FWIW, DD & I didn't notice any large number of obvious MAGA patriots driving to DC today (we definitely saw them around our area prior to 1/6) and we've been in the city since noon, in 2 different neighborhoods and haven't seen anyone who looks like they would go to this protest. Our hotel is in the heart of the city and it's a very normal looking crowd. I think this one may fizzle out.

So a second insurrection to say that there wasn’t an insurrection?

Rough numbers Arrested -- jailed Random sampling 61A--4 jailed Plus Proud Boys 27A--8 jailed Oath Keepers 22A -- 3 jailed Cal 3%.. 6A -- 0 jailed Out of 600+/- people arrested there are approximately 37 still being held in jail, pre-trial. They committed violent acts and are a possible threat to commit more violent acts. As I said rough numbers only gathered from this article.. and I may well be wrong, but hundreds are NOT being held anywhere!! The Jan. 6 defendants in jail awaiting trial are not non-violent offenders whose only crime is trespassing in the CapitolJordan Green September 17, 2021 Matt Braynard, the organizer of tomorrow's "Justice for J6" rally at the US Capitol, has said the event will highlight the supposedly unfair treatment "nonviolent offenders" and "political prisoners" facing charges related to the Jan. 6 assault on the US Capitol "who've been held in solitary confinement" and denied bail. In a video promoting the event, he has described the prosecution of the Capitol rioters as a "grave violation of the civil rights of hundreds of fellow Americans." The facts are not on Braynard's side. The conflation of the total number of people charged with federal offenses at the Capitol on Jan. 6 with the miniscule share who are being held in pre-trial detention obscures an important fact: The vast majority of the defendants are out on pre-trial release, on high-intensity supervision or in home confinement. They are not prisoners, much less being held in solitary confinement or denied medical treatment. www.rawstory.com/violent-rioters/

Well they will say former told them not to go. (And he did) He really has a strong hold on them, which becomes more concerning every day.
CNN showed the video of MPD Officer Hodge being slammed against the door jam to a 'protester' and he said that all the officer had to do was back up... I will say the video was not wide angle so the whole scene was not visible.

It really was a dud!! Capitol Police estimated turnout was only 400 to 450 people. Some were upset at the former president because they felt that he, by coming out and saying people shouldn't come or they felt he wasn't strong enough in support," he reported. "I did hear from some of those folks who took issue with it, but I didn't hear them changing their opinions or their support of the former president." www.rawstory.com/september-18-rally-2655059929/

Former's supporters .. They just do not believe the truth. Not even when seeing videos.. CNN's Shimon Prokupecz interviewed a Trump supporter wearing an animal hat who was clearly misinformed about the events on January 6th. *** It's a public building. I mean people have been held all this time, I think the most severe charge that any of them have is trespassing," the man falsely claimed."But there are some who were charged with assaulting officers," Prokupecz noted. Those are lies," the fur-clad Trump supporter argued. "So you don't believe the video?" Prokupecz asked. The man claimed he had seen no such video. So CNN showed him video — and he still didn't believe it. *** Prokupecz offered his analysis to CNN anchor Jim Acosta. "It just seems, Jim, that it would take almost a miracle to convince some of the people who were here that this was a very serious situation. They all have downplayed it. In this instance, this video blaming the police for what happened and they should have gotten out of the way," he said. "They're in a state of denial, is what it is," Acosta replied. "I mean, that's just extraordinary to meet somebody who says show me the video and then you show them the video — and they're still not convinced. It just shows you how sinister this world of disinformation is that we're all living in right now. www.rawstory.com/justice-for-j6-2655059977/But he did more than talk and call the video lies!!

Protesters not happy with the GOP no shows, calling them cowards!! Republican elected officials absence at a Washington, DC rally for those arrested after the January 6th rallies was noticed by those who did attend, the Washington Times reported Saturday. ""Where's McCarthy? Where's McConnell? They're all useless," one demonstrator yelled, referring to the GOP leaders in the House and Senate. "They're cowards because they're not standing up for those constitutional rights," Steve Merkel of Baltimore said. "They're supposed to be protected. I call them political animals who are afraid of bad media coverage."The newspaper noted several Republicans who have defended those arrested for January 6th but did not attend. GOP Reps. Matt Gaetz of Florida, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Louie Gohmert of Texas, and Bob Good of Virginia are a handful of members who have raised concerns about the conditions of the District jail, which houses dozens of rioters," the newspaper reported. www.rawstory.com/justice-for-j6-republicans/

Um, ok? Federal officer arrested at Capitol rally won't be charged A federal law enforcement officer was arrested carrying a gun at Saturday’s rally at the U.S. Capitol billed to support the suspects charged in January’s insurrection, but he will not be prosecutedBy MICHAEL BALSAMO, ERIC TUCKER and COLLEEN LONG Associated Press September 20, 2021, 2:33 PM WASHINGTON -- A federal law enforcement officer was arrested carrying a gun at Saturday’s rally at the U.S. Capitol billed to support the suspects charged in January’s insurrection but will not be prosecuted. The 27-year-old New Jersey man is an officer with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He was arrested by Capitol Police for illegally possessing a gun on the grounds of the Capitol after people in the crowd reported seeing him with a handgun and notified nearby officers. *** Generally, under federal law, law enforcement officers are given reciprocity to legally carry their weapons in other states, even those with restrictive gun laws. But the law has an exemption for government property or military bases where it is illegal to carry a gun, like the U.S. Capitol. **Two law enforcement officials said the officer was not at the rally in any official capacity. The officials could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity. The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general was also notified of his arrest. *** U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it was aware of the arrest and was “fully cooperating with the investigation." “CBP stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission and expects officers to adhere to the oath they take to uphold the laws of this country,” the agency said in a statement. abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/federal-officer-arrested-capitol-rally-charged-80130357

If you want to peacefully protest, that's one thing. But breaking laws and bringing a gun, not OK.
