Just finished a mini puff quilt (17"x18") for when I get a new cat companion. Sewed the puffs by hand then dragged out my sewing machine that hasn`t seen the light of day for years. I really prefer hand sewing but it was a bit much sewing the crossover seams. My late Asha had one of these quilts and loved it so hoping next fur face will as well. Love it!

I spent the afternoon teaching myself how to do the shadow wrap short row sock heel, I've always been a bit scared of short rows but I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. I know I was meant to be having a yarn break but seriously how hard is it not to be doing something with your hands? I did not like it at all

I did not like it at all I have no idea what the sock heel stuff means but I can completely relate to not being able to just sit without my hands moving. I'm usually a quilter but I've lost my mojo so I don't have any quilts to bind right now, which is my usual hand work activity. I pulled out some yarn and crochet hooks and have made five baby blankets so far in the past six weeks or so and am working on my first shawl. I will never acheive your skill level with wool but I am really enjoying what I am doing right now and my hands are happy.

I did not like it at all I'm glad you found a diversion from your disappointing sock. I have to be in the right headspace to be able to learn something new too. This is why I often have a boring project going for days when my head is not in the mood for a challenge and then a challenging project for when I need a bit more to keep my brain satisfied.

I've made crafting on Sundays such a habit. Doing absolutely nothing but just enjoying my crochet time. Yesterday I went to a farewell BBQ and preparing food for it took up my morning and then I spent my entire afternoon and evening there. I had a good time, but now it is Monday morning and back to the grind and I'm feeling like I didn't get enough craft time this weekend because I was simply too busy. I'm ready for more time to myself. And work has been incredibly busy so I'm totally missing down time lately.

Love it lainey ! And here is my latest journal. The pages are completely out of recycled envelopes. I have SO many that this was the perfect solution.

I love the look of the loose threads and the embroidered top stitching. And the old Underwood hiding underneath is charming, too!

kellyr21, I went over to your site and I am just blown away with your talent. I was especially taken with your tribute to Mental Health Month. Your painting is just spectacular. Love your wedding ring too! You are very (multi) talented. Thanks for sharing.

My Mister and I collaborated for this mini project. He did the woodwork I did the finishing of the wood and the accessories. The hutches are 5" long by 4"tall and 2"wide. Pencil shavings and dried cress make the bedding and I also made a basket of fruit and vegetables, bag of bunny food, dishes and water bottles. The bunnies were commissioned copies of past pets. I also have a model of my cat Asha who died last month.

phoenixcov wow, just wow!!!! Your work is amazing. And such a special bit to have your kitty there as a rememberance. Here is a quick journal spread I did yesterday. I am enjoying this smaller size (5x5 1/4).

My Calico Cat yarn has arrived and will be 3rd on the current to do list. There was a sweet kittie marker in with the parcel and, even better, I didn’t get stung for customs charges! @patter I LOVE junk journals and you certainly shouldn’t be hesitant about posting your pages. They are lovely!
