and cannot get the vaccine so I sincerely thank you. 🥰😘😍

THANK YOU on behalf of all of us who value science and believe in the power of vaccines! (I know you're not anti-vax, but it was a difficult decision for you to make, so thank you!)

Hurray! Congratulations!
Now, please continue to talk about it so you can inspire others who have put it off. It is the only path to ending this pandemic.

Having working through the first wave and the second wave of this, I can tell you with great certainty that Covid would be much worse for you than anything that may happen with the vaccine. I am begging you. Please get vaccinated ASAP. You can do this. It’s going to be far easier than you think and you will be so relieved when it’s over.

Would have actually made me feel better if I had because I know my body was building antibodies. Of course, I did have weird auditory hallucinations that evening…but that probably had more to do with the fact that I accidentally doubled all of my morning medications, including large quantities of my crazy meds

Would have actually made me feel better if I had because I know my body was building antibodies. Of course, I did have weird auditory hallucinations that evening…but that probably had more to do with the fact that I accidentally doubled all of my morning medications, including large quantities of my crazy meds I hear you! Even a little reaction would have been nice (well not really I am grateful I didn’t feel unwell) only because of hearing all of the crazy reaction stories and fevers and not getting out of bed for days and here I felt nothing, not even a sore arm 🤷🏻♀️ Nurse, are you sure you didn’t miss my arm??!!😂 I watched, she didn’t miss. 😋 But yes it feels good to know I’m protected, my immune compromised former preemie son with lung issues is protected, my fear of needles husband (love him and his ability to overcome that huge fear for the last 16 years and get every jab with every vaccine necessary to protect our child) is protected and we in turn are helping us all get to herd immunity. Now if my 2 hold out coworkers would only believe the science. 😠 OP you posting is helpful in giving those that are still on the fence a little nudge. 🙏🏽
