rgibson I knew I recognized that yarn. I have crocheted with it, and I still have some left. It's great for baby blankets. Yours is beautiful! finsup , RedSquirrelUK, and JoP how fun. I am identicaltriplets over there.

OK, I've committed myself - I've just ordered the yarn. This is what I want to make, from Ravelry: Sunburst granny squares blanketI want to make a bedspread though, not just a throw, so I hope I've got enough yarn - I couldn't find anywhere how much I would need for the size. I've gone for cream as the background rather than white, and the coloured yarn is Ice Yarns, Magic Light, which is the 100% acrylic equivalent of the wool blend in the project. The colours match the sunsets we've been enjoying lately, and our bedroom faces north-west so this will be perfect. I can't wait for it to arrive...  |

I was stuck in the house the other day so I played more with star barn quilts that I had already cut the pieces for. I made a mounted one for my peaked living room then I turned to the rainbow 🌈 ones. Now I'm was just playing as I was stuck inside for a day. Played with lace and stencils. Basically killing time. Lol    |

Rustic, old and used look The blue one is made of not old wood (scraps) so it's more smooth and has less of that rustic look that I enjoy. Most are made from old, reclaimed pallet board and such. Used and old equals more character, in my book. |

So, at school, we paint our classroom doors. Mine was painted several years ago. I stenciled a bunch of growth mindset words on mine. Anyway, one of my friends was in Room 1 (this is actually important) for a few year and did a really cute Harry Potter theme on it. She moved grades and rooms last year to room 7. Repainted the door to that room. The person who moved into her room repainted the door to room 1. That teacher left after a year and my friend moved back to the grade (and back to my team. ) and is repainting the door AGAIN. So... yesterday she was working on it and had trouble getting the stencil to stick, sent up the bat signal and I went to the rescue. We got the vinyl transferred (she paid WAY too much on Amazon for it) and she got it painted. When she went to pull the stencil it pulled off ALL the layers of paint because the paint was too dry. So... she spent most of the rest of the day pulling paint off the door. Stencils ruined, disheartened. The paint peeled all the way back to the bare door- 5 layers of paint! So... last night I came home and recreated the image. I'm so dang proud of myself. I learned a new skill too. I had to break the image into parts so I could cut it in multiple pieces since my cutter won't cut 22x36. I added the words in white over the black. School ordered her a new door today- no idea when it will be here. I told her to glue caution tape across it randomly for the start of school. She laughed. Anyway- this is for her door when it comes. I've got a quote I'm remaking for the top of the door for her too. She was so sad and disheartened yesterday when I left her as she was pulling paint layers off. Anyway- this will go down as one continuous piece (the little oval-ish piece is the bottom) and we'll put a clear coat over it to keep the kids from messing it up.  |

This isn't fancy like the wool works everyone else posts but I thought I'd share my little baby blanket anyway. I like to have something to do while I watch tv with dh in the evening and more often than not, I would be binding a quilt, but I have lost my quilting mojo so I decided to pull out a crochet hook and some yarn. It's been quite a few years since I did anything with wool and I am quite happy I started again. I am just making pretty basic things for now - makes it easy to keep up with Barnaby on Midsomer Murders, lol. Your blanket looks a lot like the one I'm making. I decided to make one out of fingering weight yarn, want it to be about 60x60. I normally do one project at a time, and use mostly fingering weight yarn, but this is proving very slow going, so it's my in-between projects project-- I expect it to not be finished until year end. |

Your blanket looks a lot like the one I'm making. I decided to make one out of fingering weight yarn, want it to be about 60x60. I look forward to seeing your blanket - I have only been using chunky yarn so far and it goes together quickly. I think I am going to branch out to a smaller yarn next and see if I have the patience for that kind of project. |

However, I do enjoy the sentiment of the rainbow ones best. I would proudly display that either on my front porch or my deck. I have no bones about letting everyone and their brother know I'm an ally. seaexplore it's amazing you did that. You really are a good friend. I'm sorry the original painting didn't work out the way it should have. But I can't wait to see a finished pic of the door. So please think of taking pics for us.

They're so intricate and big - how do you have the patience? lol I'll be honest, that side does worry me somewhat. If the yarn came in Aran weight then I would have chosen that, but it doesn't. It's actually only 2 colours per square, because the Magic Light is a striped yarn. I'll definitely be weaving in as I go. I enjoy the joining because that pulls the whole project together. Ah well, we'll see won't we? I don't think I'll get tired of the colours though. |

I have several projects going at once so when I get bored of one, I pick up another. Some weeks I don't crochet at all. I think last year I was pandemic bored so I crocheted a whole lot more. I also didn't scrapbook much either. There just weren't so many pictures last year. But this year I've switched over to project life and I'm trying to scrap by the month. So I'm keeping up with that too. But my crochet is moving slow. I was hoping to get the skull blanket done by Halloween but that is looking less and less likely. We'll see. |
