Well currently, Canada (Ontario at least) has dick squat all. Just the paper receipt that was printed out when we got our second shot. The Ontario government has been asked about passports, and the Health Minister was adamant that they will not be creating one, that it is up to the Federal government.
Frustrating - our health care is Provincial really, so why they wouldn't do something is beyond me.
I'm all for it - if I have to show it to travel? Take my card and put me on the plane. Digital would be so much better - it was so quick to get the Covid alert app, I see no reason why they can't tie in vaccinations to something similar.
They aren't asking for my entire health history, just my Covid vaccine status. But I'll carry the receipt in my wallet should the need arise.

British citizen in Japan here. We’ll be fully vaccinated on August 11th with Pfizer. We would love to visit our daughter and family back in the U.K. as we haven’t seen them for two years. Currently it seems the U.K. is only allowing British citizens who have been vaccinated by the NHS to enter the U.K. without quarantine. I’m not sure what kind of vaccination confirmation or passport we will have eventually, but I hope there’s some agreement between Japan and the U.K. soon so we can skip the 10 day quarantine on arrival.

This is a great question. I'm also in Ontario, and have the two receipts I received when I received my two shots. But they are just flimsy little paper receipts. They won't last forever. We plan to fly to another province within Canada in a couple of weeks, and need to be double vaccinated in order to do so. But I can't seem to find anywhere what proof they will require. Is it both receipts? Is it just the second dose receipt? Is it the email receipt I got after my doses, which is slightly different than the hard copies? I would also love it if there were a digital passport or even a card issued to us as proof.

In the US and I only have the little yellow card which I put in the safe after taking a pic on my phone.
That said, there’s a bar (I think near Detroit) that is going to be requiring vaccines to enter. They’ve said either a photo (on a phone) or the actual card will suffice but the name must match your ID. I follow a few carnival cruise FB pages and they’re requiring the actual card, a photo won’t do. I don’t even think a QR code would work.
I could see needing the actual card for travel but I imagine if local businesses didn’t accept something like a photo or QR code they’d risk losing a lot of money bc people simply don’t carry their cards at all times.

You just sign in with your 4 number code and it comes up. I screen shot mine but also saved the website and have my code memorized. So, do I need to figure out how to save the site that gave me the code, or is the screen shot enough? Yeah, I know I sound like a dork. I saved the site on my phone. Since I have everyone's saved, I put their initials in front of what I named the link.

Digital would be so much better - it was so quick to get the Covid alert app, I see no reason why they can't tie in vaccinations to something similar. Our vaccine codes can be loaded into our Covid alert app here in Germany, or there is a separate vax app. So simple - I had mine scanned into the app before I left the vaccination centre.

The reality is that all systems can be faked. While that's true, a piece of credit card sized paper/card is much easier than a digital QR code for most people.

I carry my card (USA) in my wallet, but also signed up on the MyIR site and got access to all my shot history. MyIRIt works for the following States: Washington, Arizona, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, N. Dakota, Tennessee, W. Virginia and Washington D.C. It took me a couple of times to authenticate because of phone number requirements, but it finally did.

For those returning to Belgium from the UK, we still have to quarantine when we get back. We had planned Scotland last September, then tentatively for this September. Now we are thinking next May. Someday it will happen!
Yeh, you're best to leave it for a while. Up until this coming Monday the rules were the same here too for Belgium as it was on the amber list so you would have to quarantine for 10 days unless you were a UK citizens that had been vaccinated under the UK vaccine programme. From Monday though for EU countries, if you are fully vaccinated. with the exception of France who still have to abide by the testing and quarantine rules. Thanks for the info! With the rules changing, we also don’t want to get stuck there. We’ve been sightseeing almost non stop all month, concerned that it’s all going to get shut down again. We thought we were safe, but now the CDC is saying that even the vaccinated are getting sick (just not sick enough to be hospitalized). We’ve been wearing masks all along, so we SHOULD be ok. DD goes back to school in 2 weeks, so we will likely take a break then.

EU citizen. I have my government's Covid-19 app with my EU QR code on my phone (it's also possible to present the QR code printed on paper). Normally, places need to check both the QR code and valid ID but it really depends on where you go to, how long the lines are and how thorough the person at the checkpoint is.

Did any So Cal Orange County Peas go through the Othena app to sign up for the vaccine? I’m wondering if it can also be used as proof as it allows you to upload your vaccination card and all your info is in there for proof of vaccination.

While that's true, a piece of credit card sized paper/card is much easier than a digital QR code for most people. what if it had a chip that you touch to the screen? Qr codes are worrisome for this who aren't tech savvy (my parents and ils) and people who can't afford the technology

what if it had a chip that you touch to the screen? Maybe, I don't know. The point has been raised by various MPs etc so I'm waiting to see if they'll tell us how they're going to do this with so many different countries having different methods of proof.

In Texas. The card we were given is too large for a normal photo pocket. I have taken photos of our cards, but wondering if the photo will be accepted by border authorities.

I don’t know what borders you’re planning to cross, but photos of US vaccine cards won’t be accepted to enter most EU countries, and probably not by businesses here that require proof of vaccination - eg: we needed proof of vaccination or recovery, or a negative test less than 48 hours old to check into our hotel in Austria this week.

I’m in BC, Canada. We have an app with what is called a health gateway. Our shots are recorded on this app. We just had to get approval to go to 3 different provinces and the app was what was needed. Our cards are not enough.
ETA - even our kids can have the app. They needed individual approval for each province

We can download our «coronapass» ( corona passport) from the website where test results and vaccinations are registered. Our national «passport» and the EU one, are currently the only ones accepted as proof (or, at least it was two weeks ago when I checked). The US documentation is currently not accepted, since it is deemed as too easy to counterfeit, so Norwegians returning from the US will have to be quarantined. Interesting, since the German system was hacked last week. They are currently not inputting any CDC vaccination verifications into the system. And you do not realise that your cards are way, way easier to forge than it is to hack a national database?

The reality is that some people are cheats and will try to game the system. And the concern is much larger than US vs EU records. There are many, many more countries besides the US which may falsify vaccination records. This is a larger issue than just the next few months.

In New Zealand we have wallet sized cards which show name, date of vaccination and vaccine type. I sure hope they're going to come up with something digital!

Here in Morocco, they are starting to require that you carry proof of your vaccination with you at all times. The card has a bar code that can be scanned. There are checkpoints going into each major city and they can and will ask to see proof of vaccination and/or authorized travel papers to go from city to city. Because the numbers are going back up, presumably from the Delta variant, they are starting to get much more strict about traveling from city to city. Masks are required EVERYWHERE. They still do temperature checks in most all of the shopping/school/medical areas.

Currently (unless something has changed from the last time I checked), we are unable to travel to Europe because they are not accepting travelers with the Sinopharm (Chinese) vaccine. We were not given a choice of which vaccine to take, so that is quite disappointing.

I think it might fit in my passport My CDC card easily fits in my passport. Because we are US citizens living in Europe, we carry our passports everywhere with us. I have them paper clipped in place because it almost blew out when we were at the Louvre the other day. It was rainy and wet and I panicked that I was going to lose my precious card!

We don't require proof of vaccination for anything yet. But if we did, vaccine records are available on our Medicare app. Starting today they can also be added to Apple Wallet and Google Pay. Apparently it has an animated Coat of Arms as a security measure, so you can't just load a doctored screenshot.
(Waiting for the inevitable federal govt fuckup to come to light. Let's just say they don't have the best record when it comes to digital systems)

Norway’s rates are good and you want to keep it that way. I’m grateful that I have the option of using both the US and the EU systems to verify my vaccination, even if it is based on my CDC card.

We uploaded a picture and entered our numbers into the db which I assume match what they had in the db for us too. We now have the paper card and a digital copy too.
