Remote controls. My DS is always putting them in unusual locations. Often down in the cushions but also just anywhere random in the room with the TV. It is a tiny physical workout to move about the room searching. Some day he will grow up and move out and the Remote will always be just where we left it...so...for now I am enjoying the search, like a little game of hide and seek. Dang I am sentimental!

I thought of one more thing I had to go In Search Of recently, my DD’s cloth masks. She has a couple I made but they’re hard for her to tie onto her own head so I bought her at least 6-8 elastic loop kind from Target. I was down to the one that I keep in my purse for when we are out and about together and she might need one. So I methodically went through all the places where they might have landed and turned up two of them under the back seat of the car! I didn’t even know there WAS an “under” to that seat! Ironically, I also found a child sized disposable mask under there that was so small it must have been hiding under there for 3-4 years.

My glasses. I'm like a 4 year old child with them. I even have them on a lanyard but still look for them at least (usually more) once a day.
Household items - remotes, box opener (still haven't found it)

Chargers. Always chargers. I swear I should have a monthly subscription of chargers. Scissors are hard to keep track of too even though we have a ton.

Phone cords. I have three.. one in the car, one by my bed and one by my chair. If I am home alone funny thing is they are left alone. DH and DD when they are home.. they get moved/taken/whatever.. agggg and NO ONE DOES IT.. so all of a sudden I'm the crazy one.
Bobby pins. I'm the only one that wears them. I do tend to take them out and they are everywhere.. but again, when I am home alone, I collect them up and put them in a container until I take them upstairs. I recently found out that my not so DH, when he is home, finds them and throws them away. AGGGGGGG seriously?? Just put them in the little container right on the ledge.

Scissors, box cutters and nail clippers. I buy them in pink or put pink tape on them to deter the boys and dh from taking them, but that doesn’t seem to help. I have secret hiding spots, but they find those, too. Desperate, I recently hid the nail clippers in with feminine hygiene products. . They haven’t found them yet!

Not in our house, but teaspoons disappear all the time at work. The only thing I can think of is that people are unthinkingly dumping them in the bin with their yoghurt pots.

My cat's collar - he loves to take it off and usually I find it but the last time he took it off, I never found it - it has to be in the house SOMEWHERE! (he is 100% indoors). I ended up getting a new one (which he seems to not be able to take off)

I can't think of anything going missing these days-- it's just me and DH here now. When kids were here, I noticed the number of forks decreasing, and number of plates and bowls are less. A couple broke, but more are just gone. I have 5 bowls and 7 plates of the set of 12 from years ago. I debate just getting rid of these and using another set I have, but I'm having a hard time just getting rid of these.

I love everything! I am on vacation now at the beach and staying at a new place. Not a lot of dresser space and I am losing books, magazines, water bottles, keys, sungalsses, etc. I am reading a book and they are talking about aderal to focus and I told my husband I need that for vacation! I am so scatter brained all the time. I can never keep track of anything (I have always been like this, so frustrating!).

All of the missing tape is at my house! I cleaned out and reorganized my desk drawers several months ago, and I swear I found about 20 rolls of tape. Most of them were buried under other things in drawers that were too full. Obviously there were lots of times when I bought tape, thinking I needed it.
I have gotten really bad about putting things in places and then forgetting where that "special" place is. I try to keep things close to where they are needed/used, so I have scissors and nail files and chargers and other things in multiple places. But the one-off items seem to be harder for me to remember where I put them.
We got a set of flatware for our wedding in 1999, and had all of the pieces, except for one small serving piece, up until a few years ago. At some point we started losing a few spoons. Then forks went missing before and after my husband died. Most likely the pieces got accidentally thrown away along with empty applesauce cups and other things. I found out the same pattern was still available so I just bought another set, so now I have plenty of flatware.

Forks. Seriously, it's an issue that I don't get. And no one has them of course, lol. That's the biggest thing that bugs me. Everything else kind of finds it's way back without me asking.

Not in our house, but teaspoons disappear all the time at work. The only thing I can think of is that people are unthinkingly dumping them in the bin with their yoghurt pots. I think that’s very likely. A couple of years ago we suddenly had quite a lot of our silverware go missing. It took a while to figure out that our young cousins probably threw them away. We had a large group of family stay with us, mostly children, so we used paper plates instead of our heavier ceramic plates. We believe they must have sometimes thrown out their silverware when we had (read: made) them take their own plates to the trash. The set was discontinued so it would have cost several hundred dollars to replace them, so we just bought a new set and sold what we could of the old to Replacements, Ltd. At first we were bummed because we loved the old set. Streamlined, heavy, architecture-y, but after months of looking we found new ones that have the same qualities. Only bummer is they don’t have a full serving set. So no slotted spoons, butter knife, other less frequently used pieces.

How are you people losing teaspoons?? I don't recall ever losing one Your guess is as good as mine, but after the kids moved out, the mysterious disappearances ceased. 🧐😀 For a while I would just go to the thrift store and buy every Oneida spoon and fork they had. Gave up on matching sets. I actually have a set that I put aside for that day when it was just me and DH and I could have nice things again, but I still haven't gotten it out of its packaging.

My husband is like that as well; brilliant, but scatterbrained. Something we have found that works for him is little baskets to corral like items where he instinctually puts them. Doesn’t have to make sense to others. For example, my nail clippers and nail file are kept in a small drawer next to the toilet...not the small bag where I keep the rest of my nail painting supplies. TMI, but I don’t do well without something for my hands to do, so I take 30 seconds to polish up my nails. Anyway, in a small basket right where I use them. I also have my favorite nail file (Sephora glass ftw) downstairs, in my purse and in my car. Never have to go looking for them. They have some that fold flat and tie or snap together, we have several that live in our suitcases. In hotels they are used nearest the entry for our keys, wallets, sunglasses. In the bathroom for make-up and hygiene items, wherever we decide to keep our daily meds and frequently used prn meds, etc. I’ll go grab some example links for you. It helps a lot! We even have a command hook box for travel for things like his hats, coats, bags, swimsuits. Here is the trays I use most frequently for travel, they come in different sizes. They not only physically but also mentally corral things. For whatever reason this sort of anchors a place for DH in his mind to place them, even if he only sometimes put them in the same space before.. (And for me it looks better and doesn’t drive me as crazy). For those of you that lose cords/chargers, do you have them everywhere they are most often used? If they are constantly breaking, I can’t recommend the Anker brand braided cords enough, not even my DH has managed to break one. I don’t have to worry about it anymore because our phones use different cords; but back then, until I just gave up and purchased some to keep everywhere, he would use them I was constantly having to threaten his life if he took my cord again because he couldn’t find his. Now we have them by the bed, where he uses them when he works out, the kitchen, an extra downstairs jic, both cars, and packed for travel. Different lengths where needed. The only cords I haven’t purchased multiples of are for earphones, but I need a couple of extra ones.

Flashlights. We buy a couple a year around the holidays when there's good endcap deals for stocking stuffers. We should be bursting at the seams with flashlights by now. I can't find a flashlight in our house to save my life. Yeah, a couple of them have broken, but we should have a very healthy overstock. No idea where they are all hiding.

I used to hang under there to read while pretending to clean my room. Or between their beds and the wall/behind their beds. We keep a magnetic one on our fuse box at all times, and easy open bright lanterns in each bedside table. Maybe they wouldn’t go in there to look for one?

I know at least two migrated to my son's room, but they were also ones that we gave to him to keep for HIS flashlight (to keep our others from disappearing). He likes to use them to read books at night in bed and keeps one in his "adventure backpack". (He doesn't go on "adventures", but likes the idea.) But we buy enough each year to make sure there is one in my nightstand, my husband's nightstand, the kitchen junk drawer, in my craft room (internal basement room - no windows - if the power goes out it is REALLY dark in there), the garage, both cars, and the family room. All of them except for the two my son has are gone. Frustrating.

Scissors (which is why we have a million pairs), nail clippers, and the dustpan. I frequently have to replace forks. Ridiculously frequently. I have no idea where they go and just buy more but at the moment all but one butter knife is missing, since no one eats in their room with a butter knife, where are they??? The stupid tiny black Amazon Firestick remote. Why it so small, and why is it black? I told DH to zip tie it to a board but he'd rather yell at the kids for losing it on a daily basis...
I also buy a pack of pens every time I'm at Target. Can't find a pen? Open a new pack from my secret hidey spot
We solved the problem of losing Amazon Firestick remotes (four televisions, four remotes). Went to Amazon and bought brightly colored remote control covers. There are lots of brands and a variety of prices. Read the description and look at the photos to be sure you are getting the one for your Firestick. The last one we purchased was from Lambcare, very reasonably priced and lots of color choices. Go for bright colors that will stand out so remote is easier to find.

LOL on the phone charger cords. Between us, we have three iPads and two iPhones that are used daily. At home we have at least 6-7 of them permanently plugged in in various places plus one in each vehicle (and one in my purse). At the cabin we had probably four separate cords in different spots but none of them are in very convenient places. I ended up buying a desktop charging station that has six plug ins so there would be enough cords so everyone can charge at once.

I’m going to use HTV to customize them for her in some way so she will know which ones are hers if she ends up needing to switch them out for dry ones throughout the day. I bet the school’s lost and found will be full of cloth masks after the first couple weeks. It amazes me the stuff those kids misplace that ends up lost. Snow pants? Really? Or their boots? How do kids lose stuff like that?

How are you people losing teaspoons?? I don't recall ever losing one Well if I knew HOW they got lost, then I would most likely know WHO was responsible, and WHERE they all were, and they wouldn't be lost! I wouldn't be surprised to find a ton of them in my son's room, because he and his mates always eat in his room. My X-acto knives. I can't even tell you how many I've owned over the years or where they all went. Yes! That's what finally prompted me to buy the three pack of scissors...... Because all of the scissors were missing, I had been using the exacto knife to cut things open. Then that went missing as well, and I had to then use a paring knife to cut things open FFS.
