Ivermectin was mentioned last summer wasn’t it? I seem to remember reading this somewhere last year and did reading up on it and was like WTF? Yea, it has been mentioned on and off for a long time. I should be golden! That shit drips down my arm whenever I pour cattle. LOL I can never get the stupid tube on the bottle securely, and at some point I always have some on me. I consider my self parasite free for the next 60 days! On a side note, I do wash it off after I get it on me. That stuff can mess with you, if you are not careful. TikTok is also HUGE into de-worming. People are taking anti-parasite concoctions and claiming they are pooping out loads of worms. Nothing to do with covid, they just all think they are full of worms. Sigh. Viral trends leave me scratching my head - but it not head lice! The Ivermectin would take care of that

Maybe this is why I had a hard time finding my horse wormer at Tractor supply this month.

Now at least only one is hospitalized!! A person in Mississippi is hospitalized after reportedly ingesting livestock medication containing ivermectin from a feed store to treat or prevent COVID-19 — a remedy promoted heavily by right-wing vaccine opponents in recent weeks. The Mississippi Health Department confirmed the hospitalization on Wednesday, according to the Mississippi Free Press. "MSDH did not reveal when the incident happened or the patient's current condition," the Free Press reported. Mississippi State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs encouraged people with medical needs to consult with their doctors. "There are potential toxicities," Dobbs said, referring to ivermectin use. "I think some people are trying to use it as a preventative, which I think is really kind of crazy. You wouldn't get your chemotherapy at a feed store. I mean, you wouldn't want to treat your pneumonia with your animal's medication. It can be dangerous to get the wrong doses of medication, especially for something that's meant for a horse or a cow." www.rawstory.com/19-patient-hospitalized-in-mississippi-after-ingesting-horse-paste-promoted-by-trump-s-alien-dna-doctor/

The fact that a public health physician has to say these words out loud is astonishing. Even five years ago, I woudn’t’ve believed it. I’d have thought it was an article from The Onion.

While ordering a refill I just realized my husband’s rosacea cream is ivermectin. Should he keep applying it topically, or start ingesting it?

I don’t have any empathy left for people that refuse the vaccine and use crazy remedies ,if they are that dumb and they die well then so be yet.

Judge orders Ohio hospital to give Covid patient Ivermectin. Butler County judge ruled in favor of a woman last week who sought to force a hospital to administer Ivermectin — an animal dewormer that federal regulators have warned against using in COVID-19 patients — to her husband after several weeks in the ICU with the disease. Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard ordered West Chester Hospital, part of the University of Cincinnati network, to treat Jeffrey Smith, 51, with Ivermectin. The order, filed Aug. 23, compels the hospital to provide Smith with 30mg of Ivermectin daily for three weeks. The drug was originally developed to deworm livestock animals before doctors began using it against parasitic diseases among humans. Several researchers won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for establishing its efficacy in humans. It's used to treat head lice, onchocerciasis (river blindness) and others. www.rawstory.com/judge-orders-hospital-to-treat-19-patient-with-ivermectin-despite-cdc-warnings/

I still don't understand how a drug that is designed to kill parasites even remotely works on a virus. They're nothing alike.
People are dumb.

I have people swearing all over FB about how they were given this, by a doctor, while sick with Covid and they are alive today because of it. Some were in the hospital and some were home sick with it. Some of these folks are not stupid or uneducated. I don't understand how it works on the virus as a human med.

Ok - some people are going way too far in the other direction here. Do not go and buy and ingest anything made for animals - that is asinine. And in countries most peas are posting from, there are much more reliable treatments and preventive options - like say the VACCINE. BUT, yes this drug does have formulas designed for PEOPLE and has been shown in previous studies to have anti-viral properties. That is factual. Some clinical trials have been undertaken to see if it is effective against Covid - that is FACTUAL. Now the largest has just been withdrawn because of misuse of data, but there are actual real doctors trying to see if particularly in areas where the vaccine is not readily available and effective treatments like monoclonal antibodies aren't available - this drug (the HUMAN formula and dosage) might improve survival. As someone with a chronic digestive disorder, the idea of *purposely* taking something that's going to induce similar problems rather than just taking a vaccine and having some flu symptoms for a day is . . . really something else.
My understanding is that Ivermectin has been shown to be effective against COVID in doses that would be lethal to humans.

I saw posts on social media where they were reporting diarrhea after consuming horse paste. The social media MDs were responding that it was normal, and it just meant that the person taking the medication had worms, and the diarrhea was a result of getting de-wormed.

Or, for that matter, one that isn’t meant for humans at all. These folks seem to be casting around for any alternative whatsoever to avoid taking the vaccine the libs want them to take. It’s not rational. Get vaccinated, and it’s very likely to matter to you whether or not ivermectin works for Covid, because you won’t get sick enough to need it.

I still don't understand how a drug that is designed to kill parasites even remotely works on a virus. They're nothing alike. People are dumb. THEY don't understand it, either (because if they DID, they'd realize that it WOULDN'T work). ETA: especially the animal formulations, or the IV formulations, etc. I do NOT understand how people can be so willfully ignorant / stupid as to think there's no difference between an animal formulation vs. human formulation, or an injectable formulation vs. an ingestible formulation. How can a judge compel a doctor / medical professional to provide a particular type of treatment if the medical professional doesn't think it's safe or warranted, or whatever? Is this supposed to be in the same vein of compelling someone to keep a patient on life support, or ordering someone taken off life support? I don't ever remember reading about a case quite like this before.

Sorry to burst the bubble that Canadians are smarter...my mom is on the hunt to get her hands on some 🙄 we've had too many discussions about all this covid/vaccine stuff (pretty sure she's down the rabbit hole) she's so distrustful of "big pharma" and all their money grubbing, but when I asked about her prescription morphine, big pharma is OK then 🙄. I'm just so done with all of this.
