Can you believe it is August already? Where is this year going? 2020 seemed so slow. Like Groundhog Day. And I was able to get so many projects done last year. This year is moving way too fast and my mojo is all over the place. I still have a long ways to go on Whatchamacallit, the skull blanket, and I've still got a It's Shawl Good Cardigan 1/3 done and really no mojo to work on that one. I'm also involved in the scrapbook challenges this month. grammadee send the other crafts ladies over here. My biggest news is that I've hired a house cleaner. She will be over tomorrow for the first time. And while I'm not having her do anything in the craft room, I feel a bit like if my house is going to be clean that maybe I ought to organize my craft room too. So that's on my agenda for this month. There might more cleaning than crafting this month, who knows? What are your goals for this month? Do you set goals or are you more go with the flow like me and what gets done gets done? Is anyone starting anything new this month? |

My biggest news is that I've hired a house cleaner. That is so awesome! Enjoy your free time! I have started on my shawl with the yarn I bought when I was in Florida, but I haven't gotten far yet. |

As for my goals for the month--I don't have many. LOL I would like to find more time to work on my shawl.
The biggest thing I will be doing this month and in September is making small "calming jars" for kids. I need to make about 150 of them for a big work event in the middle of October.

wellway thank you for that article. I have just started following him on Instagram. I love his medal cozy. I love that he said knitting was a part of his mindfulness practice as I believe crochet is a part of mine. Just T I cannot wait to see pics of your shawl. I think it is going to be fabulous.

I've never thought I would use a crocheted blanket on the bed, but lately it's too warm for a duvet but not quite warm enough for just the duvet cover. It's rather a large undertaking for me at the moment - I feel reasonable sitting down surfing on the laptop, or watching TV, or reading, but if I stand up and try to do anything, I only last a few minutes before I get the sweats and wobbles. It's getting me down a bit. So here's a challenge for my lovely crafty friends. Our bedroom has cream walls, straw-coloured curtains and carpet, with a dark chocolate brown head-board. What colour scheme should I choose for the blanket/bed-spread? I've been drooling over Attic24 but the only ones I think would work is hydrangea or woodland. I adore the dune one too but I'm worried it might be too pink. What do you think, ladies? |

I also love the idea of woodland but that might be a bigger pop of color than you want. I personally made woodland and I loved the colors in it. I think that blanket was one of Lucy's better color arrangements. Oh and I always sleep with a granny. My current granny is nearly 14 years old and has two holes in it. I've thought over and over about replacing it but I am specifically waiting until Jeremy is cool with redecorating the bedroom to choose my colors. So far, he likes the green walls and the lavender accents I've got going on in there. But I am tired of it at this point. I just hide my blanket under the quilt when I make the bed. |

I would LOVE to have a housekeeper. We had one before I had my oldest. It was magical.
I've been working on designing and cutting vinyl for school shirts for my middle school crew. We're going to press them this week as a team building activity. I'll share a picture of my in mine when it's done.
That diver! OMG! So cute. And he's showing it off to someone asking about it. LOVE!

Yeah on the house keeper jeremysgirl. An investment you won't regret. During covid last year I was too nervous to keep my housekeeper on. When things cleared up some and my house was fully vaccinated, I called to see about her coming back, but she is fully booked and I'm sad. I know when something changes I'll be her first call. I hope it happens soon. I miss her and so does my house. Could Tom be any cuter sitting there knitting and show off his work. 😍 I like the dune colourway RedSquirrelUK could you use a different pink and make it work? I like the dune colourway RedSquirrelUK could you use a different pink and make it work? Constantly wishing you to feel better as you get thru your treatment. How much more do you have? Yes I need to think about tweaking the colour-ways. I can't decide which I prefer at the moment. All Attic24 is luscious. Thank you for your good wishes, my dear girl. Tomorrow marks my halfway point! Provided it doesn't get delayed again, that is. My liver showed a bit of damage at the last blood few tests so the first dose of drug cocktail #2, which was last Monday, was administered at 75% strength. I spiked a fever indicating another underlying infection (no idea where, because the chemo masks symptoms) on Thursday so they put me back on antibiotics again. My temperature is normal today for the first time, so that's good. The feak'n'weeble feeling will go soon. This whole thing isn't being easy! But it's a temporary inconvenience for long-term gain.  |

jeremysgirl, hiring a house cleaner was the best thing my husband and I ever did for each other. We don’t fight much, but with someone else to clean the house we REALLY don’t fight much. 😄 My crafting goal this month is to pick up crochet again. I’m a couple of weeks out from carpal tunnel surgery and feeling really good so I think I’m going to give it a try tonight. I’m feeling discouraged the last couple of weeks with pandemic fatigue and I could use the stress relief! For choosing colors for crochet projects, @redsquirreluk, and others, may I suggest checking out the Instagram account in_color_balance? They post the most gorgeous color palettes, not specifically crochet but I good inspiration.

what are calming jars? 150 of anything is quite a task. They are jars you fill with a little bit of glycerin and water, than you add glitter, sequins, etc. When you shake them gently, the glycerin causes the glitter and stuff inside to slowly settle to the bottom. Kind of like a snow globe. |
