My former rep (he’s still in office I moved), a Dr, is touting ivermectin on his Facebook today. It’s not FDA approved for use in humans for Covid, but somehow that’s less scary to some then the emergency approved use vaccine I guess?

I can’t even imagine why somebody would want to take that, unless they like rolling in cow shit and eating chicken crap. That medicine is formulated for large animals , like over over 300 pound animals. There are formulas for sheep and goats but that is made for them. I know people who try to avoid it, because it is so strong.

Ugh, I have an aunt and uncle (in their 70's), staunch Trumpsters, who are on Facebook bragging about taking horse de-wormer pills.... I'm assuming they have Invermectin in them?
And they wondered why no one wanted to come to their home for a family reunion this summer.....

But you ladies must admit that it’s cheaper and easier to drive to the vet’s or the local tractor store, where you can breeze in and emerge minutes later with horse paste, no prescription necessary.
Plus, it will de-worm you in the process. Now that’s a bonus!
ETA: I am not mocking rural people. I grew up in a rural area. I AM mocking people who take horse paste.

My local Republican State Rep, a neighbor with a Doctorate in Economics, shared a FB post on her official page this week touting the benefits of Ivormectin as a “therapeutic” medicine for COVID. I know someone who is dosing his family with the IV form of this animal deworming medicine, mixing it with water and drinking it. And yes, it does work - to deworm cattle! We use a pour-on solution on our herd every year.
You don’t want to be vaccinated, but you are drinking cow wormer? You can’t fix stupid.

I have read that there is a “human” version of this drug used for treatment of parasites, but the stuff that the looney tunes bunch are buying is from feed/tractor supply type stores and meant strictly for use on animals. |

Better messaging isn't going to solve this problem. As expected, Fox is now blaming Biden for people refusing to get vaccinated. I just unfollowed a guy on Twitter who outed himself as a Covid conspiracy believer, after seeming like a sane human for years. No amount of messaging can fix this level of delusion.

So many people here are desperate to get the vaccine but can't because we don't have enough. They've even just made the decision to push out everyone's second Pfizer dose from 3 weeks to 6 weeks so they can give more people their first dose. Mind you, my anger should really be directed at our bloody federal government for botching the rollout, rather than the moronic anti vaxxers in Alabama. |
